You'd probably be more concerned if they were boozed up. It's literally only because weed is 'illegal' that there's the stigma. Booze is ingrained in our culture and around the world despite being more disruptive and damaging to health.

Although I'd loathe the day it would probably make more sense to make alcohol illegal and legalise weed.

Ha, you watch that happen just as they introduce safe standing in stadiums. Then we'd be like sod this bring back the seats.lol

Probably just as, but alcohol is already legal and isn't practical to ban, why make it worse?

Why would it be any worse?? at least if it were legal, it would be regulated/controlled to strict qualities or grades. People would know exactly what they are consuming. The way it is at the moment, you don't know what your buying or if it has been laced with anything etc, etc. People always have, and always will consume cannabis in one way shape form or another, along with all other drugs (whether legal or not). In the 21st century we should be able to make our own personal choices as to put whatever substance in our bodies as we choose. If it was as bad as the government make out, why do they issue a licence to cultivate it for medical testing??

To test whether it has a medical benefit?

Ask anyone with MS if it works or not. It works but the boffins are not 100% how. It's worked for loads of different medical issues over the centuries but in this day and age where a law suit is around the corner, every i and t has to be checked crossed and dotted before us humble people can benefit from it.

Peoples views on it are either from a recreational or medical perspective and I think that is where a lot of arguments get crossed. If you were struck down with an illness with which the cure was cannabis, I know what side of the discussion/argument you would be shouting for.

There's a difference between recreational and medicinal. Chemo therapy is a treatment for cancer but you wouldn't take it for a hobby.

I don't take cannabis for a hobby..... and why would anyone do Chemo for a hobby.  I can't see your point here fella??

If the doctors can make medicine out of it and there are no side affects or the plus points outweigh the side effects then nobody has a problem with that. Just because you can make a treatment out of it doesn't mean it's a good idea for everyone.

Show ma a medicine that has no side effects.... I'm on three different ones a day, and all of them have sude effects. I wouldnt give a toss what the side effects were if any drug cured some terminal illness. I bet you wouldn't either

My Step dad has MS and uses small amounts of weed to help him with the pain. He says it makes a difference, he's not a smoker but does sprinkle a bit in his meals I believe

It may not work for every MS sufferer or every sufferer has not tried it. If they could reproduce the effects and be sure it works then they could do a cannabis substitute/. I am sure that if I suffered from it and the prescrined medices did not healp much I would look for alternatives.

Everybody has a different pain threshold.Maybe a few qhiskeys would help too. Not sure I'd pour it on my cornflakes though.

I am sure if they legalise it there won't be thousands of people who will take up smoking weed because they can/ The ones that use it now will just be more open about it so it will look as if the numbers have gone up.

another happy ending due to cannabis....

Nonsense! The Father of the People keeps us safe! We must trust what the State does without question!

in all seriousness I do wonder about things like this though and whether the effectiveness has been exaggerated as a way of sticking it to the man. Since I know nothing of the science I can't comment on whether cannabis is an effective way of treating cancer but I wouldn't be suprised if the anointed ones where keeping good treatments off the market with regulation.

Leicester must have the most cannabis factories per square mile then anywhere else in the UK lol

Where can I get a £10 bag?

If you were to grow your own, you'd never have to ask that question again.
