Alexikokopops Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Why would he need to live in Leicestershire? Didn't he live in Hertfordshire ("Beckingham Palace") when he played for Man Utd?
Guest MattP Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 This sends shivers down my spine...however old he is he's still got the ability to hit a 2 pence piece from 60 yards. I think our front line could do with this kind of service and the shirt sales would more than pay for his fees. When was the last time you watched him? He sent two crosses 20 yards over the crossbar last game I saw him in V Seattle. Shirt sales would cover it?? I don't think signing Beckham would shift 433,000 shirts a year to cover his wage
Schlupp Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Tbh,Thinking about it I reckon he would flop ,He's better off living his last days in America.
ajthefox Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 oh good, another Beckham thread, just what we need

Shirt sales would cover it?? I don't think signing Beckham would shift 433,000 shirts a year to cover his wage I live in Texas, I watch about 3-4 MLS games a week including the Galaxy which seem to be on every game. So I would say i've probably seen him play around 20 times this season so far. He does have the odd bad game yes like any player but on the whole over the whole season he has looked head and shoulders above everyone else in the league. Remember with shirt sales you're looking at not just Leicester but all over the world. I bet we'd shift a huge amount in Thailand and i'm sure a huge amount of Leicester fans would buy in. Whether we'd cover it or not is debatable granted but there's no doubt we'd shift a huge amount, and even if it didn't cover his wages then it would put a huge dent in the cost.
southdevonfox Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 to be fair who who would swap LA for leicester? parts of leicestershire are very nice but still, not quite the same is it. he could move to devon ( cream teas ) then i could car share with him to the games
Jace Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 he could move to devon ( cream teas ) then i could car share with him to the games save a seat for me if this happens Ill even give becks petrol money
southdevonfox Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 save a seat for me if this happens Ill even give becks petrol money if we could get enough to fill the car that would bring him down south , think of the saving on fuel , i would even throw in a cream tea .
Len Finsbury Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 I'd even buy one of those cheap, made by 7 year old Indonesian kids shirts to get his name on the back.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 I'd actually love him here, And would welcome him with open arms.
jonthefox Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Did anyone notice the comment from the derby fan?.
Guest ttfn Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 I am a massive Beckham fan, but I think that most are agreed after Saturday, that success will come easiest with a free-flowing, fast-passing midfield. I don't see Beckham fitting into that; I see him more as a much, much better version of Wellens.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Most certainly, I would like him here, but I don't think we are that good. Can but hope, though.
skinnydipper Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 From the article - "I spoke to him about Leicester. Beckham, he will never say no to me - he says, 'Sven, we'll see, we'll see'. So, Ulrika, Nancy, Fariah and now Becks. All unable to refuse Sven. The man has special powers.
panky and our gang Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 I know a better way to sell more shirts , halve the price and stop changing the bloody strip every two years . Sod Beckham .
m00nie Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 i cant get over the people saying no.. WTF people all banged on about oakley n howard etc must be great in the changing room.. fk me this is David Beckham.... you dont cap england and play for the teams he has for nothing... i cant see how anything bad could have happened from it.. can read the game, still put in a cross , set piece, attract more fans (who cares if it takes beckham to get them through the door ) sell more shirts, his experience on and off the pitch.. no need to play him 90 minutes every game... cant see him ever coming though..
bluesbrothers Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Uhh, he doesn't HAVE to live in Leicestershire to play here? If our county really is that sh*te, which I don't believe it is, there are plenty of nice places in the surrounding counties. Some posh mansion in the Peak District near Matlock - hour's drive - whyever not? I highly doubt Becks lives within minutes of the LA Galaxy training ground. As for the player coach role, it would be great, but I thought Bruno Berner was lined up for that when his contract expires? In an ideal world, I'd take both, but yknow...

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Geez even made the newspaper over here......literally the only overseas football story is about Leicester
Guest MattP Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Can anyone give me the reason as to why you want him coaching players? I have never even considered him as a coach and I don't think specialist corssing coaches are used yet. If we were looking at a promising English coach who has a great knowledge of the game I'd be begging Paul Scholes to come here to work with Andy King before Beckham came with Billy Bates's fun fair.
acooling08 Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 He would be a bit of an unwanted distraction for me. You want him to take corners and set pieces but he's too slow for the Championship.
Saxondale Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 What's with all this 'he'll never live in Leicestershire' bollocks? a) This is irrelevant and b) He spent most of his career playing for Man Utd - bearing in mind Manchester is a massive shithole.
