Yojoe36 Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Our passing.... WHAT PASSING!!? You mean, boot the ball to no one, or give it to the opposition I thought it was Wellens who cocked up for us not Mills. Mills just goes in for everything, risking his life, shows he has balls. Also the Reading fans have been sh***ing on him. I so hope he scores, in 2 weeks, against the c**** Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn and his Dad LEGENDS!!! :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: While we were playing Real Madrid, Forest were playing Lincon away
ozleicester Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 First half we looked great, strong defensivley. Second half think we got a lesson... and someones gotta say it, that Ronaldo is a genius, I doubt i will ever see a more individually gifted player at the King power stadium.

He was a beast on the ball. Quick and easy flicks and fast paced movements were fantastic to watch.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Bamba was MOM today, thojugh though Wellens looked poor and Gallagher even worse, but it was a friendly against quality opposition. Nugent impressed.

As much as we all love to hate him, he's a bloody good footballer
The Doctor Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 While we were playing Real Madrid, Forest were playing Lincon away Got to ask why that's funny, I'd much rather an away day like Lincoln than a game against over-rated show-ponies like we had.
Dylan Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 As much as we all love to hate him, he's a bloody good footballer Agreed, I hate him too but he is World Class. 2nd best in the world behind Messi.
Happy Fox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Bamba was quality today, Matt Mills was superb he is an old school defender and really compliments Bamba's style of play I thought
Ashley Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Kasper Schmeichel had a great game, his distribution both off the floor and out his hands is superb. Really added something today made some excellent saves to, looked to be commanding his area very well always talking to the defence. Lee Peltier had a very decent game. Sol Bamba, I'm still not sure on Bamba he has lots of lapses in concentration which lead to us conceding last season however today he was excellent my man of the match. Seems to me he only plays well in big games? E.g. Manchester City, Real Madrid. The Hibs fan said he would perform well first few games when he signed then he would die off(happened last season). Bamba has the skill and knowledge to be a great central defend just hope to see more of him this coming season. My MOTM today, keep it up Sol. Mills, gave the ball away with two long passes to begin with however distribution got a lot better as the game went on. He was playing with his heart on his sleeve had to go off twice! The mans crazy. Koncheskey, looked very solid. My opinion, The defence looks pretty much sorted and we have Pantsil still to gain fitness! No worries for me in this area. Abe, decent game. Danns, this lad I'm excited by he will be the engine in our midfield next season, something we've lacked in previous seasons. Wellens, usual self. Gallagher, seen better of him wasn't his usual self today. Nugent, looked decent very quick off the mark. Vassell, looked quick, sometimes to quick loosing the ball and having to turn back to retrieve it(getting stuck under his feet a few times too) I know we were playing Real Madrid however when we got around the edge of the area we seemed to be scared to shoot or was it just me? We are creating plenty of chances we shown this through the amount of corners we were getting. We need a striker, possibly another winger. I can't wait to see what a match fit micheal johnson will be like! Waghorn looked sharp. Howard changed the game when we game on with us going 'route one, hoof ball'.
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Got to ask why that's funny, I'd much rather an away day like Lincoln than a game against over-rated show-ponies like we had. Ridiculous post... Why over-rated? You just sound jealous and sour... The money the club has made, the excitement this match has generated and the work-out it has given the players... And you would rather do Lincoln away?
Guest ttfn Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Did anyone see Ronaldo's goal at the final whistle? Pleased with the run-out. We'll not come up against anyone near Madrid calibre this season. I saw that. Magnificent.
Cropwellfox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 So... Fan's village - 'underwhelming' Cheeky Singha Beer fridge next to the empty betting kiosk in the kop - good find PA Guy - taken straight from East Coast trains Mills and Bamba - beasts Wellens - very poor Nugent - impressed given he's hardly had any game time Schmeichel running out 25 yards and bollocking his players for pissing about from a corner near the end - Just like his dad... Like a lot Pictures used when the team was being read out - lastminute.com Madrid's left hand side. Sublime. I thought i was pessimistic until i spent 90 minutes today next to a bloke who spent pretty much the whole game shaking his head...If you can't bring yourself to enjoy a friendly against Real i think it's time to pack in mate....
cc_star Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Maybe move Lloyd dyer to striker and we've solved the problem? Just a thought? I think he can be more effective than Vassell. Dyer is hot & cold, but Vassell's runs end in nothing 99% of the time

Yes I'd rather do Lincoln away, I'd much rather be bouncing for 90 minutes on some lower-league terrace than stood in an aisle at filbert way because some-one had nicked my seat and being surrounded by people only there to see Madrid.
Guest ttfn Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 I thought Mills looked really, really uncomfortable on the ball when he was on. Even before his head injuries.

[/ Oh well, many wouldn't..
Larry_LCFC Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 To be honest i think one of my highlights was filbert being filbert before the game. Decided it would be a good idea to pull the corner flag out the ground and use it as an air guitar to ruth lorenzo. Dunno who is inside the costume but hes bloody good at it. Was rather amusing.
The Voice Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 to be fair we did well, we all knew we would be on the back foot but they were one hell of a team and gave us respect they kept their promise and put out a team we and every club except barcelona can only dream off., they were about 200 times better than any team that will come to the KP this season.
sdb Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 I thought Mills looked really, really uncomfortable on the ball when he was on. Even before his head injuries. He's certainly set to 'route one' as default. Still delighted we've got him though.
ozleicester Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 As much as we all love to hate him, he's a bloody good footballer Yes, and not only that, but the entire side lifted when he was on the park, he changed the way the game was played.
Ozwin Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 That cross by Mills to Gallagher made Sergio Ramos look like a little bitch. If that's his 'route one' then more of that plz.
clare Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Matt Mills - PASSSHHHUUUUUUN! Bamba was immense, Schmeichel made some good saves and Konchesky was solid too. We did quite well in the first half, but in the second half Real were impressive as hell. So comfortable on the ball, so slick and quick. Chuffed to bits we scored against them too. Credit to Top and Vichai, the players, Sven and the staff for making this a great curtain raiser! Up the Foxes! EDIT: Need to get another striker in asap, but I'm sure Sven knows what he's doing! :sge:
