I am Rod Hull Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 UPLOAD IT NOW!! I loves how he just ripped a new arsehole in four Derby defenders just prior to his motivational scream and shout. I love the guy, a complete Leicester legend I`ll do a dodgy vid from the tele in the morning...
cc_star Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Howard should always be on bench IMO, can hold ball up if we're defending a slim lead under pressure or can just cause mischief like today.
Ric Flair Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Howard should always be on bench IMO, can hold ball up if we're defending a slim lead under pressure or can just cause mischief like today. Your embarrassing comments about Andy King have come back to bite you today! Haha.
AKCJ Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 I`ll do a dodgy vid from the tele in the morning... G'lad.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Of course - can't change your mind at any point. Being serious - Dyer is a good impact player but I still don't think he's good enough to start week-in, week-out. Agree with Dyer. As for Howard he too offers something completely different. Ok the 'something different' is route one football with him as the target man, but sometimes that's what you need to break down some teams in this league IMO. I'm glad they both had a run out, and showed they did have something to offer still. Serious question now, have Derby been that shite all season, or was today a one off? How slick was our first goal?
Ozwin Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Anyone planning on uploading it at all? I was working sadly If you don't want to publically announce it then PM me or something? Cheers.
matsmith73 Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 A great win, thought howard and dyer looked good when they came on. Very happy with the progress we are making.
Hack Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Just proves why we don't need Wellens..... Wellens is a good player, but not suited to playing at the back of the diamond. Abe is the perfect man for that role. He is much quicker to moving the ball up field though his midfield team mates than Wellens.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Still hasn't sunk in, doesn't feel real. I LOVE THIS TEAM!!
Thracian Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Proper football - something to really cheer about - I'm hoarse and I've just got back from celebrating. How nice to finally see the brakes come off. And how strongly some recent opinions were vindicated today. For me our injuries were a blessing in disguise because King moved back into more of a fulcrum role and lost all the contained inhibitions of his season so far. For the first time this season we had no obvious passengers because everyone brought not only urgency to their position but also a sense of teamsmanship. Even the return of Dyer as substitute confirmed what people have been saying - that he is always likely to have some effect. But the pluses were endless right up to the end with Schlupp scoring his first home goal in Championship football thanks to a timely and so-popular assist from Steve Howard. That blokes enthusiasm was a revelation - the perfect example to any professional footballer. And was a nice touch to see Kasper take Schluppy forward to milk the applause from the Kop End. Our defence recordng a fourth consecutive clean sheet was another bonus - especially as they limited Derby to so few half-chances and hardly a real chance all game. Even our disallowed goal was a classic team effort with Kingy selflessly providing a tap in,. Nugent's return went perfectly. He's another contributor. Whether playing well or not he gives his all and provides a threat. And how sweetly and profeessionally he took that chance. Vassell was bound to score sooner or later and I was pleased for him and for the busy Fernandes. But mostly I was pleased with the way we pressed Derby early and completely outplayed them first half with the entire backline showing real resolution. There was still an air of holding what we had for the first half-an-hour of the second half but once Howard joined the throng and the clock started showing there was no hope for Derby, our inhibitions disappeared again and 2-0 on their big day out became a humiliating 4-0 which might so easily have been five. Picking a man of the match was impossible for me. Mills was a rock once more - as emphasised by one towering head that just made a statement for his entire atttitude. But Bamba was no less immense, Konchelsky had an air of emphatic determination and Peltier added yet another thoroughly competent contribution. Kingy to me was the conductor - not only probing away with some clever passes but always finding a safe way out of difficult situations on a day when our entire team played the ball quickly and cleanly as if they'd played together for years. That's anaother top of the table scalp but the manner of this sustained effort would have sent out real warning signs because Derby were destroyed and made to look extremely ordinary. You could tell what athe fans thought because those around me were never quiet. They were there living every move and singing at the tops of their voices. Happy days. A real treat from one and all.

Whatever happens to my 2-1 win prediction I don't think we're philosophically geared up to winning big. We never pick enough scorers/creators for a start and even if we do get ahead there comes a point when we say "hold onto what we have".Derby away last season was a stark example. Two-nil up and running rampant up to half-tiome we completely surrendered the initiative and tried to hang on for victory. It worked but the same daft philosophy didn't work at Forest. We've been just the same on other occasions - at home against Southampton when we almost let victory slip. No, a two-goal margin is just about possible but a one-goal margin much more likely. So..happy to admit you were wrong then?
tickler28 Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Only if you have a bird, a beer and a blunt in your hands. Got a beautiful wife beer in hand but got ****ing parking ticket doh!
Bert Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Great team performance. Everyone did their bit and can come off the pitch saying "I've played well". Was really pleased with King today, he looked a different player. We had so much more pace and energy about us without Wellens.
Thracian Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 So..happy to admit you were wrong then? Didn't I say I'd be delighted to be proved wrong in my original post? Hopefully this sort of performance will encourage us to keep playing to our full potential.
Salieri Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Didn't I say I'd be delighted to be proved wrong in my original post? Hopefully this sort of performance will encourage us to keep playing to our full potential. Fair enough. So could you possibly stop massively over-reacting when we don't play Barcelona-esque football week in, week out?
sdb Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 That was so much fun, Abe MOTM for me, the 2 centre halves were immense and Nugent worked his socks off. The subs were amazing. Steveo cracked me up with his passion. Delighted for Schlupp too. Was mildy concerned around 50 - 65 mins, thought we sat off a little. Great day out. By the way, where was Wellens? Just seen something on p2/3 about Hull???!
Bert Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 So many people have given different MOTM's today, that's how good our performance was.
Yojoe36 Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 *Sigh* It seems Leicester is officially being called a Rugby town... BY EVERYONE. Never really heard that alot to be honest. I don't understand though. Who watches Leicester Tigers anyway?
Number 6 Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Why watch rubgy when the football's this good? Superb all round today. How many minutes since we've conceded?
leicesterseddon Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 *Sigh* It seems Leicester is officially being called a Rugby town... BY EVERYONE. Never really heard that alot to be honest. I don't understand though. Who watches Leicester Tigers anyway? Eh?
Magictv Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Why watch rubgy when the football's this good? Superb all round today. How many minutes since we've conceded? Getting on for 290-300 with stoppage time. Hope we keep it up.
orangecity23 Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Great game, great team performance. Atmosphere was good, some cracking football at times. What a great game to be at. Genuinely haven't stopped smiling all evening. Proper classic that. EDIT: Don't believe all that 'Rugby city' bollocks. Tigers are the Man U of the rugby world, a lot of their fans aren't even from Leicester in the first place.
5waller5 Posted 1 October 2011 Posted 1 October 2011 Delighted with the win, the performance and even the fans today!!!! I can't help but feel that Wellens slows play down too much and that this is the football we'd always play without him showboating and missing the early ball???
