Jimothy Posted 4 December 2011 Posted 4 December 2011 Had a quick search and surprised I couldn't find a thread on this. (Unless I'm blind and missed it) Anyway I was out in Nottingham last night, went for a kebab at the end of the night and Stuart Broad served me! They must know him in there and he was behind the counter helping himself and ending up making mine too. It was pretty surreal end to the night. So it got me thinking, what famous people have FoxesTalkers met?

Fox92 Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 I have met many people, but one of the best has to be Rui Costa (you know, who played for Portugal, Benfica and AC Milan). We used to go on a family holiday to Portugal every year, and when we went in the year 2000, we were laid on the beach in the Algarve. Anway, this man walks past with, probably his wife, and my dad just sits up and says 'that's Rui Costa'. (I think he was playing for Benfica at the time). Anyway, my dad goes over to get his autograph, but the only thing he could sign was the book my dad was reading. So, now, we have Rui Costa's autograph in a Kray Twins book. Rui Costa was a top footballer, and I'll always like him. I can still remember last season when we signed Vitor on loan, and Sven had to speak to Rui Costa. I was like, yeah we've met him. I have met many people though, but I can't meet the man I have always wanted to (in life anyway) (Yes, I mean John Lennon). One ideot had to kill him and spoil it for the rest of us.
General Smuts Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 Did we not do this already and decide Peter Canero in Faces in Essex was the winner?
Saxondale Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 Met Coldplay after they did One Big Sunday in Vicky Park back in 2000 or 01. I climbed through the fence into the back stage area and went and joined them on their minibus while they were waiting for the police to clear the roads for them to leave! Met Annie Mac in Eden in Ibiza. She came and asked to use my lighter so I had a chat! She was well pissed but so was I and I kept telling her she was a legend. Met Gyles Brandreth after his show in Derby the other week that I went to. Met a load of people at BBC TV centre. My ex-girlfriend's brother worked there and he basically took us round meeting loads of people. Had a good chat with Helen Young, Rob McElwee and Peter Gibb (the weather presenters). Also, Huw Edwards held a door open for me! Met Kevin Keegan and Alan Hansen when I was in the sixth form. They were doing some filming at the school over the road from mine so I hijacked it. Ended showing a couple of clips of me chatting to them on BBC One primetime! When I was at university, they used to run a comedy club with a load of North West circuit comedians including the now massive John Bishop and most of the cast of Phoenix Nights. Met lots of them after the shows. Also, I've had a telephone conversation with Ricky Tomlinson! Nice bloke. Met lots of City and Tigers players over the years too.
MikeyT Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 Skin from Skunk Anansie (At a show in 1996) Mark Morrison (randomly on a street in Leicester) James Scowcroft (when i worked at Virgin Megastore in Leicester) Stephen Hughes (when i worked at Virgin Megastore in Leicester) Lilian Nalis (when i worked at Virgin Megastore in Leicester) Roy Chubby Brown (when i worked at Virgin Megastore in Leicester) Halestorm (The entire band at a show in Nottingham last year) Canon & Ball (in a pub before a show I went to see them in, in Norfolk in the early 90's) Think that's it.
General Smuts Posted 5 December 2011 Posted 5 December 2011 I told Huw Stephens at Reading festival that he had a lovely well rounded beard. I wished I could grow such lovely face fuzz. And I literally walked into Mike Atherton on my Birthday in London this year.
