Milton Keynes Fox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 I feel that Nige has lost the dressing room and is now panicking - PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG NIGE! i disagree completely
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Big message from Pearson. If its just a case of resting players then I'm sure a couple of them could have made it through today and been rested in the cup next weekend which arguably isn't as important. Hope Tunch and Moore take their chance. Could be quite a big game for Kennedy too seeing as Pearson signed him in the first place and today is the first opportunity he's had to select him.
The Padster Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 "If you can't change the players mentality, you change the players." Love it, for the first time since his arrival I feel Nigel knows what he's doing.
wolfgang amadeus Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 The way its writted on the OS looks like a 532ish formation like some have said. Looks pretty quick going forward although obviously I've not seen Kennedy or Moore. Must be the first time in ages where I've not recognised one of the players on the teamsheet.
thejfox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 NO WELLENS. dont think wellens has been dropped, just rested ,he played ok against portsmouth. i do think konchesky has been dropped though, he was awful dont get how abi is getting in though dont rate him at all
LCFC BEAST Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 @OfficialFOXES: Craig Shakespeare confirms injuries contributed to today's team selection. Liam Moore and Tom Kennedy returning from loans spells to start.
Milan Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 it's good to see that Pearson recognises what an asset Abe is. He will shine without Wellens telling him to move to other positions to cover his slow ass.
cc_star Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 I feel that Nige has lost the dressing room and is now panicking - PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG NIGE! Nonsense! He's inherited a load of non-performing shit 75% of the new signings weren't good enough to get in the team, but their arrival fractured the team spirit & never-say-die attitude that made the existing players perform, so that now they're a shadow of their former-selves He's given them every chance in both 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 and they never performed, although we still picked up points where earlier in the season we lost games when we played poorly Now he's showing everyone he's up for the massive overhaul which is needed with the mess that has been created.
Narborough_fox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 And Abe can fill in as well. Schlupp played Left-back all the way through the pre-season tour.
AmyLGK Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 i disagree completely We have news of dressing room bust-ups, players wanting to leave, players being told to leave, their body language on the pitch - they looked absolutely deflated during the pompey game. I'm a massive Pearson fan and actually cried when he left, but I'm definitely concerned with what I've seen so far. But it's early days and as I finished with, I hope he can prove me wrong!
breadandcheese Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Interesting line-up. Wonder what the formation will be? Do we know what the injuries are?
cc_star Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 "If you can't change the players mentality, you change the players." Love it, for the first time since his arrival I feel Nigel knows what he's doing. Exactly Players got lazy & used to no consequences that came with the hands-off style of management If you accept poor performances, you get them. NP shows through his actions he'll accept nothing of the sort would like to see this formation with Pelts in it through, he'd be a great WB
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Peeps have been whining for him to drop player's and change thing's so they can't whine now. Actually even if we lose this it send's a message to the entire squad that no one is too good to be dropped and that they had best start fighting for their future's here. Absolutely right... As I've been saying for weeks.. Pearson is no mug. His job is on the line and he has shown he WILL drop players and shake things up.. Good luck to him. Here's the important thing though. If we lose, are the same people on here who have been asking for such a shake up then gonna penalise Nige for doing so? I bet they may well might do
NiftyFox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 I thought Kennedy was at Peterborough, this could be a genious move by Nigel or disaster.
ACF Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 I thought Kennedy was at Peterborough, this could be a genious move by Nigel or disaster. He was, recalled on Sunday.
beryllind Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 dont think wellens has been dropped, just rested ,he played ok against portsmouth. i do think konchesky has been dropped though, he was awful dont get how abi is getting in though dont rate him at all dont think wellens has been dropped, just rested ,he played ok against portsmouth. i do think konchesky has been dropped though, he was awful dont get how abi is getting in though dont rate him at all , But Abi as been our best player in the last 2 matches, I agree about Wellens Welly and Gally the dressing room controllers both not in the starting line up !!
Wortho Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 I hope this proves a good team change. I fear we could get hammered, I hope I'm proved wrong. Come on City.
sphericalfox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Interesting selection. Some forced, and some tactical. Fifty-fifty game for me. We could have another drab defensive draw or simply get pounded. Though a win would be great I can't feel it in me waters.
Thracian Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 i thought they said there is no dead wood in the team but king is still playing No-one is pretending King's been playing well but he's not suddenly become a bad player. As mentioned so many times, he and Wellens don't compliment one another and right now King is just trying to be in too many places at the same time and he's not got the athleticism to do it. King can sit deep or play a late attacker role but there's no way he can be defender, playmaker and attacker all at once with any sharpness. I'd like to see the play move through him more so we recover the habit we used to have of passing and moving together. It has served us well on occasions but we couldn't or didn't sustain it throughout matches and that will require us to have alternative players who can maintain the tempo.
Cropwellfox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Absolutely no worries about Kennedy - he's done very well at Posh, he'll run up and down all day and great strike on him. Telling that he's straight in the first possible change NP gets to pick him. Moore will find it more difficult today but there's no chance either of them would have got in under Sven. I think we do need to hope Zaha has an off day though
cc_star Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Injuries contributed to team selection according to official site twitter & Moore & Kennedy were mentioned in that Tweet People saying it's brave, stupid or disaster? How stupid or disaster would it be to play 2 injured players?????? FFS People on this site get more & more dick-ish all the time, it's like they're not happy unless they can blame the manager and get him sacked feck 90% of you!!!

NP shows through his actions he'll accept nothing of the sort would like to see this formation with Pelts in it through, he'd be a great WB I think people are being a bit naive regarding the changes Pearson has made. It's been confirmed that the change in players is mainly due to injury/knocks and the absence of Wellens and Gallagher is most likely due to fatigue as we know Wellens only trains 3/4 times a week and Pearson praised Gally after the Portsmouth match so it's unlikely he has been dropped.
foxfanazer Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 I think today's line up is about more than today's game at palace. Finally the message has been sent out that if u don't play well ur not gonna play. It also shows the fringe players that if they apply themselves in training and stay patient they will get their chance. Ok so we could go out and get hammered today, but we would lose this game with the team that played against Pompey do I think it's well worth doing. Well done nigel
