Fox92 Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 You can`t possibly compare him with Jermaine Defoe, a striker who really does know where the net is! Just saying, I wasn't comparing Defoe and Fryatt. There is a reason why one player plays in the Championship and one in the Premier League. I was just indicating that Defoe moved from Spurs to Pompey and then back to Spurs again, which is just comparing the transfer if Pearson went for Fryatt Fryatt's level is and always was League 1 for me Reason being.... He's too slow.. Positionally superb.. But his lack of pace for a striker is his downfall... And that won't get any better True, he did lack pace. There are a few players that lack pace in our team, and I don't think they can ever improve that. I wouldn't go for Fryatt though. We have the money to get better quality, no disrespect, because I like Fryatt as a footballer.
body102 Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 The prolem i always had with Fryatt was that he would create the opening (and we could all see he needed to shoot) but he would then try and take another player on therefore losing the chance of a shot at goal
Jace Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 What would be the point in buying Fryatt back we are already out of the league cup this season?
RyanB89 Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 What would be the point in buying Fryatt back we are already out of the league cup this season? Nice.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 Why people still talk of Fryatt and Hobbs returning, I will never Know. I thought we were ambitious for Premiership football. Why not bring D.J. Campbell back as well, and have a reunion party?
Vlad the Fox Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 I don't believe they will be coming back. They are both players who did a good job for us at a time when money was tight and showed loyalty and commitment to the club, and as a result were fans favourites not so long back. However we are looking upwards towards the premier now and these are not players who will improve what we've got or get us there. If Fryatt scored most of his chances he would of been sold to the premier for millions years ago, not 750K to us and then 1.5m to hull. We bought what we could afford and and got value for money.
tylesta Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 fryatt hobbs fryatt was good at times as was hobbs but wouldn't fancy them back, both great through a league 1 and seem to be struggling now.
ARM1968 Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 Fryups had his chips here I think! Agree with Thracian. He's average at best. Hobbs gets caught out too easily by pace and skill. Could develop though. Taggart was pretty slow, but a beast of a defender.

Why not bring D.J. Campbell back as well, and have a reunion party? You mean the Dj Campbell that has been playing Premiership football for the last two seasons?

sdb Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 I liked Fryatt, and really liked Hobbs, but we have players better than them in those positions now. I'd be disappointed (and surprised) if they returned.
TravellingFox Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 He can stay at Hull, wouldnt mind Hobbs back but not sure where'd he'd fit in with the likes of Bamba, Mills and St Ledger in the squad.
DB11 Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 I remember being delighted when we signed Hobbs! And really, really surprised!!
iancognito Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 Nugent > Fryatt Trouble with Fryatt is that he does a 'Roy Keane' every time he's dropped or is out of favour. He sulks, gets some stubble and acts like a man who couldn't give a sh!t. Don't get me wrong, he proved a lot of people wrong with his goals in Pearson's first spell here and he can do a job at this level but there's much better options out there, that's even supposing Pearson wants more than Nugent, Waghorn, Howard and Beckford
paddy Agyemang Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 I want waghorn back and James Chester from hull that's it
Walshy5 Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Id definitely have Hobbs back! Not Fryatt though. A Mills and Hobbs partnership at there best would be awesome! and two players i reckon pearson would get the best out of with the way he plays.

Guest Col city fan Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 I remember being delighted when we signed Hobbs! And really, really surprised!! Agree with this.. Jack Hobbs was considered as the best young centre back to come through Liverpools ranks for some time. I'd love to see him back as I think he's a very good player and will get better..
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 You mean the Dj Campbell that has been playing Premiership football for the last two seasons? Yup! That's the geezer. What a wonderful player, and a player who always gave 101%. :crylaugh:
Walshy5 Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 So would you drop bamba? I dont think pearson would like Bamba
Nickfosse Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 I liked Hobbs as defender though got exposed at Man City last year. Unfortunately when attempting to play the ball under Sousa and Sven it was like watching pig trying to **** a balloon at times.
Number 6 Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 If Pearson doesn't like one of the best CBs in the league (Bamba) then we have a problem. Staggering that so many think he will end up dropped under Pearson.
Bugg Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Hobbs apparently only looks good with Chester alongside him. Without Wayne Brown alongside him last season he struggled too. Seems like he needs to have another defender to hold his hand for him to play well.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 I liked Hobbs as defender though got exposed at Man City last year. Unfortunately when attempting to play the ball under Sousa and Sven it was like watching pig trying to **** a balloon at times. Exposed at Man City. Stands no chance against the likes of Palace, Barnsley, Coventry and Doncaster then. He was our best defender and Sven got rid of him foolishly. You dont go from player of the season to shite over night. I'd have him back.
