One of my favourite live bands from this era. I modeled my dancing style on the vocalist. Fortunately, I don't seem to have been at this gig or things could have got embarrassing....

Not in any way, Ronnie. I loved the Shrubs as a live band and did dance like Nick Hobbs - about 7 pints of strong ale used to help, of course.

It's called moving on the off beat, free jazz style. The pints just add fluidity.

Was this after he died ?   (As in the interview not the assault !!) ...  which was only a couple of months ago ...   if so, somehow doesn’t sit well.

Sounds like a good turnout at the Dublin gig to celebrate Shane MacGowan's 60th birthday: Nick Cave, Bobby Gillespie, Sinead O'Connor, Carl Barât, Glen Matlock, Cerys Matthews, Christy Moore, John Sheahan (Dubliners), the ubiquitous Bono, Johnny Depp, and the President of Ireland (giving him a lifetime achievement award) etc. All doubtless surprised that Shane has made it to 60.
