So why no announcement of Pearson?

Where did I say I know it's a few hundred thousand? I'm going from reports from both local papers and the point still stands that we have spent millions on under performing players yet unwilling to pay for a decent manager!

5m on mills and they are haggling over a few hundred thousand... I get we don't want to be mugged off but seriously if that's true just pay the money!

There is no certainty that they would get us into the play offs. And if they did, it would not mean that we would definitely be promoted. And if we were promoted would you be confident that either of them could keep us up? I am not. I want a manager with a long term strategy, not someone who will "definitely get us in the play offs". Remind me of their respective records in the play offs? And for that matter their records in the Premier League?

Granted Jones did a decent job with Southampton but he consistently failed to win promotion with a good squad at Cardiff even though he definitely "got them into the play offs" on more than one occasion.

I'm not even going to start on Davies. Why anyone is enthusiastic about the possibly of appointing Davies is beyond me. I don't think he is a long term appointment, he would be a stop gap, a panic appointment. He is also a complete bellend.

So yes, I find the idea of either being given the job rather disagreeable and quite terrifying.

As far as I'm concerned I'm only looking at their credentials for getting teams into the play offs because frankly I'd be delighted just to get into the play offs after our start.

They both have fantastic records for getting teams into the play offs, ignore their records in the play offs. It's a lottery, anything can happen, you can't always blame the manager.

How you can be delighted with Pearson but shitting yourself over Davies or Jones who both have better records is beyond me. Pearson hasn't even been in the premiership to fail yet.

I'd be happy with any of the 3 to be honest.

What are you basing that one? Jones is ok but he's failed with money at Wolves and Cardiff.

Still left them in far better states than when he arrived there.

And he probably isn't interested.

Maybe, but if he's holding out for a Premier job he may be in for quite a wait.

Exactly, they are fecked off and are making things as awkward as possible. Understandably.

I think their lawyers will have prepared for this process and will have gone through the relevant contracts clause by clause. This will be a test of our club's negotiating skills. Hope they can come throough it.

In fairness to Jones, I think there was a little more to it than initially meets the eye. From a Cardiff and Wales supporting mate (I know, unbelievable really isn't it!),. Each time he got a decent side together, due to the financial instabilities at the time, he was made to sell his better players and start again to some extent therefore denying him the opportunity to progress. Many were very sad to see him go and acknowledge him as one of the best managers they've had.

If Top was to call Hull's bluff and just walk away from the deal they would be well and truly knackered as I don't think it would be possible/viable for them to just let Pearson continue now, just imagine their fans thoughts on the issue. Whilst I would be very happy to have NP back, it's business, and if Top has in mind what he thinks is a reasonable amount of compensation that should be paid then he shouldn't and possibly wouldn't be bullied into anything else. After all, NP isn't the only viable option. I have grave doubts personally about Billy Davies i.e. there were allegedly 'other issues' why he got sacked involving money and a burgeoning back room staff made up of family and friends etc. However, I believe both Sparky and Jones are both very good candidates and I wouldn't be disappointed in either one of them.

I said on here yesterday or the day before Top should make em an offer give em an hour to accept it or walk away.

Then get sparky he needs to play hard. Hull may hold a contract but if we walk they have big problems.

Someone replied i was a lunatic.

Hmmmmm am i and now it all seem's to be going wrong.

Our owners want Pearson now. Hull don't want a manager who wants to be somewhere else. I doubt they'd want him on gardening leave either. We'll reach a compromise soon.

Why also do people on here think we are doing something wrong in paoching our man in mid season.

Do they not remember Villa and Wolves what goes around comes around.

Fvck em all's what i say

My mates who support forest said that the other problem with Davies is that he lives in scotland, he only went done to nottingham on the friday and after the game he'd go back to scotland

Could be scaremongering from Hull and I suspect it is but the #lcfc silence isn't helping. I hope the deal still goes through

We have Hull over a barrel the longer this goes on. We'll have made Pearson's job untenable so they either let him come to us or they put him on gardening leave, lose £600,000 in comp and pay his wages and Walsh's and Shakey's. Plus put a new manager in place. It'll be sorted soon. Easy.

This is all you need to read.

I dont recall saying that I was delighted with Pearson. I'm not delighted with Pearson, I would say I'm satisfied, but certainly not delighted. I think the only appointments that would have delighted me would be MON or Hughes.
