Topman Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Let Abe take the ****ing free kicks from now on! Rant over
stix Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 You're clueless, Dyer and Waghorn are two of the worst players i've seen in nearly 20 years supporting City. Thank fu ck you're not the gaffer. You must of been to around 1 game in those TWENTY years if they are 2 of the worst. Im not going to reel off the shit i have seen over the last 15-20 years but there is no way they are at the top of said list. maybe our ambitions as a club this season are indeed a little higher than their abilities, but to say they are basically completely shit is just incorrect. what a ridiculous thing to say.
Corky Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 This team selection will be interesting. Sven's tried one side against Reading, changed plenty for the game last night and neither worked. I'd bring Mills back in for St Ledger, possibly Schlupp with Nugent and Dyer on the left. Who plays on the right I really don't know.
Father Ted Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Nick's 'twopenneth': .............................Kasper Pelts........Bamba........ Mills............Konchesky Nugent......Vassel......Abe.......Wellens.......Gally ..............................Schlupp Bench: Weale, Paintsil, Howard, Johnson / Danns, King . 451 - Nugent can play right wing, Abe takes the holding role, Howard can do a job as the target man holding up the ball to bring off the bench, Vassel goodish movement on and off the ball, Johnson or Danns depending on fitness. Fernandes dropped for a local derby to practice timing his tackles. Is this a pisstake? Really? Did you go to the game last night?
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 18 August 2011 Author Posted 18 August 2011 4-4 ****ing 2 Schmeichel Pantsil - Mills - Bamba - KoncheskyVassell - King - Wellens - DyerHoward - Nugent. subs: Weale, St.Ledger, Abe, King, Gallagher. Lets stick Howard in and see what he can do. The last two matches we have been SCARED to pass the ball in a forwards direction, you would think we were playing rugby so lets play a bit of hoofball, give Nugent a bit of support and give Forest scum a real game. COME ON LEICESTER! And also two wingers with pace, Dyer on the LEFT because he is LEFT footed and Vassell on the RIGHT because he is RIGHT footed to give us some width (Sven ) this but king in
DanTheFox07 Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Kasper Peltier -------- Mills ----------Bamba ------- Konchesky Fernandes Abe ---------- King Gallagher Nugent ------- Vassell subs: Smith, St Ledger, Danns, Johnson, Schlupp This!
GianEmmo Zola Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 ..................Kasper................... Peltier Mills Bamba Konchesky ....................Abe.................... .........Wellens....Fernandes..... ...............Gallagher................ ..........Nugent Vassell............... Weale, SSL, Dyer, Danns, Howard
Red Dawn Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 There's no chance of this happening. We're as bad if not worse then you lot atm. In three league games we've had 2 shots on target and one header against what can hardly be called stellar opposition. Annoyingly I'm in Wales for this game and relying on txt updates. Couldn't agree more, I went to Donny on Tuesday and we were far from convincing. Although it's been more than 2 shots on target.. Il be there on Saturday too, reckon it's got draw written all over it for two slow starters
Callabinho Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 We still need a new striker then! I'm not going to even bother predicting a team, I just prey to god that we pull off a miracle!
foxes2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 new back to basics 4-4-2 or 4-2-4 but ridgid and compact
body102 Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Kasper st ledger Bamba Mills Peltier Konch wellens King Fernandes Nugent schlupp/Gallagher that was supposedlymeant to read as a 5-3-2 formation with pelts and konch as wing backs
cc_star Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Kasper Peltier - Bamba - Berner - KoncheskyMoussa - Wellens - King - DyerNugent - Gallagher Subs: Howard, Schlupp, SSL, Johnson, Oakley An old, calm head at the back is just what we need. And we need to stop chopping & changing everything and allow some partnerships to form at the back, in the middle & upfront. I also had it with fancy ineffective formations, I don't believe 4-4-2 is the answer but it is something that all players are familiar with and will form a base to build on.
SMX11 Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 GK: Kasper DR: Peltier DC: Mills DC: Bamba (need Tunchev back imo) DL: Konchesky DM: Fernandes MC: Johnson MC: King AM: Gallagher ST: Vassell/ Schlupp ST: Nugent
Gazza M Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Please, please, please, please go 4-4-2 Sven!!! This is who I would like to see play: GK: Schmeichel DL: Konchesky DR: Peltier DC: Mills DC: St Ledger ML: Dyer MR: Gallagher MC: King MC: Wellens FC: Nugent FC: Schlupp Subs: Weale Bamba Abe Vassell Howard I would bring Mills back in for Sol Bamba or should I say Bambi! The man is a liability. If Tunchev gets through his loan unscathed I would consider bringing him straight back in to the side as St Ledger looked very ropey. The only other option is Ball at centre half. Don't expect much from him to be honest. The midfield has a familiar look to it. One that features both wide men playing on their stronger foot rather than having to cut inside. A feature of Svens system that I hate! Up top we have a familiar big man little man partnership. Schlupp is quick and Nugent has a bit of pace and looks to be a good finisher as well as being able to play as a target man if required.
marbelladave Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 To be honest I have seen little from our players to give me much of a clue as to who actually deserves to play. Schmeichel, Bamba, Konchesky, King, Nugent. Have been the best of a bad bunch and should all start. The rest, who knows....... Fernandez has showed some promise, maybe get him to sit in front of the back 4 (and shoot him if he goes beyond halfway) might be a decent call, Vassell must be busting for a start, so maybe those two as well........
Guest ttfn Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Howard should at least be in the squad. All the other strikers (Nugent apart) aren't good enough and at least he offers something different.
dayday Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 I would love to see Schlupp and Nugent in a upfront pairing....it would give defence's a lot to think about. I know some people think he is not ready yet,but playing him out wide against Reading....may of not suited him. You never know it could be the tactical change that may just kick start our season.
Karljohn Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Dare I suggest......Berner, Oakley, Dyer, Wellens, King, Waghorn, Howard, perhaps even Paula Gallagher (spelling of first name intentional) to be somehwhere in the 16 for Forest, its broke and it needs fixing, and it worked at least once?
MikeyT Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Either a standard 4-4-2, or a diamond formation with Gally behind the 2 strikers. Schmeichel Peltier Bamba Mills Konchesky Schlupp King Wellens Gally Nugent Vassell Subs: Weale, Waghorn , Dyer, Fernandes, St. Ledger
The Doctor Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Please, please, please, please go 4-4-2 Sven!!! Schlupp is quick and Nugent has a bit of pace and looks to be a good finisher as well as being able to play as a target man if required. which explains why he's been arguably our best player so far this season.
lcfcnoely Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Definately draw, then Southampton... Not good !
EverybodyDannsNow Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 Kasper peltier mills bamba konchesky danns wellens king fernandes nugent vassell
Swalker Posted 18 August 2011 Posted 18 August 2011 I know Abe isn't a right back, but apparently he played very well there, and Peltier was invisible last night. Not too impressed by Gallagher either but we don't have anyone else to play right mid and need a dead ball specialist in the team. how can you drop peltier for being poor last night but keep king, wellens, gally and dyer?
