davieG Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Does this say anything about us as a Nation? A cultural wasteland or just good simple entertainment. 1. Ryanside Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 I'm sure I'm not alone, but I didn't watch a single one of those!
Corky Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 I watched a bit of the Royal Wedding, the rest I had no interest in whatsoever.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 I'm sure I'm not alone, but I didn't watch a single one of those! Saw a bit ofthe royal wedding but that was it - none of the rest of the stuff -- could be worse though, it could have had Jeremy Kyle, Trisha and Judge Judy up there!
Rincewind Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 I'm guilty of only watching Eastenders on the list. Main reason I have watched it from the beginning. I put it on if there is a programme after I want to see. If I missed a few episodes yhough it would not bother me . The storyline is easy to follow.
Corky Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Jeremy Kyle You can't enough of DNA Tests and Lie Detectors.
Rocket-Ron Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 I've feel asleep to evey episode of Downton Abbey
StanSP Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Don't understand how a royal wedding can be classed as a 'programme'. Downton Abbey was very good and deserves higher than 9th, in my opinion. No Top Gear ?
Saxondale Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Amuses me that the X-Factor final got more or less the same viewing figures as the Royal Wedding - bearing in mind there was nothing else on that day with all the channels covering it!
I am Rod Hull Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Number 1 is the most embarrassing. Watching history being made, an event that happens around 3 times a century is embarrassing?
leicesterisme Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Is it bad that I've watched all of them apart from the Royal Wedding, Downton Abbey and Strictly Come Dancing?!
Corky Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Number 1 is the most embarrassing. Better than some of the number 2's that appear on the list.
Happy Fox Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 What a farce is this what people watch, recently I have been watching Sherlock Holmes BBC adaptation that is pretty good, and this US drama called Suits
Samilktray Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 Dont know how it effects anyone really, just watch what you enjoy, and avoid what you dont enjoy.
Fox92 Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 I had no interest in the Royal Wedding at all, but Kate Middleton is well fit

I know it doesn't say British, but given all top 10 are British, I'd presume it was Top 10 British Programmes of 2011...
Corky Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 I had no interest in the Royal Wedding at all, but Kate Middleton is well fit We agree on something

I know it doesn't say British, but given all top 10 are British, I'd presume it was Top 10 British Programmes of 2011... Sherlock Holmes is British, quite surprised it hasn't made it, the Suits isn't but I recommend peeps to watch it really is good.
StanSP Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 I know SH is British, just it wasn't first aired in 2011 was it? Thought it started this year?
davieG Posted 23 January 2012 Author Posted 23 January 2012 Did you totally miss the title of the thread ? I know it doesn't say British, but given all top 10 are British, I'd presume it was Top 10 British Programmes of 2011... It's based on viewing figures so the country of origin is irrelevant. Sorry i usually put a link in to the source - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-16671101 BBC Report -

The Royal Wedding figures are just the BBC ones if you add in all the other channels it comes to 26mill http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-16671101
Rincewind Posted 23 January 2012 Posted 23 January 2012 All those programmes are regular on a lot apart from the Wedding People are just 'drawn' into them. Even with all the digital channels people still stick to BBC and ITV. I think its the effort to pick up the remote control that stops views from looking for better things on.
