wolfgang amadeus Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 nice to hear that alan young was in the business of producing kids.
kyleolly Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 The side reminds me abit of the team Paulo Sousa put out at palace away last season!
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Gonna pin mi colours to the mast and say WELL DONE Nige for shaking it up... I will stick with this even if we lose. The changes were needed.. We were shite! Now let's give them and him the time to evolve the team.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Changes made, finally. Win, draw or lose, at least they've happened. Hopefully a couple of players will be rested ready for Forest in the cup on Saturday now.
cc_star Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 No-one is pretending King's been playing well but he's not suddenly become a bad player. As mentioned so many times, he and Wellens don't compliment one another and right now King is just trying to be in too many places at the same time and he's not got the athleticism to do it. King can sit deep or play a late attacker role but there's no way he can be defender, playmaker and attacker all at once with any sharpness. I'd like to see the play move through him more so we recover the habit we used to have of passing and moving together. It has served us well on occasions but we couldn't or didn't sustain it throughout matches and that will require us to have alternative players who can maintain the tempo. that's exactly Wellens problem, because we don't have a dominant CDM he has to tackle back way, way more than he should & then because King's form has been so bad... Wellens needs to be on the end of his own pass. His game has suffered because everyone's forgotten their roles (or had it coached out of them) over the summer. Dropping Wellens is the only solution, followed by lots of work on the training ground, unfortunately over-hauls like what are needed are best done in the summer not during the season
HEGGSY Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 We will win I think this has genious written all over it. (Hopefully )
Thracian Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 He must be resting Konchesky and Peltier who in my opinion are two of our most consistent/ hard working players. They could be injured or ill.
MikeyT Posted 2 January 2012 Author Posted 2 January 2012 dont think wellens has been dropped, just rested ,he played ok against portsmouth. i do think konchesky has been dropped though, he was awful dont get how abi Abe is getting in though dont rate him at all He has played brilliantly last couple of games he has started. What games have you been watching?!
Matt Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 He's made changes, well done. Bamba and Mills still there though.
thejfox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 But Abi as been our best player in the last 2 matches, I agree about Wellens Welly and Gally the dressing room controllers both not in the starting line up !! i agree both welly and gally can look a bit like they rate themselves abit above the rest. but without gally goals and welly grafting i wonder where we would be. we do need changes though ,just hope it works
ithuriel Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 He's made changes, well done. Bamba and Mills still there though. Who else you going to have there? SSL who is leaving? Ball? More youngster's from the youth team?
Cropwellfox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 They could be injured or ill. last thing you want is a half fit Konchesky marking Zaha.....
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 He has played brilliantly last couple of games he has started. What games have you been watching?! Abe has been the best player the previous two games. This does show how shite we have been though
BlueSi13 Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 If Peltier and Konchesky have apparently played badly enough to be dropped, then what is Mills still doing in the starting line up? Does that totally unwarranted armband now make him undroppable?
Jagdinho Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 there's 5 on the pitch, if 1 has to go off we'll revert to a flat back 4 Why waste a position on the bench? 5 defenders? Abe can play right back, Schlupp is a left back too. So really we have potentially 7 defenders playing.
evs_the_fox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Regarding Konchesky, he struggled against Zaha the other week so IF he is carrying a knock or whatever then it's probably wise to rest him. How Kennedy does only time will tell but, after seeing Zaha give Konch the run around only 2 months ago, im all for it.
cc_star Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 If Peltier and Konchesky have apparently played badly enough to be dropped, then what is Mills still doing in the starting line up? Does that totally unwarranted armband now make him undroppable? INJURED! ffs Although, Konch needs pressure placing on him IMO
ScouseFox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 There's a point, Konchesky was superb against a very tricky Zaha last time. Be interesting to see how Kennedy copes.
Thracian Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Have you seen much of Moore Thrac? What's he like? I watched him a couple of seasons back but don't think I've ever seen him play full-back - he was always at centre-back or in central midfield. I liked him, he did the easy things well, pressed keenly, showed good strength and often played a part in important moves. But it was a long time ago and and i'll be as interested to see how he copes as anyone else.
Guest shearfox Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Wonder how much work we have put into this formation on the training field... I would guess none... Still can't be worse than before...
cc_star Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 Mills berating Bamba already Superb individual, but will never be a partner you can rely on to anyone
BlueSi13 Posted 2 January 2012 Posted 2 January 2012 INJURED! ffs Although, Konch needs pressure placing on him IMO Relax. But with five defenders on the pitch it seems that Pearson has already set out his stall to look for a draw. Perhaps that wouldn't be such a bad thing with Crystal Palace at home being a danger for any team in this division.
