Leicester looking at players, personal terms with Sharp are on going, some players need to leave however before many other signings #Lcfc

Thought Sharp wasn't coming?

I appreciate some of your opinions. But, what the **** else is he going to say? "We're doomed, may as well write this season off! This team is shit, and I can't be arsed!" Jeeeeeeeez. I understand 75% is still his team, but they've been away from his coaching for 18 months. It's not just going to happen for him unfortunately. Why are some of you unable to see this that for us to be promoted in a sustainable way, we have to BUILD not a team. Unbalanced ! what a crock of shite, whats unbalanced ? stupid excuses from a stupid man (manager is not the word that should be used on Taylor part 2 )

Some fools in this thread think we should have signed 10 players already, forgetting there is a lot that needs to go 1st, we don't want them causing a stink in the background for when people do come in they need to lift spirits & not be dragged down by the dross that's being paid a wage currently.

If we're to sign players then clubs will need to replace them before we can which is tough in Jan

T-i-m-e

One would be nice given that he's been saying for two months that he needs new players.

I understand why everyone's frustrated after today's performance but it doesn't really excuse the level of idiocy.

Pearson has inherited a disjointed squad put together by Sven. It was so disjointed that Sven didn't know who to play or in what formation, despite buying the players with a supposed plan. Pearson has to repair this damage and due to the limitations of the transfer window, has not been able to do anything as the window's been shut until now. Regardless, Pearson is getting stick for not having got any players in, with the excuse that the window's been open for 14 days.

Interestingly, there's been very little movement in the 14 days the window's been open, so it seems that a lack of movement is a problem afflicting all clubs. We've made bids for players, we're not standing there idle or clueless.

Basically, giving Pearson stick at this early stage when he's trying to clean up Sven's mess is ridiculous. He is the right man for the job and next season we will be a much stronger team challenging at the right end of the league.

Remove your tongue from his arse and at least be slightly objective.

People are getting frustrated because despite playing with players who have been fine in the past and others that have done jobs at other clubs at this level and higher, we are performing like garbage.

We're playing 1 up front at home. That sums up Pearson's tenure here so far for me.

Gonnnerdoo City! How many "major rebuilds" are we going to have before a manager comes in and manages?

To a degree, with good managers, it doesn't matter what players they've got. They improve the players performance whatever.

People have mentioned midfield but our failings aren't just about the midfield. We're letting ourselves down everywhere because whatever system we play only exposes a different weakness or limitation.

Pearson wants to play with width but we've no right winger so we play five across midfield with a makeshift right winger and leave Nugent with no chance in attack.

If we go 4-4-2 we're left exposed because the weakness on the right is so easily exploited and we don't have a natural pairing in the centre.

With our current players we actually seem most suited to 3-5-2 but right now it doesn't matter what system we play because half the players know they're not wanted and there's to unity, no philosophy and no desire within the team.

The Thais took a major risk in sacking Sven at the time they chose because they believed they would lift morale with a new appointment but in fact they've sapped it.

We didn't really want an essentially defensive manager to follow Sven. We needed someone inspiring to take our passing style, improve it and add more impact.

But I've still been surprised at the degree to which Pearson seems to have lost the collective goodwill of his players. That wasn't an all-for-one, one-for-all group out there yesterday. That was a mellee of individuals, some of whom seemed drained by frustration.

Just a few behaved like true professionals.... Kasper, Konchesky, Dyer, Nugent and perhaps Tunchev as well.

The rest looked collectively indifferent, disgruntled, disheartened.

And the fans looked on disbelieving that so much money and so much so-called managerial and coaching expertise could produce such a limp-wristed shambles... just as the last managerial and coaching "experts" had done and the ones before that going back years really.

Like I've mentioned Leicester City need to start standing for something and they need to build a team of players who can represent that philosophy.

If we're going to be a passing team there's no point picking people who can't pass. If we're going to be a counter-attacking team there's no point having attackers who are too slow.

If we're going to press up on people it's no use having players who lack energy and determination. But does anyone know what we do? A lot of the time even the players seem unsure and definitely unconvinced.

It's as if they don't believe in themselves and daren't actually commit themselves to anything. If defenders move forward in support they're exposed, if pass-and-run breaks down gaps are exploited in midfield and we just don't have sufficient threat in the striker roles to worry anyone.

And that's what's got to change. We've got to start frightening people. We've got to make the opposition start worrying about us and how to contain us. Different people have different ideas about how best to do that. Me, I'd go with pace and passing. Anyone who wilfully squandered possession would be a liability to me.

Can't wait for Fryatt, N'Guessan, Adams, Neilson, McGivern, Verma and Astrid Adjerivic to return.

You joke, Atleast they were shit and 'cheap(er)' as opposed to shit and expensive in what we currently have!

And you cannot deny they were in a successful team, regardless of if the individuals played or not I know what team i'd choose out of the two teams/squads.

Posted

It's the manager's job to make individuals play as a team .... and the whole of midfield is a shambles but 5/6ths of them were NP's signings!!!!

The more I read people defending NP the more i get worried about about the future.

Correct! He hasn't got a clue and his style of football is utter shite and easy to work out always has been. **** Pearson off ASAP and let him go crawling back to hull to be barmby's assistant its about his level (assistant)

He is going to rebuild a squad of useless cvnts that will only know his style of football hence the reason when he left no other gaffer could change them and they had to rebuild again. I would rather have technically good players not playing well than utter shite players not playing well!

I see the 'Sven is god' brigade are still here to some degree. Pearson's not doing the job, it's easy to see, we can see it, and I'm pretty sure he knows it. Everyone bangs on about our midfield week in week out, who would you have replace them in our current squad? Because if you drop Wellens you put Abe in then you get on his back, no wait there's that other guy, the best midfielder in the world that Sven brought in on loan, you know the one that when he was on the pitch he did F all and sat on the bench for the majority of the time he was here under Sven. The transfer window has been open for just over 2 weeks, and we've seen a fair few deals try and be completed, so all this bollocks about why hasn't Pearson got anyone lined up? Or maybe just maybe, business is being dealt with behind closed doors, and we're in talks with clubs to sign players, and negotiating down the high prices that everyone will be trying to hold us to ransom to. A few weeks ago I remember watching the Blackburn game and thinking what a disgraceful set of supporters, fair play lads your on your way to matching them.

Ask yourself this question. If our owners have as much money and ambition as they like to tell us they have why are they arguing about £120K with Billy Sharps agent and why are there so many excuses being thrown at us.

I believe Pearson is an excellent manager so I'm not concerned. This season is a write-off which is why I'm looking further ahead. Time will tell who is right and feel free to remind me next season of this post.

I am interested though as to what your starting 11 would be. You're laying in to Pearson, for playing 1 up front so I'd like to know what team you'd play so that we can then expose the huge weaknesses in your team caused by a disjointed squad.

No time left in January to buy a new team, limp along till the end of the season, buy a new squad of mercenaries and journeymen, they will need until November to "gel" by the time we realise it's not working we'll be around to Jan 2013 transfer window.....all aboard the LCFC merry go round!!!

It takes time to learn things. People expect him to know the squad is crap as soon as he's arrived?! This is coming from the same people that were salivating over our squad when it was assembled in the summer!!

As for the 'i'll believe it when I see it' quote, what, do you think he's lying? Or not trying? I'm pissed off with the club at the moment but it's the 'fans' that are by far the most depressing part of this sad situation.

basically i've read pearsons article and came up with hes given up until he gets his own staff in. that with us still only 7pts to make up in 20 games to make the play offs . pearson has not came back the same person that left . he is part of the problem .

They were NP signings. What was the remit when he signed them? Get promoted from league one and stay up. They achieved both.

They were not signings to get us promoted. Sven was given that job and the money. He bought and loaned shit loads of players but never replaced what Pearson signed.

Pearson now has the remit of getting us promoted, he has so far had 14 days in a hard transfer window!!!

So stop playing them. Try plan B .... new players, fringe players, youth players, or come out and tell us what you think Nigel, rather than snipe at the fans for expecting something from their manager.

All we need is a new midfield to be honest, and maybe one forward or attacking midfieilder.

This is the core of any team really the midfield and contributes to the defensive work and attacking work and is the only reason teams are passing straight through us to setup plenty of chances and the reason we are lacking any real threat when in the final 3rd.

We need to replace Wellens, Gallagher and Dyer although I like Dyer and he did put in a good performance yesterday to be honest and took his goal well he is just to inconsistent right now. we need someone who can put a cross in the box that will make teams nervy and an attacking midfielder who can run wiith the ball, not afriad to shoot and who can look for those through balls for nuge and beckford to cling onto.

One more option is to buy Jelavic from Rangers him and Nuge/beckford would be a good partnership.. him and 3 midfield players we would start to turn this shit season around.

Before I make my point, just like to say Sven was not perfect, he built an 'unbalanced' squad and wouldn't admit it.

But since Nigel has come in we only seem to be going backwards. Our defence has got worse, compounded my losing Sol but Mills and Tunch made some woeful mistakes yesterday. The game completely passed our midfield by and why NP waited till the 73rd minute to make a change I have no idea.

Feel sorry for two players yesterday, Kasper and Nuge. Both did as much as they could but could never carry the other 9 players. FFS, in the 85th minute Nuge was tracking back in the right back position. If our striker is back defending when we're chasing a 2 - 1 lead then something has gone majorly wrong with organisation of the side.

Posted

People looked at Tunch with fond memories and rightly so. In League 1 he was awesome. When we were promoted he looked a bit shaky and every time I saw him on the football league show, he didnt exactly look convincing. Against Forest his first 10 minutes was ropey and the rest of the game he looked okay, but Forest are dogshit, possibly worse than us at the minute. Yesterday from what I saw he looked pretty vunerable again and not the man of steel I think we were all hoping for.

Unfortunately, as happened in Pearsons first spell, we perhaps need to take a step backwards to take a step forward. Even though many of the players are here from his first spell, their heads have obviously been turned by the owners money and operating under Sven and the attention that this has brought.

A handful of the players that are here are worth retaining but the rest need to be cast away. What's left of the window, if we can get 3 players in of the type that NP likes (not particularly talented but willing to work), and then look for the rest in the summer, next season could be worthwhile.

This year we should just forget about.

I feared as much, i was hoping we would have atleast a spine of a team he could work with but its really not looking like that at the moment. Its fair to say we have some good quality but we have alot of players who have done well elsewhere but arent really doing well here. I think the defence is good but concedes silly goals but i believe this can be worked on. The real problem lies in midfield where the spine is breaking down, looks like hes going to have to get in a few fresh faces and players who arent good enough despite their wage and their past will simply just have to be squad players.

I reckon now hes he will bring in 2 strikers with one being a target man and hopefully the other sharp, 2 wingers so that makes 3 with dyer (who some game proves he can perform well in a shit team), and atleast 1 centre mid as ours arent performing to how did they did in past seasons, Hopefully somewhere amongst the rabble he can get a midfield of four who will consitantly do a job not just sometimes when the game suits their style of hollywood balls which usually seems to be the better teams whilst teams like barnsley will get in our faces, do the basics right and turn defence into attack very quickly with purpose.

In my opinion there is only one way to go about this, and that's rebuild from the back.

We let in two weak goals yesterday, and it has been happening week after week.

I remember when Pearson came back thinking that if nothing else we will tighten up at the back under him but it just hasn't happened.

Until we fix the leak at the back the rest is pointless.

We need to start rebuilding for next season.

agree - the irony isn't lost that our clean sheets achieved under Sven have outnumbered those under Pearson.

We don't need a complete rebuild we just need 3 new midfielders or one and two wingers with Beckford and Nugent playing every game together!

Do agree with you there but yesterday we seen the effect two big men can do up front, the kind of threat barnsley had from hoofball was 10x our own, i think we need someone who can cause defenders more ariel threat aswell as the midfielders

Yes I said in the sharp thread even if we do get him we still struggle without a target man! Howard's not the answer to old.
