Malcolm Christie ...

According to Skysports website on the Your view section, which is very much based on the dodgy rumours section on another website, it states CL was seen at East Midlands Airport meeting Malcolm Christie. Could be complete and utter bollox but I hope it could be true.

Good player but like KC said abit Injury prone.

He turned down joining Leicester to go to Derby years a go.

I think he is a quality player but inevitably injuries are going to be a worry.

Interesting but he is lacking in match practise and hasnt played properly for a while so who knows what hes going to be like. But still...its better than nothing atm.

he looked pretty decent when he made his comeback from injury last season,

im sure he got a couple of goals, would be good in the championship

There is alwyas the hope that injury prone players suddenly have change of luck. It doesn't happen. Some players are physiologically tough and physically malleable enough to "ride" or withstand all sorts of buffeting. Others are forever on the treatment table and Christie's one of em. Flatters to deceive anyway, in my view. Goals per season record?

why we talking about this, he aint gonna join, this is just a bag of bollox and you all know it!

How do you know though?

because it is a RUMOUR!

rumours are true in footie talk about 1 in 100, purely for the fact that someone will join.

Look at last season. On that bloody NORFOX.net or what ever is it. They came up with about 10 transfer targets a day. When MA announced the transfers almost none had been mentioned before. Like when we were looking for a new manager, there were about 10 names in the hat, and not one was Craig Levein.

Romours are nearly always false, so I dont understand why people talk about them as if we are going to get them and how they will be good for the team. All this coming from a fat bloke in a pub with a pint in his hand saying, "aint we menna be gettin that fella?" then it just spreads round.

Im going to look a right tit, when we do sign Christie, so dont bother quoting me or laughing at me :)

I must say I do enjoy these stories about secret assignations at airports/hotels/motorway caffs involving the manager and the player like something out of the "Ipcress File". Is it not much more likely that the players agent and a club apparatchik exchange e-mails on terms and conditions once CL has said he wants to make an offer on the player.

Still best not let the facts get in the way of a good (or even mediocre) story

O'neill wanted him on an extended trial as nuneaton wanted 50k which O'neill wouldnt pay straight away. While they were negociating derby came in with the 50k, nuff sed. B)
