Although, as a word of warning we are raving about the youngsters coming through, but they too underperformed at the last U21 euro's against pretty poor teams it has to be said.

A lot of our top youngsters were withdrawn from the championships by their clubs.

Only Carroll and Wilshere from what I remember and they were playing mainly in the senior, well the latter at least.

But Keith Andrews has a stern warning for anyone who thinks they can jump on the bandwagon -- don't bother.

Woodwork

"You could get people coming out of the woodwork, with a granny who came from somewhere in Ireland and that will be a tricky one, if they're not genuine. The group as a whole would stay strong on that and I don't think we'd accept that, to be honest, we'd certainly find it hard to deal with," Andrews says.

Keiren Westwood (born 23 October 1984 in Manchester, Greater Manchester) is an English-born Irish footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Sunderland. He qualifies to play for the Irish national team by virtue of an Irish born grandmother.[1]

Sean Patrick St Ledger-Hall[1] (born 28 December 1984) is an English-born Republic of Ireland international footballer who plays as a central defender for Leicester City. qualifies through grandmother

Leon Julian Brendan Best (born 19 September 1986) is an English-born Irish footballer who plays as a striker for Newcastle United in the Premier League, and for the Republic of Ireland national team.

Aiden McGeady (born 4 April 1986 in Glasgow, Scotland) is a footballer who currently plays as a winger for Russian club Spartak Moscow.[1] Although born and brought up in Scotland, McGeady plays internationally for the Republic of Ireland, a country he qualifies for through his grandparents.

James McCarthy. Although born in Scotland, McCarthy made his competitive debut for the Republic of Ireland on 26 March 2011 in a UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier against Macedonian national team.

Simon Cox. Born in the Reading suburb of Tilehurst,[3] he attended Downsway Primary School[4] and Denefield School.[5] Cox joined his home town club, Reading, at the age of nine.[2]

yeah we wouldn't want that Keith, would we.

I hate how the host nation(s) get seeded in the top pot. I know they always do but I still think its shit. Quite unfair on I think Germany who have had to go into pot two. (I think, if not them it's Holland)

England could end up with Spain, Portugal and France.

Pot 1: Spain, Holland, Poland, Ukraine.

Pot 2: Germany, Italy, England, Russia.

Pot 3: Croatia, Greece, Portugal, Sweden.

Pot 4: Denmark, France, Czech Republic, Republic of Ireland.

could be a tough draw!

If you take the latest UEFA Rankings, the 'Group of Death' would be Spain, Germany, Croatia and Denmark. if it was drawn like that.

I think England's worst permutation would be Spain, England, Portugal and France.

It's pretty obvious what our worst draw could be. We're bound to get at least one of them i'd say.

I'd rather we had a group full of big name teams. I'd rather get thumped by Germany than watch our boys grind out a half hearted 1-0 against Greece. (Ok, I'd rather win than lose but you know what I'm getting at)

Who's with me....................................................................................?
