cc_star Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 He won't drop wellens. Seriously are these two actually bummers ? I'm having serious doubts. What? He's been dropped for couple of weeks Abe was poor last week at Forest & Wellens came on for him at half time & we were a million times better in 2nd half He deserved to be dropped & he probably deserved his start today Still, keep banging that drum Bore off if you're just going to effectively lie
Petchy Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Don't participate in a forum if you don't want to debate what went wrong in a shambolic performance. I'd love to not be moaning .... but I can find nothing to be positive about today's match, or for quite some time. This isn't a debate. This is a pure knee-jerk disabled fest.
hackneyfox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 We had a defence thtat, under Sven, kept a fair number of clean sheets. We now a manager, a former defender, and they now play like 'a bunch of individuals'. How does that happen?
MC Prussian Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Aaah... the joys of yet another re-build... Until Pearson is sacked and the story goes on and on and on and....
cc_star Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 It's the manager's job to make individuals play as a team .... and the whole of midfield is a shambles but 5/6ths of them were NP's signings!!!! The more I read people defending NP the more i get worried about about the future. Who coached those players for 18 of the last 20 months? NPs players??? Is that some kind of joke? Yes he signed them & they played bloody well for him, but 18 out of the past 20 months he's unfortunately had nothing to do with them, or didn't you hear that 2 inept managers have been in charge for the past 2 summers, their a shadow of their former selves The more I hear our 'fans' the more worried I am
5waller5 Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 This isn't a debate. This is a pure knee-jerk disabled fest. I'm normally a very positive fan that gets behind the manager and I'd normally agree that there's an over reaction to each and every loss...... BUT, I couldn't be less motivated at the moment ... I go to the ground expecting to watch drab, uninspiring hoofball, and each week i expect the team to be worse than the last .... and it's coming true every week. This isn't a knee-jerk .... it's reality. We are awful and NP hasn't got a clue what to do. He seems resigned to me that he can't do it and is just waiting for the sack.

You deserve a biscuit.
Happy Fox Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 How many more major rebuilds FFS NP just get : 2 wingers, playmaker, defensive midfielder and a mobile target man bobs your uncle we will be doing better as a team.
The People's Hero Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Nigel. Stop spending whitlow and lowe's transfer pot. willy puller.
5waller5 Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Nigel. Stop spending whitlow and lowe's transfer pot. willy puller. I wouldn't worry ... seems to be no prospect of us signing anyone!
Nickfosse Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 Today was yet another piss poor effort. I'm sure we all agree, but what worries me is the amount of fans who seem to suggest we need to get rid of Pearson. Doesn't our history (the relegation to 3rd div year) and football history teach us that rapid managerial turnover achieves nothing. Really hope the owners keep their nerve. Look at Derby, I don't rate Clough as a top manager but he has been given time even through poor times and they are getting results.

The least that anyone, on board the FNP busor not, expected was that he'd make a team of underformers and make them play for him. The team is getting worse, that isn't Sven's fault.

wurmer Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 He didn't say major rebuild - he said the squad wasnt as big as people think it is. Not the same thing.
5waller5 Posted 14 January 2012 Posted 14 January 2012 They weren't good enough in the first place, that is Sven's fault. They were two points off the play offs and 7th / 8th? when Sven was sacked ..... Whether you think they were / are good or not, Sven was better at motivating them and getting the best out of them NP ... otherwise he'd have improved them and got more. That means that Sven is a better motivator and tactician than NP.... and yet NP was bought in to get more out of the underperforming squad. Whichever way you look at it .... we are getting worse and NP is to blame, noone else.

You could say under Pearson we got in the play-offs with a much cheaper and less experienced team. Therefore he is a much better tactician and motivator. You are right though that we havent improved under NP which he has to take the blame for. But for all we know he's been reading them the riot act in hopes they'd get better and man up but instead they've all just chucked a strop and stopped trying. Gonna have to reserve judgement till after Jan 31st to see who he brings in. Thats if anyone wants to come to us

If he's read them the riot act and they have responded poorly then he read it wrong .... He's the manager. It's up to him to make the right motivational choices. I sit behind him and think he looks like a man out of his depth and who's own confidence has gone. He used to be active in the game ...pointing, shouting, directing and kicking every ball .... today he stood passively watching. How did he make one sub watching such a poor display????

Whilst I am trying to defend him. I agree his subs were very poor. Dunno why he kept Gallagher on for so long and why it took him so long to get Beckford on (even though he is poor when he does come on). Plus Abe should have started. I do think if he can get in a mobile target man and some midfielders he can turn it round. Just not sure anyone is gonna let there players go this Jan and if they do will they wanna come here.
breadandcheese Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 How many more major rebuilds FFS NP just get : 2 wingers, playmaker, defensive midfielder and a mobile target man bobs your uncle we will be doing better as a team. I'm probably missing the sarcasm and so apologise but, how is signing 4 players to slot into the first team not anything other than a major rebuild?
breadandcheese Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 I understand why everyone's frustrated after today's performance but it doesn't really excuse the level of idiocy. Pearson has inherited a disjointed squad put together by Sven. It was so disjointed that Sven didn't know who to play or in what formation, despite buying the players with a supposed plan. Pearson has to repair this damage and due to the limitations of the transfer window, has not been able to do anything as the window's been shut until now. Regardless, Pearson is getting stick for not having got any players in, with the excuse that the window's been open for 14 days. Interestingly, there's been very little movement in the 14 days the window's been open, so it seems that a lack of movement is a problem afflicting all clubs. We've made bids for players, we're not standing there idle or clueless. Basically, giving Pearson stick at this early stage when he's trying to clean up Sven's mess is ridiculous. He is the right man for the job and next season we will be a much stronger team challenging at the right end of the league.
ARM1968 Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 It's obvious how poorly we are playing, both as a team and as individuals. NP is NOT getting the best out of them and for whatever reason he looks like a man losing his own belief. There was little today to show any player in a good light, they were all shite!! But they aren't, in reality, all shite. Just not sure our captain can see the icebergs. It's going to take more than four players and I doubt we'll get two!!

I sit behind the dug ut and watch the managers closely. NP just wasn't involved today ... stood passively watching the game. He just didn't seem to have any idea what to do and was showing no passion or spirit. Very different from the NP of two months ago.

cc_star Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Fourth_Official Fourth Official Leicester looking at players, personal terms with Sharp are on going, some players need to leave however before many other signings #Lcfc Some fools in this thread think we should have signed 10 players already, forgetting there is a lot that needs to go 1st, we don't want them causing a stink in the background for when people do come in they need to lift spirits & not be dragged down by the dross that's being paid a wage currently. If we're to sign players then clubs will need to replace them before we can which is tough in Jan T-i-m-e

The more I read people defending NP the more i get worried about about the future. They were NP signings. What was the remit when he signed them? Get promoted from league one and stay up. They achieved both. They were not signings to get us promoted. Sven was given that job and the money. He bought and loaned shit loads of players but never replaced what Pearson signed. Pearson now has the remit of getting us promoted, he has so far had 14 days in a hard transfer window!!!
