I hate it when fans say a striker is not good enough for us because he goes missing in some games, all strikers do Yakubu is a great goalscorer. Just look at Messi against Chelsea, Ronaldo in the Champions League semi finals last year as examples. All strikers are going to have games where they don't perform but as soon as a striker does at Leicester he's not good enough

The problem we have is that a lot of our fans see aimlessly running yourself into the ground for the cause as the primary attribute for one of our players.

Mackail Smith would have been a huge hit with a lot of our fans.. pointlessly runs and runs and runs his bollocks off with little reward, but that seems to be all important.

Really liked Yakubu, even if it was the £1m loan fee & anything up to £35k/wk according to Everton.

He wanted to come in the summer, but Sven left our offer on the table & wasted half his summer on Maynard, CMS & various others who had no interest in us so he felt unwanted and went elsewhere.

Would have been quite a different season with a 1 in 2 forward

Exactly, almost why I think Nugent is beginning to suffer as Beckford has been accepted now as a poacher more pressure is put on him to work harder for the ball

I'll admit I wasn't a huge fan while he was here, at the same time I did appreciate 12 goals in a matter of time. The problem for me was that with every game I watched he didn't seem to want it enough, almost as if he didn't really care and wasn't bothered. I don't expect a player to chase everything down, or cause a constant threat as soon as they get the ball, but work as hard as you can and put your all into every performance, if it's not for the team at least do it for yourself. He just came across as lazy to me, that's just how I saw him, I feel the same about Becks most of the time, but I know he's a great player and I know what he's capable of, he can just be frustrating.
