I was sat in the Kop for the Boro where it was really quiet to be honest but I may have to defect to L1 from now on!

Well done to all who got it going and I REALLY hope we can get the whole of the KP to join in.

Just like the old days it was- brought a tear to me eye. lol.

Chill out, one swallow and all that, it was one game.

Don't agree with copying others songs at all. We have our own and should sing them loudly! All the other clubs are laughing at us, cos we're thick cvnts who can't make their own.

Embarrassing.

Not as embarrassing as you. Anyone who writes cos instead of because is also a thick cvunt.

PS. What's happened to the ring of fire?! Barely hear it anymore.

Usually one section of the fans wants it to go at a million miles an hour and the other doesn't and it just seems to fall flat on its face whenever it does start up

I understand some other clubs fans "boo" their team.... we must stop doing that...its just cringeworthy :)

I swear you always come on these boards complaining about how the atmosphere isn't very good at the KP, but as soon as we manage to make any atmosphere you shoot it down instantly due to the fact that it isn't "original". Maybe you should take your head out of the clouds and realise that although we didn't invent the chant ourselves (neither did Palace but that's a story for another day) the fact that singing it actually got a bit of atmosphere back into the stadium is a good thing.

It really irks me when people get the hump because we sing something that another club also sings. Who cares? As long as it's supporting the team and making some noise I'm all for it.

We didn't need any sky sports generated chants at filbert street did we? its the nature of the fans of today to want to chant something that every other club does too. Had no other club started this about 18months ago and I came on here suggesting this 'chant' would it have got an airing? No. We do it because 23 other teams in our league do it. It would've been far less embarassing had we have picked up on the chant immediately after it 'came out' I don't want an Italian Ultra look to our support.

Mind you, it won't look out of place today as it is very gay.

For the record I actually thought the atmosphere was dreadful on Wednesday, until this chant started. Everyone's harping on about this chant which is in fact papering over the cracks on what for 70mins was a very quiet night.

I always thought the whole point of chants was to relay messages from the crowd to the players, or to give the team in general direct support. Eg. When we were shite on Wednesday (before Drinkwater and Delfonso came on) what we really needed was the sky sport chanters to get 'come on leicester' going as loud as possible to gee em up. Not swinging scarves around your heads as if we were 6-0 up in the Champions League Final.

This. Spot on. Obviously half the people in L1 were too young to remember Filbert St. Shame.

I've heard this chant at lot recently anyway on televised games, and for gods sake i heard it on the bbc tv goal flash report today for the norwich first goal! Bloody 'ell, if its eventually reached n'wich it's out of date anyway - it sounded good on the live stream on wednesday but lets not get carried away that we're being original in England; keep singing by all means but don't be surprised if you hear all opponents fans doing it (winning or not)

Yeah, but it's not filbo is it?

Posted

no, it never will be, doesn't mean we can't make it great at KP as well

I know but singing other teams songs doesn't give the same pride as our own. tis all.

Club shouldn't of moved because we don't get many over 22000 anyway. Rather we had a full house and spent all them millions on players, we'd be in a much better position I reckon.

fair point- been said loads of times but shame we haven't got our own - hope we can make the kp better - still needs some consistency from the team to lift the fans

no-one could of predicted the destruction sparked by Peter Taylor, the move was nessacery and we average more then Filbo held.

as for songs, I've personally been at games, including away games and tried to get "our" songs started and people don't want to know anymore

Same here, everyone seems to be shunning our traditions rather than embracing it. It's a real shame.goes hand in hand with the foreign ownership etc. bring back my football club! The one I fell in love with!!

Sounded decent from our end today - speaking to fans post match in the West stand they were raving about how vocal you guys were (it's safe to say I think people in HOVE heard your booing of Mattock)

Most of them are kids. Thats not their fault I know. What is their fault is that they can't be arsed to learn the words to WYS (as an example), and carry on the traditional songs of ours. Instead, they just go 'd d d d d d derrrr lcfc' which lets face it, is wank. Or in this case, they just copy something which has been done many a time by other clubs. Or, in other cases, they sing songs way too fast and end up ruining them- The Beckford one for instance. Though I don't like the song itself as again, its pretty popular with other clubs, its a song needed to be sung to encourage Beckford, but it just gets ruined. I'm generalising when I say they're all kids who cant be arsed to learn the traditional songs. I know there are some lads that do.

Wow, how embarrassing, opponents fans coming on saying how vocal we are. We better stop this now.
