So why no announcement of Pearson?

Still nothing from #hcfc or #lcfc which is staggering. Not all's well with this deal that's clear, is it alive or dead? Fans need answers

When was the last time anything official was posted?

It's all very well saying it's going to happen and don't worry but we are approaching 3 weeks managerless, fine in the closed season but madness at this time when we are supposed to be going all out for promotion, if this was happening to another team we would be laughing about it, what a bleedin mess!!! :frusty:

what I don't understand is that in 'football' terms the sums being bandied around are relative peanuts. Surely if we value Pearson (and presumably we do as he's our first choice?) then just pay up and look happy. Yeah they may think they've got one over on us but so what, IF (and I know its a big IF) he gets us promoted then they'll get the money back and some........

and if we don't then fvck me, we wasted more on Beckford than it'll cost for Pearson and co. (and they can always sell a bit more duty free tat in Thailand to get the money back)

I was over the moon when i heard pearson was coming back but i really cant see it happening now! The whole thing has gone on for too long therefore i believe the owners have lost patiance and are looking elsewhere hence the defining silence on the whole situation! If it happens now ill eat my foot!

I think he will just resign, Hull fans aint gonna want him there after all this and he knows it, Burnt too many bridges now. I dont think we got nothing to worry about NP will be are manager before the league starts again.

I hear the hold up is because our owners won't pay the compensation due to release Shakespeare and Walsh. The fee agreed is for NP, but i hear that the backroom guys are on big money (175K a year when last at city i'm told)and that agreement must be reached. It'll happen tho, i'm sure of that.

This would make sense.

Everyone needs to stop panicking, it will happen, just taking an irritating amount of time.

Can't really blame Hull for dragging their heels over this and trying to wring as much cash out of us as possible but NP's job is pretty much untenable now so an agreement will be reached in the end, and if not, a tribunal will sort it out which means even more delay unfortunately.

The only fear for me is that the Thais decide they've had enough and decide to look elsewhere.

Why are people in such a rush? We have a week until our next game, why would the owners want to rush into anything and end up paying over the odds?

3 weeks is a rush? where have you been mate, I understand these things take time but if they wanted Pearson couldn't they have negotiated during those first two weeks, or was Nigel Pearson not first choice then?

3 weeks isnt long at all.. especially if it wasnt a planned parting which it seems like.

They would have had to get in all applications, look at those, look at whos not applied but available, look at whos not applied but employed elsewhere.. All takes time. they would have seeked advice also.

Even now they dont want to be held to ransom and so are playing it out.

The whole saga contrary to peoples beliefs seems to have all been done very professionally which we should be pleased about

Let's be honest. The owners have cocked up. They sacked Sven, and thought the new manager, probably N.P., would walk straight through the door. They are so naive, it is beyond all comprehension. With the two week break, I think most posters also assumed the manager would have two weeks to work with the team, prior to the next game. Wrong, it hasn't happened, and N.P. just can't walk out on Hull, and become manager here, as one or two seem to think.

Welcome to the real world of football, TOP, and realise you have well and truly miscalculated.

they havent cocked up at all.

we dont know what happened with sven (some may wanted him to stay longer ) but at the end of the day they felt the need to sack him.

they have then gone about looking for a suitable candidate and if you actually look at it they have realised that promotion is better than current exposure and have gone for a manager who they feel can achive that. without having to go for a "big" name manager..

theres still over a week before rhe next game so plenty time for them to sort the compensation out.

(this is all coming from someone who dont even want NP but believe they are doing things the right way)

Apparently Radio Humberside are saying that both sides are "softening" and they expect positive movement in the next 48 hrs.

Sounds like it could be on course for Tuesday

Sorry, beaten to it.

Agreed, I don't think they went into that meeting with Sven with the idea of sacking him, I think they wanted him to move upstairs and oversee the hiring of a new manager in the DoF role.
