whitlock Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 I dont see a thread being made every week about Matt Mills' tendancy to hoof ball to nobody and start hoping for him to be sold. Atleast he doesnt shy from a challange or a header.
Libertine Dream Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 Or the fact he shy's out of every challange? Has absolutely no pace? Never tracks back? List is endless. Decent technique yes, but when do we ever score from his corners? Never. His delivery is woeful and he does shy out of challenges, an infuriating player to watch but last season he was far better than he has been this year for whatever reason. I remember watching some games last year when he was substituted or not playing and I noticed we looked weaker defensively when he didn't play and the left side, where he played at the time was vulnerable, I think its a myth that he doesn't track back. As for his lack of pace, Marshall lacks pace so maybe we should sell him now? I like how this discussion was started by somebody who is clueless on Twitter and now thinks cash-strapped Brum could buy Snodgrass for 4+mil.
Sods Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 On form the lad is a class act, he is carrying an injury at the moment which isn't helping him. He wouldn't of played Saturday if we had another midfielder about. I just think our fans are deluded most of the time, the whole saga with Morgan, people dont want him as they bum bamba and st ledger. And now we have to slag someone off that plays for Leicester city, the guy loves it here and does give 100 percent. It's obvious, he can change a game which not many of our players can do, only player that can regularly score out the box. His corners have been poor but with more work we can all see he has a decent delivery.
yorkie1999 Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 The rumours about Gallagher are completely untrue and unfounded. I personally saw him head the ball twice against swindon

Kitchandro Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 If Gally didn't score the occassional worldie goal, which he has done, then what does he offer to the team? People are going to say his set pieces and delivery? We rarely rarely score from set peices and his delivery is often very poor. TBH Danns has a better delivery from a corner. Maybe we don't score from set-pieces because we don't attack the ball in the box. There have been quite a few games this season where his, And Dyer's balls into the box have been great but we still can't win a header in the opposition box. People have used King and Yakubu's goalscoring as reasons enough to be in the team despite offering little else, why not Gallagher? Personally I think he offers more on the whole than Yakubu ever did, and doesn't disappear nearly as often as King.

Leicester_Loyal Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 No way in hell does Gally offer more than Yakubu did. Not a chance.
Nickfosse Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 I dont see a thread being made every week about Matt Mills' tendancy to hoof ball to nobody and start hoping for him to be sold. That's strange, virtually every day I read someone questioning Mills' distribution

We don't attack corners because his delivery at the moment is awful, the balls are not great for attacking, floated slowly and too flat, his swinging free kicks are attackable hence why Nuge scored from one v Pompey
Houdini Logic Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 I have always been a fan of his but I have to say that this season, and the tipping point being against Swindon, it was probably the final time I'll put my neck on the line and stick up for him. I think the most constructive thing I can say is that it's time for him to move on.
Adster Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 StringerSport Ian Stringer Sky Sports report West Ham United are 'keen' on Jermaine Beckford and have enquired as to his availability #whufc - thoughts? Seriously?
L4EV Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 If Bolton are after Gallagher they must be preparing for Championship mediocrity
Kitchandro Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 No way in hell does Gally offer more than Yakubu did. Not a chance. Go on then, other than his goals what did Yakubu offer the team?

HEGGSY Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 Go on then, other than his goals what did Yakubu offer the team? Oh god, the old "he only scores goals" arguments. Unless you were being sarcastic.
whitlock Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 From your sig your a Gally fan... this is a non starter, you will back him what ever is said.
Babylon Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 For goodness sake, one chump on twitter posts something.
Kitchandro Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 Oh god, the old "he only scores goals" arguments. Unless you were being sarcastic. Isn't that the same argument levelled against Gallagher? Because his goals and assists stats are good for a midfielder. From your sig your a Gally fan... this is a non starter, you will back him what ever is said. From your sig your a Torres fan, you will back him what ever is said. BTW Torres has been shit for 2 years.
whitlock Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 Torres was decent for the pool hence why he's still in a red shirt on my sig Gally doesnt have winger attributes nor does he have a strikers instinct. Thinks he's Ronaldo, scores occassional 35 yarders, rare free kicks, but he always offers, poor floating corners, lack of committment in a challange and the ability to not win a header. Hoping Ben Marshall here to take over Gallys position.

Hoping Ben Marshall here to take over Gallys position. Well he can cross a ball (he's better from open play than set-pieces). His lack of pace is a hinderance, then again he's never been suited to being an out and out winger, most would agree, neither is he a striker. He's best when cutting inside from the left or playing off the strikers IMO. If Pearson had the intention of getting 2 wingers and sticking with a 4-4-2 then Gallagher may well have been replaced, and had these wingers been better fair enough. As it's happened he's been typically obsessed with solid and less exciting players. So with the situation as it is I'd rather Dyer replaced first, there's only so many times I can watch a player run really fast and then scuff it. Like I said I think the frequency of Gallagher's bad games are exaggerated, whilst he deserves criticism for performances like the other day and against Barnsley, people very quickly forget the other 2 recent displays, as they do those against Portsmouth and Ipswich where he was the only one offering a threat with his crossing.
MboroFox Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 Just read on twitter that WBA are after pelts. Really hope this is not true
