In his book Right-Hand, Left-Hand,[26] Chris McManus of University College London argues that the proportion of left-handers is increasing and left-handed people as a group have historically produced an above-average quota of high achievers. He says that left-handers' brains are structured differently in a way that increases their range of abilities, and the genes that determine left-handedness also govern development of the language centres of the brain.

God must be left handed because Jesus always sits on his right hand .

edit;

I won't burn in hell for all eternity now , will I ?

Could not the reason for the increase of left-handed people simply be because children are not forced to use their right hand these days?

I broke my right wrist just over a year ago so it was in a sling and I had to use my left hand. One of the most difficult tasks was wiping my-- spreading a slice of toast.. I am now able to use my left hand a lot more but it doesn't come natually

Don't know why you're worried about that now.

You were always going to!

I know , but I was hoping to get a bit of eternity off for good behaviour though .

Perhaps a 50 % reduction of eternity if i got good representation , because it must be expensive keeping all the damned for the full eternity sentence .

There should be separate Olympics for left handed people. ph34r.gif

We used to have a separate dining table for school diners so that they could watch us to make sure we ate right handed. The wooden rule across your knuckles provided a good incentive as a result pretty much the only thing I do right handed is using a knife and fork although I'm half decent at some other things right handed through there being no alternatives.

I've always used the knife in my left hand and the fork in my right, mainly because if I was eating something like say a bowl of cereal where you only have a spoon I'd use my right hand. Everyone says it's weird..but surely I'm not the only one?

I'm a but if both I suppose, left to write, but right to use scissors, I use a knife and fork the normal way but spoons in my right and buttering toast with my too

Right footed when playing football, but left handed thrower and puncher....

Proper weirdo!

Yep - knife left hand, fork right hand.

Write right hand.

Scissors right hand.

Bowl right handed, bat left handed.

Both-footed for football.

Right handed for tennis and snooker.

You have to use scissors right handed because unless they're left handed scissors they don't work!

Also, corkscrews are bloody annoying when you're part of the lefty master race.

I disagree about scissors, normal right-handed ones work fine when used left handed.

Most utensils are annoying mind, I've got my own left-handed can opener since the normal ones are designed for right-hand use. S'also annoying to write when you easily end up smudging the ink due to your hand coming behind the pen rather than in front like right handed people.

Thought they would have been tears for being so weird...

I have found someone like me :D I'am right handed, but I use my knife and fork like that! I find the other way weird, let alone people calling me weird!

When I broke my right wrist I could not get used to using a knife in my left hand. It was bad enough writing. I still worked and had to write out reports with my left hand I am more aware now when I use my left hand without thinking. That may sound wrong but before I may have used my left hand for unlocking doors drinking pints etc but never thought about it. Now Iif my right hand is in use I use my left hand.
