Leicester_Loyal Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 The funfair and stuff I can handle, it creates and friendly environment and is good for the young uns, but please put some decent entertainment on before the match and at half time. Yesterdays was shocking.
Bettsy82 Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Without trying to sound to old school, back in the Filbert St days during the warm up every players name was chanted until the Kop got a reaction out of them followed by a huge cheer, nowdays we all sit in silence how about we try to roll back the clock a bit and get everyone fired up again. I'm with you mate !
Bettsy82 Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 The attendance was pretty average of late. And when you add to that the majority of people have their main summer holiday during the school holidays then there were always going to be missing faces yesterday. So as a kid you never got the chance to experience a pre match free fun fair. But I would wager if it had been on offer when you were a kid you would have lapped it up like many of the young LCFC fans did yesterday. Why are you asking a question you know the answer to obviously I didn't go on any funfairs before football in the eighties pal cos there weren't any could you name any other football club who has a funfair on offer before games do the chelseas man utds offer funfairs pre match or even qpr last season I don't think so pal. A funfair ain't gonna get you to the prem league nor is an x factor reject.
Rich Fox Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Big over reaction can't believe people slating out owners after the way they have backed sven. However we need to get rid of the shitty x factor caraoke rejects there are plenty of local bands.
Bettsy82 Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 other than financial you mean?? they have just got the naming rights of the stadium so needed the walkers banners changing.. there pumping millions into the club, they need some exposure of there own brand Walkers banners ? These were pictures of the players mate. there building a musuem which will have plenty of nostalgia also... you cant have your cake and eat it.. sven, players, new pitch. improved training, hopefully promotion (maybe after yesterday thats a sore word but we still need to believe) all costs....
maynefox Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 The entertainment was an embarrassment, it's irrelevant to whether or not we won. Some of the changes the Thais have made are really high quality. The new programme is classy, the new megastore is a hell of a lot better than the old one, and they've proved their commitment to developing the club's facilities and playing staff. So why undermine it with such cheap and cringeworthy additions? The "fans village" is fresh out of Phoenix Nights, the only things it's missing are a sweet-dispensing condom machine and a phallic bouncy castle. The Thai dancers couldn't dance, the Rat Pack were completely, bewilderingly, out of place, and poor old Jamie Archer, whilst not deserving of boos, was just atrocious. I brought a friend from Uni, an Irish lad going to his first game of football, and he couldn't believe his eyes, he sat cowering in his seat. We got to the ground early to soak up the atmosphere, before the ground filled he was loving it and as soon as all this shite kicked off it was tarnished. Stop it. Ha! You reminded me of my dream/nightmare last night! It was that the programme price had doubled to £6, but a burger cost 30p and a Bottle of water was £10......It will happen in the future, you were all warned Anyway, I wasnt at the ground yesterday. But what people have been saying, its cringeworthy, someone posted "An English League Game" exactly! Yes Real Madrid was fine, even then the fan village was woeful. Im a supporter who turns up to grounds with about 10 mins till kick-off, but one of my friends I go with likes to "watch the warm-ups/soak up the atmosphere" What atmosphere it seems, what happened on saturday, (I dont have to be at the match) is killing the second tier game. Where has all this carnival stuff came from, Save it for the community shield at Wembley, It sounds from here as if, this game was taken a bit of a joke beforehand by the officials and organisers.

Nobody is slating the owners mate although you shouldn't be so gullible these people are businessmen and however sincere they seem they are looking to make a quick buck if we don't get promoted this season which I hope we do they will be gone ! in my opinion . anybody who thinks different is living in dreamland. A few more performances like yesterday and we can wave goodbye to the Thais and promotion.
Larry_LCFC Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 I think we have established then the funfair (located to one side out the way) does no harm to anybody and is good for the kids. It will only be there a few times throughout the season by the sounds of it so that doesnt bother me too much. The pre-match and half time entertainment I havent seen a good word for yet. Some may like it and if so should put a stage with the funfair so they can watch it. Outside the stadium though it should stay. You never know, the savings they may make might mean they can put the concourse prices back down. £3.20 for a hot dog now is a fookin joke.
Daggers Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 For me the whole ground was a joke yesterday where are the pictures of lineker etc outside the ground and no scoreboard and pictures around the top of the stadium been replaced by king power banners and the half time x factor reject was a joke some kid next to me was munching a take away pizza at half time could someone tell those ****in Thais this is football not ****in baseball. I always thought in terms of a new ground ours was good because it had character with pictures throughout of all our old heroes but now it just looks like the dw or the madejski fun fairs don't belong at football either they are not in touch with what the fans want ! So let's get it back to what it was before top before the fans start turning on you. For everyone who was not happy: bitching will change nothing. If you want to effect a change within football then there is only one thing you can do - stop paying for it. Don't buy tickets, don't go to the ground and don't give Sky money. Go watch lower league or non-league matches, go take up carpentry, anything else but following City. Oh, and that won't change anything either but it may well make you happier.

Take the worm off the line mate, that's an inane argument and you know it well.

We dont like what is happening to a certain aspect of our club so we are entitled express (not bitch) our opinions. Why the **** would we want to stop watching Leicester when people are clearly passionate about the club - otherwise why would we be on here talking about it. What an absolute idiotic post.

broughtonblue Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Got to agree the x factor thing is shit. The fans village is not for me but is optional. Don't think this thread would have started if the entertainment was decent, if the planned Thai boxing had gone ahead I think there would be a lot of praise flowing for the owners.

Whining like a little bitch, that closer to the mark then? Because that's what whiny little bitches do, post their whinges on an internet forum or, how about this, form a pointless and futile Facebook group for likeminded fuktards. If you actually gave a shit you'd do something, you haven't and you won't because that would require you to own a pair which you so evidently don't.

21st Century Fox Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Being rid of any half time entertainment isn't going to save money that would make any substantial difference to any prices in the stadium anyway. They aren't exactly going to be paying these singers alot anyway, if anything if some record company are paying the club to have their 'talent' showcase infront a captive audience for a few minutes, to promote a new album or single. The club are obviously trying to make a family atmosphere to secure the future generation of Leicester City supporters and actually get them into the stadium instead of watching Man Utd or Chelsea at home on Sky. Its the nature of the beast in todays sport, the actual sport itself just happens to be there to feed the marketing. If it genuinely upsets you enough, write to the club.
lavrentis Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 I wont be happy until football is the half time entertainment
themotivator Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 if the birch did a single roly poly on saturday at HT then it would have been infinitely more enjoyable than what actually happened. hopefully it was only put on to commemorate the fact that it was the opening home game.
MrSpaM Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 I'd rather we went back to the penalty shoot-outs and relay races round the pitch tbh
FrankieADZ Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Make your own entrainment might be other option
Mack Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Why are you asking a question you know the answer to obviously I didn't go on any funfairs before football in the eighties pal cos there weren't any could you name any other football club who has a funfair on offer before games do the chelseas man utds offer funfairs pre match or even qpr last season I don't think so pal. A funfair ain't gonna get you to the prem league nor is an x factor reject. I also grew up going to football in the late 70's/ early 80's. Your right there were no funfairs, but there was mass fighting, knives, and an oppressive environment that left kids terrified. Funfairs or violence, I know which I prefer for my kids! Just to add I agree that the X Factor rejects are a joke and I'd also be happy to see that ended ASAP.
Babylon Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 If you don't like the fans village don't go, if you don't like the singer talk to a friend, take a walk, read a programme, look at your phone. I was there and whilst I noticed it all I didn't really pay any attention because I'm not interested.
Babylon Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 fun fairs don't belong at football either they are not in touch with what the fans want ! So let's get it back to what it was before top before the fans start turning on you. It's not what you want!! I go to the football for the football, others go for a day out. Back in the 70's / 80's tickets were as cheap as chips, now they are charging £32 a pop and at least trying to offer other things for those who want it. If you aren't interested just ignore them.
thybluefox Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Into the bar, pint + sky sports. Wheres the problem?
Guest MattP Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 It's just become cringeworthy now to be honest, very much doubt I'll still be going in 5-10 years.
