Fryatt

Plus why would fryatt want to go back he's scoring lots of goals and is settled where he is

Lots of goals?

He has scored four goals for Hull this season. Both Nugent and Schlupp have scored more...

And would the owners really want to replace Beckford already?

If anything attackers is the one position we dont need... Wingers... yes... but not strikers....

Don't all pretend like you don't watch the Hull highlights on The Football League Show just in case he scored.

I'm watching you, you two timing gets.

Seen fryatt a few times this year at hull, has been relatively poor when i've seen him and seems really short on confidence, think alot of hull fans find him frustrating.

We have much better quality already!

Cause I like fairy tails and I've always seen fryatt scoring the winner in a cup final and doing his knee slide celebration at the corner flag. Admit it, he knows where the net is

i know where the toilet is but i dont hit it every time

Don't get me wrong I loved fryatt when he was here but it's a no from me nugent is loads better IMO if Pearson's gonna play any of the old guard he should play Tunchev 😉

no no no, Beckford will come good needs to settle under the right manager, Nugent will score more than Fryatt hands down. Still have Waghorn in the back ground aswell :sweating:

good to see most people have sense! If you watch the football league show, you will see both Fryatt and Hobbs at their best.... last week was the ideal match, Fryatt missed two golden chances vs West Ham and Hobbs was turned for the goal.

On the old BBC606 site I used to get destroyed for daring to suggest that Fryatt was not good enough for the Championship. I always believed that if he was the super striker that everyone loved he would have signed for someone bettter than Hull when he left!!! He is slow and needs 10 chances for a goal. Most fans loved him purely for his song!!

On Hobbs, he is a good old fashioned centre half who the fans loved for his commitment, however he was extremely slow and got turned alot. His short range passing was abysmal, again, why he ended up at Hull and not in the Premier.

Pearson had no choice to but work with these players at both City and Hull, now he will have the funds to truly succeed., As people have posted above, Nugent has shown everyone what a real striker is about! And I`m sure you will agree that Bamba has done the same at centre half.

Lets remember Hobbs and Fryatt for thier fantastic part of our history in winning league 1 ( their level ) and leave that one there.

We don't need fryatt, messi, pepe, tevez or anyone else. We have the versatile world beater Michael 'tubby' ball waiting in the wings. That lad can play anywhere.

Fryatt was never a 'League 1' striker, he just needed confidence and service. He scored some good goals, and in my opinion can keep the ball at his feet very well.

Although I think we could make a bid under Pearson, I am not sure if I want him back. Pearson would have money, something he didn't have before and ok he didn't buy Fryatt, but with the money surely comes more quality.

Don't put it past Pearson to make a bid and sign Fryatt though. They both seem to work well together at a club, and we have seen this before in football. Look at Defoe who left Tottenham for Portsmouth and then went back to North London.

I have to disagree. Fryatt has never proven himself at Championship level, other than to be decidedly average. If he was good enough why did none of the top 6 championship teams or even a premier team come in for him when we sold him?

Not sure how many games you have seen him play, but when you watch him he is definately one step too slow, and needs lots of chances to score. I think people underestimate how much effect Steve howard had on Fryatt`s goal scoring.

You can`t possibly compare him with Jermaine Defoe, a striker who really does know where the net is!

I dont think Pearson will go near Fryatt to be honest.

Fryatt, Hobbs, they're both ordinary. Both have done exactly what I expected at Hull. Fryatt will always score a certain number of goals but how many times do I have to stress that he's limited - he's not fast, not especially strong, cannot head the ball, plays with his head down, doesn't make a lot of goals, only scores up to a certain distance, doesn't hit the near post, and is so one-footed it's sad.

Hobbs is a stopper centre-half, excellent in the air for the most part and reasonably reliable defensively, but vulnerable to anyone with pace and movement. His distribution is ponderous and he's not someone who could naturally support our attack like Bamba. For a big man he doesn't score enough goals either. Yes, he's young enough to improve but I don't think either his running or his thinking will get faster.

No, I'm not saying they are lousy players, I'm saying they are limited players. And not good enough for where we want to go. Look at Hull's scoring record which only serves to emphasise much of what I've said. Trouble is there are Fryatt fans from the Nuneaton area on here and they won't see it that way at all.

Fryatt's level is and always was League 1 for me

Reason being.... He's too slow..

Positionally superb.. But his lack of pace for a striker is his downfall... And that won't get any better

You description of fryatt could also fit beckford at the moment!

Can I just say that I don't see Fryatt as our number one striker, firing us to promotion and keeping us in the Premier League. I'd just like him back in the squad, remember those back to back hattricks? He'd do a job in the cups and be a threat against certain opposition in the league. He can't stop scoring when he gets confidence.

It seems I'm a laughing stock after starting this thread, but I do become very loyal to players who I have liked in the past and perhaps sometimes blinded by it, that's just the way I am :scarf:
