moseeds Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 I believe the majority of fans are as stunned and disappointed as I am in hearing about the sacking of Sven. For all his faults he was trying to build something special here. Just 11 months ago threads on here were proclaiming City to be a premiership team playing in the wrong division. Reading the Guardian article one particular paragraph stood out: It is understood that Eriksson was so upset after Saturday's performance that he called an emergency meeting with the Leicester players on Monday morning and told them that he was fortunate to still be in a job. He divided the players into three separate groups and asked them to write down why they thought things were going so badly wrong. The defeat against Millwall was Leicester's third at home in seven league matches' date=' and the Swede had become increasingly frustrated with the team's failure to find any consistency. [/quote'] There are reports of Sven leaving the training ground in tears. This man cared about his job and from all his interviews it seems he cared about success at this club too. I for one wish Sven farewell as like Holloway before him, I am sure he will achieve much greater success elsewhere. Adieu Sven :sge: Guardian article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/oct/24/sven-goran-eriksson-leicester-city

Leicesterpool Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 it's simply unfair for the bloke, I just hope the owners know what there doing! If McClaren comes in the attendances will drop.

Larry_LCFC Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 So angry with Top. Yeah he may throw all the money he likes at the club but he has made a completely idiotic decision. Sven should have had until christmas. Now we have no manager going into a masive game and when we do appoint someone, it will take them months to work out what the **** to do with our squad. Love you sven
FoxesAreBlue Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 If McClaren comes in Top can have my season ticket back
MC Prussian Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Thank you for the winning record, thanks for the calm and thoughtful comments, thanks for your likeability and your smartness, thanks for bringing all these good players in, thanks for getting respect from most of these players. Thank you for having stuck around for so long - close to thirteen months is a long period in modern football. Sorry to see you go this early and sorry that you've become just another victim of the football business. Not for the first time in your career. All the best in your future football management career. And should you call it quits for good, I would absolutely understand it.
Guest shearfox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 The guy obviously wanted to do a great job here, he wasn't here for the money. I'm not remotely happy with this decision and for me only one appointment can satisfy me that's Martin O'Neill
MC Prussian Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Fun is that what you call it? It was loads of fun on Saturday! Guess what - it's going to be a lot more fun comes this Saturday!!! Remember Middlesbrough vs. Manchester City in 2008? 8-1. Enjoy!!
Corky Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 We had some very good games under Sven. The three Derby matches, Man City at home, Millwall at home last year, Doncaster, Burnley. It's a shame it didn't work out but I have no ill feelings towards him.

Jace Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Sven did use his contacts and power to persuade many decent players to move here this season lets be thankful to him for that and hope the next manager can give them a kick up the ass and get the best out of them this season.
Vacamion Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 He divided the players into three separate groups and asked them to write down why they thought things were going so badly wrong. What? That is 3rd rate middle management, not the tactics of an internationally renowned manager on a generous contract. That said, he seemed a nice man. Good luck to him in the future.

Larry_LCFC Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 get over it this is football not a dating website come on top get someone who knows what there doing GET OVER IT?!? ARE YOU ****ING MAD? We have just lost a great man as manager for no good reason at this time in the season. Granted we are inconsistent but at the end of the day we are still only 2 points of playoffs. Completely shit timing. If you want someone who knows what they're doing then sven was the man.
mbmb10 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 May still chant his name at West Ham( if we don't have a new manager by then)
Fox92 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Put yourself in the boots of the owner. You give Sven millions and he spends it. Yet performances haven't been that good, certain results have been very poor and the players don't look determined or motivated. It is life at the end of the day.

Yet performances haven't been that good, certain results have been very poor and the players don't look determined or motivated. It is life at the end of the day. It's OCTOBER!!!! Also why do you keep harping on about motivation/determination/organisation? We have beaten some of the best teams in the division, two points from the play offs and consistently kept clean sheets. What more do you want? If you thought just by spending a lot we would be walking this league you were really kidding yourself.
Zingari Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 I wonder how they broke the news to him. I think Top would have told him he is now “duty free”
