Couple of your other forwards looked good, sorry no idea on names, other than that none stood out, your keeper looked pretty flappy and poor. Maynard looked very sharp. You were pretty poor but luckily for you we were far poorer, you could easily have won 5-0 on another night.

Middle of the park is a joke, so many changes, no creativity. Upfront and wingers, don't get me started. All this money spend, it's making me sick.

Took some excellent play from Nugent (MoM) to salvage something until SSL fukt it up! Then back to not being able to break them down. So frustrating, my blood is boiling! Even if I tried scapegoating, I couldn't! Shite performance. Sort it Out!!!

Bristol were somewhat lucky with the ref clearly not knowing the difference between football and rugby. The first one, from what I could see Fernandes stepped back and pulled out of the challenge only for the lad to change his course and run into Fernandes. The penalty - never a penalty, more clear a dive than Chris Ashton going over. As for the winner, could someone please tell me when arms round the body and throwing the defender to the ground became an acceptable way of winning the ball?

What might they think of their club, after all these investments? Are they happy? Are they going to change the strategy? How patient will they be? We're not good enough and this team needs at least one season to gel. If they're ever going to gel in the first place. Absolutely shocking mental attitude today, they thought they'd walk it from start to finish. But without a system they were as clueless as the many City fans watching this hopeless conglomerate of men on sticks in blue shirts. Our central defenders are a laughing stock for the league. First Mills fvcks it up big-time against his former club, now St. Ledger with an absolute nightmare. For players of their pedigree, they're playing as if they had their pants sh*t full before a game. We've got one of the best back fours in the league. On paper. In real life, it's going beyond a parody. Our central midfield is almost non-existant and can't initiate attacks, they're scared like hell passing the ball only remotely forward. Our lone striker is a lone striker and just that... alone, on his own. Up front. And nobody cares (see central midfield for further information). Horrible, horrible start to the season and the next two games have me shivering. Because I think we're going to get stuffed twice. We never do well at the City Ground and Southampton are on a high like the whole first-team squad has bought up the entire produce of the Colombian hinterland. And the worst part is the reaction from Bristol City fans, who will flood this forum by the dozens, taking the (deserved) mick out of my dear LCFC. And you know what? They have every right in the world to do so - because, quite frankly, we were worse than shit (with one or two exceptions). I feel sick right now and a part of my faith has evaporated forever after tonight's shameful "performance". Sven - sort it out. You've got about nine games to turn this sinking tanker around. WE NEED A STRIKER!!! And stop fooling around with two, three, four defensive central midfielders. It doesn't work. And give those spoiled brats a right rollicking, no more excuses, no more Mr. Nice Guy from Sweden! Daddy's had it. Up here! Now... I need a drink. I'm shaken, not stirred.

somebum Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 Sven never had it, this is another Peter Taylor situation where mass pre-season hysteria has been whipped up and cash has been flashed around willy nilly without any thought. This is a guy who had England's best players at his disposal and h e did nothing with them. What makes people think he could do anything with us? Is this really a surprise to anyone? When was the last time Sven achieved anything as a manager? He is the worlds greatest PR man; a trickster, conman, fraud - he knows nothing of motivation or how to get out of this league. Still no system, still trying to please every player, still trying to be Mr Nice Guy. He's no good. Time to wake up.
cc_star Posted 17 August 2011 Posted 17 August 2011 The fact it's early still may not be enough to save us... The top 2 rarely lose many more than about 5 or 6 games over the whole season. Add that to the fact that a couple if teams will prob go on to win 8 or 9 out of 10 and we could be leaving too big a gap like last season. The fact we've had to buy a whole new team isn't helping but then as i said we'd have been better off buying 3 or 4 players last season & using it as a transition so we could sign just 4 or so players in the summer. Signing about 10 loan players followed by 10 signings is a recipe for a Martin Allen/Ian Holloway too many signings disaster especially as there has been a complete overhaul of the 'tactics' not that any have been on display so far. The next 2 games will set our stall out, win them & confidence will breed more wins, but lose them & this has got Sousa written all over it, except the stakes are even higher.

Totally agree that something is going horribly awry somewhere but I actually thought that the starting 11 tonight looked far more balanced?

Going to want to punch Sven tomorrow when we get the obligatory "we must do better" article. I've got a revolutionary ****ing idea Sven, make ****ing damn sure we do in future instead of ****ing banging on about it. Not only can we still not defend but we have no left winger or decent strikers! Bloody embarrassing that even derby are better than us. Makes me sick. Last thing. Keith Millen is laughing at us tonight and who could blame him. We've wasted half the summer chasing a player who has just single handedly beaten us and upped the asking price by £2 million in the process. Sven must be gutted. Think for the sake of this website you should delete the Maynard forum now. Just ****ing embarrassing.
