blueredswed Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 I've been critical of kingy, abe and fernandes in the past but I thought they did really well today, and dannsy did well. Nugent and vassell and the schluppinator looked dangerous throughout. Defence looked good and schmeichel is the best goalie we've had for years. Derby were sh1t so let's not get carried away yet though! And Leeds say he was shit but both Sven and I knew he is super so come on up we goes :scarf:

Without getting carried away we've drew tough games away and won hard games at home. Can the doubters admit that time was needed and that we are starting to look good? Guest Bilo Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Absolutely superb performance from the first minute to the last, Derby never in it and were thoroughly outclassed in every department. The defence is now looking like a back line that has had close to £7m spent on it, an absolute stonewall with Mills and Bamba close to impenetrable. Danns was a terrier in midfield and we saw King at his mercurial best with the midfield dominating proceedings throughout. Vassell and Nugent up front look one hell of a pairing, though Vassell is a little bit profligate in front of goal. I daresay a Beckford-Nugent combo could have seen us 4-0 up at half-time with the amount of space our passing game was creating. On the subject of our passing, what a pleasure our one-touch game is to watch. Derby tried to press and harry us, but they ended up chasing shadows due to the speed and accuracy of movement. We'll come across better sides than Derby without a doubt, but I daresay it'll be a bit longer before they come up against a better performance than that. Delighted.

So happy and glad it was on Sky to show the rest of the Championship what we are really like when we focus. 4 goals, a clean sheet and up to 8th. 6 points off top place and 1 point off a play off spot. The form going into the break is wonderful, now we get two weeks to get all the knocks patched up and start thrashing this league. I don't think it's a coincidence that King finally puts a shift in and we look better going forward. This validates the fact that his form has been subpar, but also the fact that he is a key player.
