BrumFox Posted 16 December 2011 Posted 16 December 2011 Go to St. Andrews. I live in Birmingham, but I did use to have a season ticket when I lived in Leicester. Basically, on here I always see people slagging off the KP (Walkers, whatever) for having a crap atmosphere, and I'm here to tell those haters that ours is a million times better than Birmingham City's. Earlier in the year I went to the game at St. Andrews, and as anyone who was there will tell you, our fans were the only ones singing. Now I thought this might be because I couldn't hear the Brum fans because we were so loud (not so loud after the second goal mind). However, last night I went to watch Birmingham City (don't hate me, it was £9) to watch them potentially get through to the next round of the Europa league and they were silent for 90 mins. They sang about three, maybe four times, and the 80 or so fans from Slovenia were bouncing around and having a right old time. I've been told by my mate who is a Blues fan that this is always the case and that Birmingham just have no atmosphere ever. I think we are quite harsh on ourselves, every time I go to home games (granted, not often anymore) there does normally seem to be an atmosphere. So next time you think about slagging off our atmosphere, think about Birmingham City (and Cov, obviously)
Yojoe36 Posted 16 December 2011 Posted 16 December 2011 That's because most brum fans fvcked off to Villa Park
jonthefox Posted 16 December 2011 Posted 16 December 2011 Personally i dont care too much for other grounds. Its the kp that bothers me.
purpleronnie Posted 16 December 2011 Posted 16 December 2011 Just because theres a club with even quieter fans that us isnt something to celebrate.
Gold Coast Fox Posted 16 December 2011 Posted 16 December 2011 Try watching Australian 'soccer' they have no atmosphere.
Fox92 Posted 16 December 2011 Posted 16 December 2011 Most teams have a poor atmosphere at home. Yeah, the King Power isn't that good, but, most grounds arn't either. Away games are better, away support is often better for most clubs, and the atmosphere at away games is always better than homes games. It isn't just Leicester, it isn't just Birmingham...
SystonFox Posted 16 December 2011 Posted 16 December 2011 I was watching this game on itv4 and the mrs who was working not watching tv said it sounded like I was watching Sunday league footy cos all she could hear was a manager shouting and players grunting every so often. Shit atmosphere, and for a European game! Shameful
Kitchandro Posted 16 December 2011 Posted 16 December 2011 We are too harsh on our atmosphere. I'm very rarely disappointed with it when I go to home games, yes I'm amongst it but that's the point, hearing the atmosphere from the other side of the ground (or not doing so) isn't the same as experiencing it. I've been to a few grounds where the home support has basically not sung at all. Our atmosphere is bad compared to the 80s at Filbert Street, and probably the 80s anywhere. But compared to most Championship grounds nowadays it's pretty good. It could be a lot better but you could say that about most grounds in this country. Sorry to play this record again but some people are still complaining about the atmosphere every week (which gets annoying when they say they sit in the West Stand).
Lambert09 Posted 16 December 2011 Posted 16 December 2011 Try watching Australian 'soccer' they have no atmosphere. I went to watch an International game as I was craving football when I was traveling I nearly fell asleep because of the silence, you could hear a pin drop when they scored
John Matrix Posted 16 December 2011 Posted 16 December 2011 Try watching Australian 'soccer' they have no atmosphere. the games i went to had some noise
Oh tommy wright Posted 16 December 2011 Posted 16 December 2011 Personally i dont care too much for other grounds. Its the kp that bothers me. Too right mate couldn't care less about brum. I don't wasn't us to have not the worse atmosphere I want us to have the best.

They are no worse than our home support & generally louder in my opinion. I was also at the 2-0 defeat in the away end earlier this season where both sets of fans were silent for 90 mins. One thing Leicester fans were certainly not that day was loud.
purpleronnie Posted 17 December 2011 Posted 17 December 2011 the games i went to had some noise melbourne has a crackin atmosphere, decent group at sydney too.

I'm not doubting you, but they certainly came over clear on the telly and sounded/looked good for a televised game at Sunday lunch time - maybe it was mike placement

I was also sat on the very front row so was a good 15 metres away from our dozen or so singers. We all tried to join in but it never got going. Still, if it came across on the TV then thats good
Maybes Posted 18 December 2011 Posted 18 December 2011 I got labelled 'another delusional city fan' after I stated Birmingham's home atmosphere is terrible.

It'll be a lot more money taking them to the hammers, saints or Middlesbrough...
thejfox Posted 18 December 2011 Posted 18 December 2011 It'll be a lot more money taking them to the hammers, saints or Middlesbrough... get your point, being a long time leicester fan can cause people to be slightly unrealistic. sorry about that!
MrFox781 Posted 18 December 2011 Posted 18 December 2011 Our night games are awful. its always freezing cold maybe thats why.
