Twitters Transfer Rumours

Cisse is their new 9m man, Ba's Senegal partner.

Sammy Ameobi is more of a winger in my eyes tbh.

Suppose he is really. They have him listed as a striker on the website, so is Lovenkrands.

I'm sure we were linked with him earlier in the season and both him and Leon Best are set to leave today.

Sven was Manager when we were linked with him earlier in the season ! I'm not sure if NP has had / will have any interest.

Lovenkrands can play either left wing (another possible Dyer replacement ?!) or as a central striker. Pardew has used him in both roles, but under Hughton (and at Rangers) he mainly played on the left - and he plays left midfield for Denmark.

Just want to pick up on a point there:

There seems to be an assumption on this forum that we'd automatically still be interested in the transfer targets from the Sven regime - Maynard, Jelavic et al. There's no logical reason why this should be the case.

Leon Best? Nile Ranger?

Don't want Lovenkrands just don't see what he would add to the squad

I don't rate Leon Best (did you see all the misses he had against Brighton in the Cup at the weekend !?) - he'd be no better than the likes of Waghorn or Delfouneso (and would cost a fair bit of money). I think Lovenkrands would be worth a shout though - he can play in a couple of roles (as I say above) and would give us some 'presence' / skill on the left side and up front (not wishing to demean Lloyd of course !).

This is the way to think

Getting players that are better than those here, in Jan when their own clubs will struggle to replace them is challenging.

I think we'll add to Drinkwater, Morgan & Marshall but I'm not sure where

They'd have 4. Papis Cisse, Sammy Ameobi, Shola Ameobi and Demba Ba. Although I don't know who Cisse is. Just saw him listed on their website.

They often stick Ben Arfa upfront too, and Papis cost them a small fortune (in Mike Ashley spending terms at least).

thats a crazy price! i guess he is potentially worth promotion for them though

always rated lovenkrands when ive seen him, well atleast i think i have!

Makes you wonder what Huddersfield would accept for him.

BBC are reporting that 4 clubs are after Keith Andrews. My Ipswich-supporting mate has just e-mailed me to say that we're one of 'em and (not surprisingly) Ipswich is another ! He hasn't heard who the other two are.

Don't know much about him if I'm being honest.

Is a playmaker was on loan at Ipswich this season and scored 9 goals in 20app.

Personally, I wouldn't really describe him as a playmaker, more of a box to box midfielder. Not massively exciting but is a very good player at this level

Isn't Danny Drinkwater also a box to box midfielder?, this would probably allow Andrews to be utilized as a playmaker, where he could continue his goal-scoring and provide assists.

Ha, I was going to go the other way and describe Drinkwater as more of the playmaker :P. I think its fair to say that they both have similar qualities but are well rounded enough to be able to play together. Imagine Drinkwater will be asked to play a littler higher up the pitch or on the right wing but could change if Andrews comes.

If Ipswich have a bid accepted for Andrews, I expect him to go there. He has already expressed desire to return there. He was even captain when on loan there not too long ago.
