RonnieTodger Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 With all this Sven talk and who's coming in or not, it might prove to be a good thing for Stowell as he could be able to get the job done for Saturday, and go about this week's business quietly and hopefully for the players too. Or it could work against us and be on the players minds. What do you think?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Pressure Lifted if we win Distratction if we lose any other excuse if we draw
Guest MattP Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Doesn't actually matter, whatever the score people will only be talking about who the new gaffer is or is going to be.
Master Fox Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Pressure lifted when we lose 4-0 and everyone comes to terms with that we're shit, like we always are.
lcfcnugent Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 it will be used as an excuse if we lose because we wont have a permanent manager and we will be 3 points down <_<
Corky Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Might allow the team to play without fear and express themselves.
Donut Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Pressure lifted. Stowell & Rudkin will be managing us for one game. So they can put a thorough and good weeks training into the team this week, there are no other agenda's to deal with other than setting up a competitive team for saturday. A win would be magnificent, but people will quickly forget a defeat because the priority is getting the new man in. And they know that whatever the situation, its West Ham away, a difficult game. But the pressure is now on the Hammers. Theyll be expected to beat us.........but you should always beware of the wounded animal. Id bet in training, and the dressing room before the game will be absolutely buzzing, and i could definitely see us getting something from the game.
themotivator Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 any speculation as to how this match will go is pretty useless... i mean even more useless than every other week. it could go either way.
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 I wonder what formation stowell and Rudkin are gonna play? 4-4 fookin 2? I wonder.....
Jaspa Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 I wonder what formation stowell and Rudkin are gonna play? 4-4 fookin 2? I wonder..... Do ya remember what Stowell / Powell combo used? My hope would be 4-2-3-1, ---------------Kasper Pelts--Bamba--Ledge--Konch ---------Gelson--Johno Lloyd--------King--------Nuge ------------Beckford Or something simular
Kitchandro Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 The pressure was lifted last season when Sousa was sacked but that was because most of them clearly didn't like him or believe in him. This time it's different, a number of the players we know were unhappy and shocked by Sven's departure and I can't believe none are worried about what they've let themselves in for. This is why I thought it important to bring in a replacement almost immediately, or in other words to have lined up someone before sacking Sven. I think this will be a distraction and I think the players would have been short on confidence coming into it anyway. No matter who the manager is, or isn't, they just got convincingly beaten at home and I'm sure some of them were rightly embarrassed. With everything up in the air I think it will be hard to pick themselves up for what is a game they probably feared anyway. I expect a committed performance this time but I expect no points.

With Sven in charge or not, I never expected to come away from West fackin Ham with any points. One point would be a super result

One point would be a super result Me neither, and yeh I'd be very happy with a draw, a loss and gap is 8 points - all of a sudden there's not quite a mountain, but a large hill to climb.
Number 6 Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 Pressure lifted imo. Think WHam will be expected to win now. We'll put in a spirited performance but ultimately lose I think.
Ashley Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 Pressure lifted I think personally but I can also see a 'distraction' aswell. The whole of our squad will be wanting to impress the new manager so I'm suppose all will be battling in training for positions saturday. I'm sure the first thing the new manager will do is watch the performance from saturday when he takes over. Few scenarios I can see happening saturday. Leicester are dominating the game against West Ham, we have an answer for everything that they do against us yet we still don't score from the ammount of chances created and shots on goal we have, West Ham breaking and score a 85+ minute goal and go to win the game 1-0. The other way round to the above and we win 1-0. We go to West Ham and they put at least 3 past us.
Fox92 Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 I wonder what formation stowell and Rudkin are gonna play? 4-4 fookin 2? I wonder..... Hopefully! Lets get some width involved, and inject some pace into our slow midfield.
VinceNoir Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 I reckon we should just go for it and try to beat them. Kasper - Peltier, Bamba, St. Ledger, Konchesky - Johnson, Wellens, King - Danns, Dyer, Nugent. 4-3-3 when attacking, 4-5-1 when defending. Danns and Dyer have plenty of pace and that's what we need in our midfield. The Watford and Millwall games were so slow and despite the fact that Peltier and Konchesky were always in acres of space, no one seemed to ever find them. If we add Danns and Dyer to our wide play, I'm sure players like Wellens and Johnson will be able to find them and if we get their players to worry about that, then it leaves King to exploit the gaps through the middle, which I believe he can. No reason to settle for a point here, I'm sure the lads will be well up for it. Having said that, I'd be happy with a point, I just honestly believe we can go there and win.
AyewJoking Posted 26 October 2011 Posted 26 October 2011 What of Stowells concentration, surely he and the rest of the backroom staff must be nervous about being sacked if and when a new boss comes in and appoints his own staff?
