Spiritwalker Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 I liked him before, I love him now. Runs his heart out, great in the air, knows where the goal is. He's looked the complete forward so far. I just hope we can sign someone worthy of helping him out up top, and, if he stays fit, he's certain to bag 20 on this form. This. When we were first linked to him many weren't keen, but I could only go with when I'd seen him play for Pompey and he'd always been excellent. If we could get a top draw striker along side him then we would have a team capeable of promotion.

If we could get a top draw striker along side him then we would have a team capeable of promotion. i dont think vassell played aswell as many thought today, wish we would take a punt on someone like le fondre as he would be cheap and eager to prove a point. Surprise we didnt have big steve on the bench. He would have been the ideal replacement for nuge as he would of attempted to win balls in the air and hold up the ball. I'll throw a few more names in here - Fraizer Campbell - Simeon Jackson (never know le fondre may turn out to have a similar ability) - Fabio Borini

Everybody makes mistakes. Fernandes has been so far top 2 as far as signings go. Solid today,tireless infact. MOM at Coventry. The 2 home games i think we can agree that there were no stand out performers. The jury has mulled it over.....unanimous....not guilty

I do like him now though, he chases everything and never stops, he is decent in the air and is a good finisher when the chance comes. Great signing, especially for nothing,

Nugent went through a bit of a doldrum period after starting off extremely well as a professional footballer. Now I think he's probably our best signing of the summer, along with Gelson... I still reckon Danns is gonna come good though.. There were little signs of a very good player yesterday

I've always liked vassell there's no doubt we miss him when he isn't playing his runs off the ball are very clever and he helped nugent a lot yesterday.
MGLCFC Posted 21 August 2011 Posted 21 August 2011 Fernandes, Danns, Schmeichel are also great signings - as they are better than what we had.To me a great signing adds something to the team and I think along with Nugent, these palyers have added to the team. I also thought John Pantsil had a good game yesterday and loved his passion at the beginning - he really looked up for it.

I think nugent will get 15-20 goals but we need someone else to get similar numbers as well. I also think we tend to look better with vassell in the side otherwise we lack pace, hopefully yesterday is something we can build on, although weale hardly covered himself in glory again.

The worst was when he was winding some abuse into Fernandes and he was not paying attention at all and the ball hit him on the edge of the box and a shooting opportunity was missed.

Big Steve has all but gone to an (as of yet) unamed club. i think either Derby leeds or Cov. Nooge had a great game. i do like Fernandez and pansil tooout of teh news boys. i honestly think we'll be fine - always said it would take 6 or so games for the players to get - plesase Sven - 4 4 2!

Yes, you could argue anyone being sent off would change the game but we lacked pace once he left the field and just him making runs forward yesterday opened different attacking options, which we seemed to lack against reading and Bristol.
