Tom17LCFC Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Tim Howard! Ha. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcFmTRdsX4E Pause this at 0:21. How pathetic is Bolton's support?!
Corky Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Bolton's away form is much better than their home, so those fans have seen some decent results.
Tom17LCFC Posted 5 January 2012 Posted 5 January 2012 Had a small count, no more than 100 Mental, quite a local game for Bolton as well isn't it?
Libertine Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 Warnock to be sacked apparently. Twitter/Telegraph.
MikeyT Posted 8 January 2012 Author Posted 8 January 2012 Footy_News_ Connors Footy news Robbie Keane is expected to join Aston Villa on a two month loan on Monday #avfc
VinceNoir Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 kompany appeal dismissed That's stupid. It should never have been a red. Even the ref realised it as he gave United players a load of soft yellows just to seem unbiased I reckon. If Manchester City are still top when Kompany returns, they will win the league. Coping without Kompany and 2 x Toure will be some test though.
StanSP Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 4-game ban because he already has a straight red card this season. Will miss matches vs Tottenham, both CC legs vs Liverpool and Monday's trip to Wigan. Luckily it's only 2 league matches. Even so, I reckon this could be a turning point in the league. He's been one of their best players this season, arguably more so than Aguero and Silva. I take it Adebayor cannot play vs his parent club when Man City meet Tottenham?
Legend_in_blue Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 A four match ban for a well timed one footed tackle? Pure comedy.
Stadt Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 A four match ban for a well timed one footed tackle? Pure comedy. I completely agree, surely it's a two-footed tackle if both feet touch the player.
accessory Posted 10 January 2012 Posted 10 January 2012 At least Mick McCarthy and Wolves will feel a little less victimised now..

No, Adebayor won't be able to play for Spurs against Manchester City. Jermain Defoe will probably start up at Eastlands. Tonight is a huge game for Spurs at home to Everton - a win would take us level on points with Manchester United in second place in the Premier League. Then there's another home game against struggling Wolves before that vital encounter with City. Exciting times for a Spurs fan!
StanSP Posted 11 January 2012 Posted 11 January 2012 Tottenham 2-0 Everton. Level on points with Utd. If they beat Wolves on Saturday they go level on points with City and possibly joint top of the league as Man City play on Monday. Also, and I know it's the PL thread, but how is this not a red card, if Kompany's was? If anything, in my opinion, it's worse than Kompany's. Glen Johnson is a lucky man.

The only thing consistent about the decision on this is the inconsistency of it all. Consistent inconsistency. It's a disgrace. This is a two-footed challenge. Two feet touch the ball, it's reckless and it could clearly take the player out.
lcfcadam Posted 11 January 2012 Posted 11 January 2012 Basically neither of the two tackles should have received even a free kick, but if one was given a red then the other had to be. It's embarrassing for the FA and our referees... Oh also anyone hear Gerrard being a complete retard on the post-match interview? Blaming Mancini of "hypocrisy" for suggesting that Johnson should have been sent off, when it was clear that all he was doing was drawing comparisons between the two tackles. Must be something they put in the water in Liverpool...
StanSP Posted 11 January 2012 Posted 11 January 2012 Basically neither of the two tackles should have received even a free kick, but if one was given a red then the other had to be. My point exactly.
Guest ttfn Posted 11 January 2012 Posted 11 January 2012 I know I'm in the minority, but I think they were both red cards. No doubting Johnson's was worse though; I can't believe anybody's defending that.

Gerrard wouldn't have actually seen Mancini's interview for himself.
sdb Posted 11 January 2012 Posted 11 January 2012 Johnson's is similar to Mills's at Birmingham. yes it is. two footed, but on the ball. tough call but has to be a red i suppose. Kompany's was never a red though for me, no excessive force, didn't go in with both feet, swept the ball away...etc
THFC6061 Posted 12 January 2012 Posted 12 January 2012 woo spurs Woo indeed! Great times to be a Spurs supporter! Wolves at home up next.
ScouseFox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Liverpool playing a 5-5-0 at home against Stoke. Carroll and Bellamy both on the bench. "King" Kenny has officially lost it.
