Most of them are kids. Thats not their fault I know. What is their fault is that they can't be arsed to learn the words to WYS (as an example), and carry on the traditional songs of ours. Instead, they just go 'd d d d d d derrrr lcfc' which lets face it, is wank. Or in this case, they just copy something which has been done many a time by other clubs. Or, in other cases, they sing songs way too fast and end up ruining them- The Beckford one for instance. Though I don't like the song itself as again, its pretty popular with other clubs, its a song needed to be sung to encourage Beckford, but it just gets ruined. I'm generalising when I say they're all kids who cant be arsed to learn the traditional songs. I know there are some lads that do.

What's wrong with that? Are you expecting a ballad or something?

Those are clearly Young Boys' fans :P

I haven't watched it for ages :P Was gonna edit but I couldn't be arsed. It says something about Basel on it somewhere. Bah.

I highly suspect only a witty little verse written in iambic pentameter would please some folk on here

Don't agree with copying others songs at all. We have our own and should sing them loudly! All the other clubs are laughing at us, cos we're thick cvnts who can't make their own.

PS. What's happened to the ring of fire?! Barely hear it anymore.

lol

Sounded decent from our end today - speaking to fans post match in the West stand they were raving about how vocal you guys were (it's safe to say I think people in HOVE heard your booing of Mattock)

That was a good boo :D

That the one you mean? By Basel fans. Haven't read through the thread so someones probably posted it already.

Nobody else think it's a little disturbing that a bunch of men are singing "we love you, where you go we'll follow, because we support young boys"

A lot of people joined in, which was encouraging.

And the booing of Mattock, which drowned out their cheers for him.

Same here, everyone seems to be shunning our traditions rather than embracing it. It's a real shame.goes hand in hand with the foreign ownership etc. bring back my football club! The one I fell in love with!!

How can young fans who never experienced Filbert Street embrace the old songs when they aren't sung anymore.

I personally think that YOU older fans have done a bad job of passing the buck. As the soul of FS, you failed to transfer that to Filbert Way.

Now that L/K is made up mostly of youths who have only ever known the Walkers Stadium, we now have a mix of both the dull and the generic songs these days.

Did we have decent numbers standing?

From the front to back where I was stood to the left of the goal.

Looked like a few sitting in the middle though?

Why did these fans gather in a shopping mall before breaking into song? Had they all been dragged into Christmas shopping by their better halves, and were staging their own protest whilst watching the scores outside a Swiss equivalent of Curry's which happended to be showing Der Finalische Scorum?

Thanks a lot. So were we the loudest side to visit the AMEX? And good luck with the rest of your season!

Excuse the jumpy footage from my camera phone but it started off by following a small football being thrown around the concourse, the singing gets going at about 1min 35. This was all pre match of course.

Well said.

There always seems to be a lot of complaining from the older fans but then they always give it the 'I'm too old for that now' or 'I can't be bothered in that soulless bowl so I sit in the West Stand and judge'.

Are you taking the piss? Do people really sing that because they think its good? Half the muppets who do it can't even do it at the right speed

No, are you? What would you prefer people to sing? Incase you haven't noticed, you can't just have an album of long songs to pick from with everybody knowing the words. I've not heard anyone sing the LCFC song (or a variation) apart from us, it's one of the most popular and loudest because of it's simplicity and all you do is moan about it. Something isn't right.

Honestly I don't think ring of fire is much good. It doesn't get the crowd going at all, people get bored of it quickly and just stop. And it's one of those chants that only starts up when the game is extremely boring.

at the end of the day, its an extremely catchy song which encourage alot of people to sing it. Putting a voice behind the team (12th man) will help the lads put in the performances that we all know they are capable off.

I will 100% be singing this song . For those who don't want to support the lads then give your season ticket to someone who will

Not a popular opinion but I thought Leeds sounded class (prepares to be stoned to death) , but you were up there close second , considering we've had Liverpool and Newcastle who didn't create as much of a racket as you did with the two pieces mentioned ( I'm a North stand STH so West standers may see/hear it differently)

and thanks very much , like I say I have a few mates who support the Foxes so after checking the scum from Selhurst have lost you guys are the next result I look out for!

Thanks for that. You were pretty good at the KP in September.

Why? Cos you can't be arsed to learn them?

There may be a reason you don't hear the 'LCFC song' (aka The Ring of Fire) in that the chant is brainless, moronic and boring in itself, and as Kitchandro rightly said its used when the games as boring as hell.

Its one of the most popular and loudest due to the simplicity of the fans singing it, not the simplicity of the song

Because they don't catch on. What are you doing to do, put a sheet with the lyrics on under each seat and expect people to memorise them?

So what's your problem with it? People sing it because it's simple, therefore it's one of the loudest and most popular. Not rocket science.
