Stay Positive Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Difficult to make a comprehensive list off the top of my head, but I'll try to make a top 5... 1) The day my son, Stefan, was born. 2) Play-off final vs Derby (many football related candidates, but this one still tops the lot). 3) The day I was offered an interview with Johnny Marr, and the resultant chat where we got on so well, I felt like I was having a beer at the pub with my mates. 4) Appearing on ITV with my then band, Duffmonkeys, on a Davina McCall show called "Oblivious". The whole day was insane, and thoroughly enjoyable. 5) Probably the day I finally got a girl to sleep with me! Honestly, I was much later than most people, in my twenties anyway, and the feeling of relief was immense! Yours?
Jon the Hat Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Everyday I wake up next to my wife to hear my little girl calling "daddy I awake!" from her cot.
I am Rod Hull Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Everyday I wake up next to my wife to hear my little girl calling "daddy I awake!" from her cot. Thats great... Mine... Seeing my lad and girl born. Nothing can beat that feeling...
jonthefox Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Thats great... Mine... Seeing my lad and girl born. Nothing can beat that feeling... yep.
boring_jester Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 I have many. The first is getting engaged to the misses on my passing out parade for the navy, The football one would have to be Leicester vs crystal palace away around 4 seasons ago. Palace equielised in the last minutes but it was the first city game ever (except for FNF) plus me and the brother got lost in south London walking the estates in city tops with a shitty cartoon tile on it. Was shitting my self.
Stay Positive Posted 24 August 2011 Author Posted 24 August 2011 I can't even think of one I wouldn't worry about that too much - if your username reflects the year you were born and you're only 20, bear in mind that all mine happened between the ages of 24 and 39!
I am Rod Hull Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 yep. And their first words and steps... My lad was quick in both... 10 months for his first steps... But his first word (apart from mama and dada) was "bupball" (football in rugrat) I used to knock a balloon around the room while he was in his babywalker and he pointed and said "bupball" BRILLIANT !!!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 24 August 2011 Posted 24 August 2011 Lifes been pretty good to me would be hard to pin point a certain day

Most amusing thing Stefan's done so far is, after his grandad tried to discreetly fart, pointing at the culprit and blowing a raspberry.

Stay Positive Posted 24 August 2011 Author Posted 24 August 2011 Lost me there... Eh? Do you mean you don't understand what I put? I'll try and break it down for you: 1) Grandad farts 2) Stefan points at grandad and blows raspberry (i.e. makes farting noise with mouth) Well we found it funny anyway!

FoxyPV Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 No particular order: My wedding day - just me, Ms Foxy and two witnesses Foxy Jr being born and everyday since Winning the All Ireland with my football club. The day I got out of psychiatric hospital after a prolonged stay

The day I got out of psychiatric hospital after a prolonged stay A wedding with no family? Or reception?
FoxyPV Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 A wedding with no family? Or reception? My family were less than pleased by my decision to get married to Ms Foxy (who's 17 years my senior and was my teacher) and even less so when we decided to get married in England. Neither of us wanted anyone there who was less than 100% behind our decision hence none of my family being there and using Step Foxy1 and her future husband as our witnesses. We had a reception several months later back in Belfast to appease my mum and dad and friends. I could have done without it.

Salieri Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Thats great... Mine... Seeing my lad and girl born. Nothing can beat that feeling... This for me. Although not the labour part (about 35 hours each time). Bloody nightmare it was, don't suppose it was a walk in the park for the missus either.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Living through the 1960.s. So many good things were happening, and I was actually very happy, then.
Rincewind Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 It happens Well done for sticking to your guns. The only reason your family would be justified in thinking your bride to be /wife was not suited was if she turned out to be an absolute bitch and I assume hopefully this paranoid fear was proved untrue and you have had XXXX years of married bliss.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 The army days. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Amin Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 I'm only 18, so I don't have the same calibre of "best days" as some of the rest of you, but... 1) Seeing Leicester City live for the first time, away at Bradford in the 99/00 season, of which highlights are below. 2) The 2002 World Cup, seeing my footballing hero come back from two horrific knee injuries to win the World Cup and bagging the Golden Boot. 3) Going on holiday to Jordan back in 2005 to see my fathers parents for the first time. 4) Brazil vs Ghana at the 2006 World Cup, seeing Ronaldo break Muller's record as the top goalscorer in World Cup history. 5) Buying my PS3 and HDTV in early 2007 after doing a paper round for a year and a half soley for this purpose. (Sad, I know )
