For those who watched the Brum game on BBC1

Keown was shocking, so off the mark with almost everything that went on.

I can't believe how they pretty much ignored Beausejour on Peltier.

That was an awful challenge.

Reminded me of Ryan Taylor's tackle on Waghorn that he got away with 2 seasons ago.

In fact there was 2, that one, and then the obvious second yellow that the ref didn't give in the second half. 2 terrible decisions.

Camera work was poor and we did miss action when showing replays.

I do remember during the QPR match in 2009 how Sky nearly missed our second goal through showing a replay.

Aye i remember that one. Dont think anyone could have seen Cerny gifting the ball to Fryatt like that though.

....Not overly impressed at Keown being adamant it wasn't a penalty at first, and then declaring it was stonewall the next.

......il take anyone over that Mark Bright though.

Have to admit it wasn't great but in the first half it was probably just as entertaining watching the crown as the action on the pitch. The level of movement was pretty similar between the two. For me though Martin Keown has to be the most uncharismatic commentator and pundit ever. His voice grinds on me as it is so monotone and considering the player he was he don't half sound clueless!

Sav was bigging us up before the game which I knew was a bad sign. Claridges attitude seems to have improved after the Derby win but will no doubt stink again come FLS on Saturday. Which brings me to the final point. We all know how shit the FLS is so why the hell did we expect this live coverage to be any better. It's also as if the BBC didn't care about the game with the amount of time before & after given to the pundits. Fair enough the second half was slightly delayed but they barely got a sentence in and 20 seconds of credit roll before the programme ended!

They wont be doing it for much longer so maybe their best people have left for other future providers knowing they will be part of the cull which is imminent.

The game was so poor that interlacing the transmission with extracts from CBeebies would have raised the enjoyment level significantly.

It was very poor coverage to be honest....I hated the fact that instead of just showing the game they would zoom in on the bench at Sven and Garth Crooks with a sub heading of who they were!

Commentary was poor, game was poor and if BBC continue to show all games like this...they'll be losing a lot viewers to Sky and even ESPN

Rather than moan about it on here, write to the BBC and moan about it.

Beeb management have already sacked thousands of skilled staff and are now culling 2000 more, so expect to see more mistakes and shoddy quality. The same management produced a report earlier this year claiming that nobody has noticed a drop in the quality. If more people complained then they'd be forced to do something about it

It's funny how people find ways to moan about anything when we've has a less than perfect perfoemance.

If we'd have won, this topic would never exist.

Onwards and upwards

I did! Here is their response:

Thanks for contacting us regarding 'Match of the Day: Birmingham City v Leicester City' broadcast on BBC One on 16 October.

I understand that you felt our coverage of the match was of poor quality, with too many close ups of the players and officials, and too many replays, often missing short passages of play.

Whilst I appreciate your frustration, in covering live matches such as this we try to provide our audience members with as much in depth coverage as possible, including replays of what are, subjectively, key moments as well as capturing the reaction of players and fans alike. It is obvious that with such a wide and diverse audience there will always be aspects of our coverage that does not appeal to everyone, which is in the nature of broadcasting.

Nevertheless, we’re guided by the feedback we receive and I can assure you I've registered your complaint on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that's made available to all BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive Board, channel controllers and other senior managers.

The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content.

Thanks for taking the time to contact us.

"It is obvious that with such a wide and diverse audience there will always be aspects of our coverage that does not appeal to everyone, which is in the nature of broadcasting" - I would think most people would want to keep up with the live action myself...

I actually think Sav has laid off us a little since retiring, I think a lot of his arrogance towards us was purely down to the fact he couldn’t be seen to like us in any way due to him being derbys captain, it's pretty clear he enjoyed his time with us.

Claridge on the other hand seems to have a bit of a grudge against us, he doesn’t seem to like Sven at all, he's never got a nice word to say about him.

Well done for taking the time and the trouble to write to them. Most people don't bother, which is a shame, because broadcasters genuinely do pay attention to these "audience logs". If they got a number of complaints similar to yours, you could bet your life they'd do something about it.

It might encourage the beancounters to do a little less cost cutting, so BBC staff will be thanking you as well

Well done for complaining to that bloated, opinionated and over-managed buerecratic hellhole we're all forced to pay for known as the BBC.

But if the cuts are affecting the quality of broadcast, which is seemingly the official excuse we're getting, why arent all these BBC managers and fatcats taking the fall?

I could make the same accusation for every single bleeding council in the UK right now - Labour, Lib Dem and Tory.

And given their seeming disgust at the cuts, the Labour councillors who refuse to take a paycut while closing libraries and council services are the worst of the worst. Scum, i think is the word.

Tangent rant over! Bring on the Millwall.

I think a lot of managers are taking the fall. Of course they're not being "sacked". These days they call it "flattening", so that there's only 5 layers of management between the tea boy and the director general, instead of the 20 layers they had before.

No doubt some fat cat is raking in an extra large bonus for coming up with that idea

More people did complain - I typed in 'M' for 'Match of the Day Live', and 'Match of the Day Live: Birmingham City v Leicester City' came up as predictive text - although it's impossible to know exactly how many did complain, but lets hope it was relatively high!
