Wherethefoxhat? Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 If no MON ..........This is who i think would fit the bill !
Leicesterpool Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Is style of football is sh*t, just took one club & that was charlton, did nothing at West Ham. No for me
accessory Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I doubt he's even applied. He didn't seem particularly enthusiastic when Sky asked him about the job last week.
cc_star Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Would prefer Curbishley to some of the supposed bigger names mentioned Keane, Grant especially. It's still MoN > Hughes/DiMatteo/Davies > anyone else > dogshit > McLaren/Keane for me
dannythefox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I would take him over Keane/Grant/Jones any day of the week!
Zingari Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I've got an impressive CV mine's looking a bit ropy these days
davieG Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 mine's looking a bit ropy these days you always find something
Corky Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I've got an impressive CV You're now third favourite for the job Davie
Guest MattP Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Can't understand why anyone wouldn't want him. Look at his CV.
Corky Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Can't understand why anyone wouldn't want him. Look at his CV. I agree. People go on about Warnock and the like, yet Curbishley got Charlton promoted and kept them very comfortable for six seasons. He did a brilliant job there.

muzzy1981 Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Don't care if he plays defensive, if it means we win games get promoted and stay up. Has an amazing record, only question I would have is whether he has been out the game for too long and doesn't have the player knowledge.
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 2 November 2011 Author Posted 2 November 2011 Can't understand why anyone wouldn't want him. Look at his CV. Exactly ............first class ! I've got an impressive CV What in .......modesty ?
Thracian Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Curbishley is a decent manager but his football is so boring it's perhaps best watched through dark glasses. Having been positive at Burnley, let's stay positive - and get OGS! .
Fox92 Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 I like Alan Curbishley and always have done. He did very well with Charlton, keeping them in the Premier League for years. He does have an impressive CV, but so does Sven Not sure whether I'd want him in now, personally; I'd go for Lee Clark or Billy Davies first.
Ric Flair Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Love Curbishley back in the day, always wondered why he hasn't managed again in the last 3 years. He knows how to play the transfer market as well, especially abroad. Some of his signings for Charlton were phenomenal for a pittance.

Just worried about him being out of the game so long.........does he still have the hunger, or does he prefer the life of a TV pundit!
tomtom Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Just worried about him being out of the game so long.........does he still have the hunger, or does he prefer the life of a TV pundit! Just because he's not managed a club for a while doesn't mean he's not been constantly watching football or learning new coaching methods MON has "been out of the game" for a while but you'd have him!....curbs would be a good choice and less of a gamble than Clark
davieG Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 What in .......modesty ? Humour mine's obviously not as sharp as Zingari's
