Aylestone Fox Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Creating the atmosphere at home cant be a negative thing surely, did anyone see Kaspar respond when its was being sung against Boro,.he was clapping his hands and prompting the crowd to keep it going, as it clearly had an effect. What song is sung to cause this positive response surely doesnt matter as long as it has a positive side to it,..I for one will be joining in this afternoon as its loads better than just sitting there listening to the moaners,... We wouldnt be the only club to copy something from somewhere else, every set of fans around the world have done it,.... moan moan fecking moan,...some people.
broughtonblue Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 This sing is not copied, we sing Leicester instead of palace! Therefore it is enhanced!

the_foxes_till_i_die Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 just heard the boys singing it on SkySports news in the background well done
AmyLGK Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Its constant in the background on radio leicester - sounds brilliant! I'm so proud!
Voll Blau Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 I'd be proud if we could sing When You're Smiling or Bring on the Sunderland and Arsenal like that...
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 I don't care if we robbed it, mugged it off someone, borrowed it, bought it or took a mortgage out on it but this chant has finally got some life into the stadium, and let's be real; not before time. It was brilliant to see three and a half stands waving scarves. Let's be honest, the season is all but over, but why can't we enjoy what's left???

I'm making the long trek to the KP for the Cov match and am looking forward to seeing a difference in the atmosphere.
Leicfox Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Sounded really good via stream. Well done to everyone singing. It's about time we had some noise at our home games.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 haha what a ludite.... didn't know what you meant so I looked it up and came up with this 'It is believed that Ned Ludd came from the village of Anstey, just outside Leicester in England. The incident that inspired his transformation from an 18th-century common man to a 19th-century hero of the proletariat occurred when he broke two stocking frames in a fit of rage.' what do the working class have against sewing machines?!
Poakey Posted 11 February 2012 Author Posted 11 February 2012 The players aren't leicester fans. They dont care what noise is coming out from the stand. Whether its WYS or the latest generic chant. It's the fans that should care about the traditions. If this song carries on, there will be one positive to come from it. I'll have an easy decision on whether to renew next season or not! Id like to think in a few years time you'll look back on this song and cringe. A bit like when you remembered what your done pissed up the night before. But you won't, cos you know no better. Would have loved to have seen your face on 70 mins after the freekick, would have been a picture!
davieG Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Don't know the history of this song but many in the past were borrowed I didn't notice anyone complaining but then we didn't have forums like this so who knows. But that's the first time in many a year that I've heard or seen fans from all four stands joining in both vocally and physically. What you have to hope is that it becomes natural for this unified singing to occur and maybe another song, hopefully original for some folks on here will take off and be picked up by those joining in with this.

jonthefox Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Sounded awesome today. I see the kop is still a little stand offish with it though.
davieG Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Just to add it was a rarity to see all four stands at Filbert St joining in with an actually song. I also noticed that quite few of those joining in look pre-teen or early teen and presumably felt comfortable joining in with this song unlike many others that get chanted. And finally I think a thanks should go to the club because I reckon their distribution of scarves has probably helped this take off because without the scarves I'd bet there wouldn't be so many joining in. To sum up it seems like a pretty inclusive song borrowed or not.

Spot on the free scarves at Southampton meant every one had one and naturally waved them at the appropriate point in the chant, it was loud and looked good for the amount of fans there and there was a proper away day buzz. This seems to ave continued since then. I expect it will o down well at Watford.

SaltyDog Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 I didn't hear/see the 'Kop' getting involved with this today from K1, but ure saw the Family Stand waving them scalves... man my vioce is 'shot' after today!!!! Tried my best to make the word clear to everyone around me that was unsure of how it goes Great game, good atmosphere, Fantasic 3 points fully deserved!!!!
jonlcfc1990 Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 family stand are the new Kop the majority of them joined in with the poznan and they've all got scarves and the enthusiasm is great the kop needs to get a grip it's on it's last legs as it is if they don't get behind support more i don't think it will ever get back to how it was
