I have called for patience and do think we will know whether we are any good by Christmas... But this is a football forum in which ideas can be proffered as to where things might be going wrong, frustrations vented and discussions evolve. Did not manage for 1 season, had a decent season at Man City and wrongfully sacked, Mexico it did not work out, Ivory Coast - Group of death & Notts County - a big fraud.. This is the 1st time in years he can build his team and is expected to win stuff (promotion!)..lets give it till Dec and then start this discussion..

That is right you usually aim to take on average 2 points for every game that will see us in the automatic places, win against Bristol on Wednesday and we will be on track.
bluebeau Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Let's put things into perspective. Yes we lost yesterday, but we lost to a team that came very close to going up into the Prem. That team has hardly changed & they are well used to playing together. City are still learning to play as a team, that will take time but imo it will come good soon. I also reckon that any team that finishes above Reading will be promoted, they are a good team with a good level headed manager. And finally let's not forget that this time next week we will probably have the missing piece from the jigsaw..........a new 20+ goals striker! In Sven we trust ( well I do anyway!) We have spent over £6million, our team is the better on paper. I just think Sven was at fault for yesterday, or McDermott is a better man manager/tactical manager. Sven went with one up front (at home!) and players out of position. This cannot be happening if we want promotion.

Tielemans63 Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 I think Sven is a good manager and I'm sure he'll pull the lads together - my only gripe (and it's big one) is that there doesn't seem to be much of a plan B with Sven. It was the same with England, when his side is under the cosh he doesn't seem to be able to change it around. Still, I agree that those making noises about sacking Sven are talking straight outta there A holes.

I wonder why... it's tempting to say I think he'd make an excellent England manager! But didn't some of them rate Capello too, when he was appointed. McClaren too. And I distinctly remember them wanting Sir Alf Ramsey and Sir Bobby Robson out! As some of you have seen on here it's not always easy to fly a flag for journalists, past or present! .
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 am i the only one who dont think sven is a good manager??? sure he did well with england and whatever but i dont think he can motivate the players, the reading manager today was always in his technical box shouting and telling his players what to do, all sven does is just sit down and watches, he very rarely gets up, also i think everyone only likes him because he can bring in big names, (though they can not play together), after watching todays game i really do wish someone like pearson becomes manager. I really do wish you could spell properly, and say what you mean. It really must be a shame to be so dreadfully ignorant of our own language. However, I do think I can comprehend the tripe you are attempting, which is even worse than your knowledge of our own language. Why don't you do us all a favour, and not attempt to post such utter puerile drivel.
