Salieri Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Haven't got the foggiest what the line up should be, thought the team against Brizzle looked good so what do i know. Just got a feeling though we will bounce back with the sort of performance we should be giving, given the talent at our disposal. Staying positive.
Fox92 Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 new back to basics 4-4-2 or 4-2-4 but ridgid and compact What are you on? Ball? Michael Ball? No, not in any circumstance. Waghorn? Thats ridiculas. No Vassell or Wellens. I'm genuinely amazed at how many people think Gallagher should start tomorrow. He was utter shite on weds, and in a blood and thunder local derby, his foot dangling tackling and not challenging for headers are really the last thing we need. He shouldn't even make the bench after wednesdays display. At last someone else who has seen this. Gallagher is the type of player which annoys me because he doesn't challenge for the ball no matter what. He has no pace, he isn't an ariel threat (he makes no attempt at all ) and his set pieces always flatter to decive.
Ashley Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 I slightly worried about some peoples formations and players there playing in that formation on here.
Cropwellfox Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Could pick any XI and be damned if we lose - as others have mentioned, Wednesday team felt good up to about 6 minutes in!! Cannot see Sven moving away from his 433, especially away from home. Schmeichel Pantsil Bamba Mills Konchesky Abe Fernandes Danns Gallagher Vassell Nugent subs: Weale Peltier King Wellens Schlupp which would mean no Waghorn set pieces.....
londonfox_93 Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 I say apparently as one of my work colleagues (who is not know for making stuff up) said she saw him leave. They sit in the posh seats near the tunnel so they can see the bench too. Don't have any more than that to back it up...sorry. However, having not seen him leave myself i can only say it probably true...and to be fair I probably don't blame him...he must have been gutted. It's bullshit, Mills was on the bench and went for a 'warm up' down the sides during the first half
dannythefox Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Bench: Weale St Ledger Abe Gallagher Schlupp lol for the subs
Fox92 Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 I'd rather have Howard on the bench, instead of Weale. (I wouldn't bother with putting a goalkeeper on the bench, its not like Kasper is going to get injured )
FosseFox Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Waghorn tries hard, that's it. All some people want is passion and pace and they forget about keeping the ball, passing, movement etc etc. We shouldn't play 4-4-2. Generally speaking, a 4-4-2 works best when the wide men in midfield are able to bomb forward and stretch the opposition, keeping opposition fullbacks and crossing into a big striker. This relies on wingers that can cross. Of which we have none. When we keep the ball, can we stop booing too? If the opposition don't have the ball, they can't score. Keeping the ball wears teams out, creates spaces which creates goals. Goals win games. Bombing forward and hoofing it, 40 yard shots and head down running might be exciting but it doesn't fooking work.
Raw Dykes Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 lol for the subs Who the hell do you put on the bench then? Waghorn? No because he's rubbish. Dyer? No - same reason. Johnson's not fit yet. Maybe Howard, I suppose. I don't see what's funny about it.
lestajigs Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Anyone no if u can smoke at the city ground at half time in the away end?????
dannythefox Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Who the hell do you put on the bench then? Waghorn? No because he's rubbish. Dyer? No - same reason. Johnson's not fit yet. Raw Dykes Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 The bench will probably be Weale Dyer Waghorn King/Danns Gally/Vassell I started King, Danns and Vassell. How am I meant to put them on the bench, as well? Waghorn and Dyer are shite! No defenders, then? Good idea!
gazfox9 Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 if u put Mills on the bench he will go home again like he (apparently) did on Wednesday If he did he must have come back again pretty pronto, as he was warming up on the touchline in front of me.
VaLLiNs95 Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 I know Abe isn't a right back, but apparently he played very well there, and Peltier was invisible last night. Not too impressed by Gallagher either but we don't have anyone else to play right mid and need a dead ball specialist in the team. Yuki? That is all.
HEGGSY Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Anyone no if u can smoke at the city ground at half time in the away end????? I wouldnt think so considering your not allowed to at most if not all other grounds
Fox2323 Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Mills didn't go home because waghorn booted a ball over the cross bar at half time, it hit a fan and mills told waghorn to go apologise
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 I'm genuinely amazed at how many people think Gallagher should start tomorrow. He was utter shite on weds, and in a blood and thunder local derby, his foot dangling tackling and not challenging for headers are really the last thing we need. He shouldn't even make the bench after wednesdays display. I agree with what you say about his challenging for headers, tackling and performance and on Wednesday. But with his set piece ability he can change a game with the swing of a boot and, in a game that will be as tight as I would expect tomorrow to be, that could be the difference. If someone else had put in a display that would justify their inclusion I would consider dropping him to the bench but the team hasn't exactly been firing in Vassell's absence and Dyer was equally ineffectual against Bristol City.

Vassel is good but like i said im not in favour of a 4-3-3, but in my system spose you could swap waghorn for vassel, the reason i chose waghorn is because he is still young, vassel is old and slow, wellends is good but again i went with king because of his age and because i feel he has more in his legs- andy king has been totally snubbed really by sven this season even though he scored loads last season. i chose micheal ball because clearly in the first two mills and SSL have made mistakes, players have to be dropped if there going to cost us the game, im not saying has to be ball but we havent got many left if we are leaving out mills and st ledger after the first two

You fvcking moron he is good im not saying hes not good but have you seen his scoring record, its shambles
psychonaut Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 4-3-3 (4-5-1) Not my chosen formation or my first 11 but the most likely... Its still beyond me why we have this many central midfielders. If we are going to stick with this formation and challenge for promotion Gallagher and Vassell need replacing.
RyanB89 Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 This KasperPantsil Bamba Mills KoncheskyAbeKing WellensVassell Nugent Dyer
Iwan Roberts Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 I would play 4-4-2 Schmeicel Peltier Mills Bamba Konchesky Wellens Abe Gallagher Fernandes Vassell Nugent
