The_Golden_Gunman Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Serious question - has any other team in the championship made a better signing this year than Kasper? As it stands, Kasper will easily be the goalkeeper in the Championship team of the season.

But leeds for example are exceptionally happy with their new keeper. And on last nights game Gilks is as good.

Pub breath Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Why are yorkshire folk so deluded and up there own arses? I don't follow, what what up my arse about that? Just an opinion. As for deluded.......actually i'm equally as confused about that too. You have lost millions on Kasper and we have got a bargain. Seriously, you need to do some research mate. We got Kasper on a Free transfer. He would only sign a two year contract because if he didn't go up with Leeds, he wanted to be in the Premiership in 2 years (so watch out if you don't go up). A year later, we fall short of going up and we have the option of keeping him for a year and seeing him go for nowt or letting him go to you for £1.5 million (or something close), pocketing a very rice return for our investment and replacing him with an equally good keeper for less (in this case, £1.3m ish less). Do you see now how the very last thing we did here is lose millions?

Kitchandro Posted 30 November 2011 Posted 30 November 2011 Thought the ball was almost straight at him for his save last night, I would expect most keepers to save them. Blackpools keeper pulled off some much better ones when we peppered their goal I thought.
Dan Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 Best keeper I've seen for us that I can remember. Got incredible potential.

You let him slide on the cheap and brought in an inferior keeper (keep trying to convince yourself otherwise but Longergan is as out of place in the championship as a proper drinker in a nightclub).
AdamN Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 You let him slide on the cheap and brought in an inferior keeper (keep trying to convince yourself otherwise but Longergan is as out of place in the championship as a proper drinker in a nightclub). A what? Anyway, I can't see why people are giving 'Pub breath' all this stick. He hasn't said anything out of line, and if Leeds fans are happy with Lonergan and we're happy with Schmeichel, then I don't see what the problem is. An argument over absolutely nothing, basically.
Adster Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 An argument over absolutely nothing, basically. That's FoxesTalk for you.
AdamN Posted 1 December 2011 Posted 1 December 2011 That's FoxesTalk for you. What did you say about my mum?!

From what I hear from my Leeds supporting flat mate (and my leeds suporting family), Lonergan has been pretty great for leeds. Looks like it has worked out well for both clubs.
The Doctor Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 got the blondest hair in the championship Isn't McGivern on loan at Brizzle?
Happy Fox Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/story-14019188-detail/story.html? Paul Konchesky believes Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is one of the best he has ever played with. The former England, Liverpool, Fulham and Charlton Athletic defender said Schmeichel has the potential to be one of the best in the country if he continues to improve. Schmeichel was sold to City by Leeds United in the summer after boss Simon Grayson questioned the 25-year-old's ability. But the Dane has been outstanding for City so far this season and has pulled off some fantastic saves. Konchesky said Schmeichel shared many of similar traits to his famous father, former Manchester United keeper Peter Schmeichel. "He is probably one of the best I have worked with," said Konchesky. "He is only young but he will be up there as if not the best but one of them. "He is like his dad, and everyone knows what his dad was like so hopefully he can follow in those footsteps. You can see that in him, even his communication, and how much he likes to win games. He is like his dad all-round. "He likes to have a scream as well." Schmeichel has kept eight clean sheets in the Championship this season and City have conceded just once in the last three games, and that was a deflected effort at Portsmouth last weekend. Konchesky said that record had given the team a strong foundation. "We have kept eight clean sheets now this season which is good going," he said. "It breeds confidence for the back four and the goalkeeper, as well as the strikers scoring the goals. "If we can keep them out and they can score them then we will have a great run. "It breeds confidence. The manager has come in and set his stall out and everyone has gone along with it. "The training from the first week was livelier and more up tempo. He has kept on since he has been here. That has made a big difference. I think we will go a long way."
Saxondale Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 I reckon, so far, he's the best 'keeper I've seen at Leicester. Bearing in mind we've had some good 'keepers - Keller, Flowers, errr... Kalac
darko2k7 Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 Yea i think i've caught the Man Love Bug for Kasper and Nugent
crafty fox Posted 2 December 2011 Posted 2 December 2011 "kasper schmeichel ....he plays in our goal" "kasper schmeichel ....his hairs f'kin gold" "kasper schmeichel ....he aint half bad" "kasper schmeichel ....better than his dad"
Pub breath Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Errm, yeah, he's worth a lot ****ing more than what we paid for him. Oh I agree, he probably is. The bit you're struggling with it that there was a year left on his contract so we either sold him for what we got or we got nowt in a year. We would never have been able to get his value due to the 2 year contract. Comprhende? You let him slide on the cheap and brought in an inferior keeper (keep trying to convince yourself otherwise but Longergan is as out of place in the championship as a proper drinker in a nightclub). Erm, right you are mate. If it makes you feel better, you go ahead and think that. We're delighted with our keeper thanks
Pub breath Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 From what I hear from my Leeds supporting flat mate (and my leeds suporting family), Lonergan has been pretty great for leeds. Looks like it has worked out well for both clubs. Exactly what I said earlier. Nobody has lost out here, it was great business for all concerned
The Doctor Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Oh I agree, he probably is. So you decided to let him slide on the cheap rather than digging your heels in slightly as Brizzle did with Maynard (granted that didn't come off, but they just dug their heels in too far and demanded far too much - more than what he'd be normally worth)?
Pub breath Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 So you decided to let him slide on the cheap rather than digging your heels in slightly as Brizzle did with Maynard (granted that didn't come off, but they just dug their heels in too far and demanded far too much - more than what he'd be normally worth)? The truth is, he wasn't really a great asset for us anymore. Sensational for the first half of the season, unpredictable for the second half. At times, really, really poor. As much as he's a wonderful keeper on his day, he'd stopped having very many days for us in the later part of the season. Digging our heels in wouldn't have been a logical step for a player who was considered less than an integral part of our team. We have prospered since, even with the almighty cluster**** of Paul Rachubka for 5 games so why did we need to be stubborn about it all. Maynard to Bristol was and is a million timed more important than KS was to us.
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 agent_itk - tottenham have sent scouts to check kasper schmeichel.
