Voll Blau Posted 9 February 2012 Posted 9 February 2012 You tried to get it going and people turned their back on it. People got it going and now you're turning your back on it. Probably all I have to say on the matter... I 100% realise it's cutting your nose off to spite your face and if that's how my post looks - so be it, but I just think it's daft how something can be so scorned when it's original yet people think it's great when they've seen 50 other sets of fans do it (mostly badly and rushing at 200 mph to get to the "Ohwoahwoahwoah!!!")
Dan Posted 9 February 2012 Posted 9 February 2012 Peoples opinions change. It's not their opinion that's changed, it's their attitude that has stayed the same. It sums up British mentality completely and it's pretty similar really to the whole "moan but do nothing about it", a lot of our fans won't try anything new, yet as soon as someone else sings it, "oh, we can get away with singing that one too". Even Everybody Danns Now was a Palace song.
Dan Posted 9 February 2012 Posted 9 February 2012 was in L1 from the start and a few old boys did go in there and sing some of the old songs. Remember a great game against Man u where the leicester fans tried to pull up the shutters in the concourse at half time to get at the cockney man u scum. Moved out when the drum came in. I know some of you luv it, but there is a sizeable amount who hate it and think that it makes us sound predictable with basic chants and few original songs. A few young lads hero worship him and so I suppose he is here to stay, but PUT HIM IN THE KOP. Now in the family end with my kids at the back near the away fans. We try our bit, works on some games if tyhere is a sizeable away support. Just an opinion Were you not the one doing a thread partially complaining at people moving to L1 from the Kop, and now you're saying one of our things which you strongly dislike should be moved from L1 to there? The drum's a 50/50 for me. I personally think they're good if the drummer's got a decent rhythm and it's not constantly going on, and it's used to compliment songs rather than start them.
LCFC BEAST Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Remember your scarves tomorrow boys and girls
The Year Of The Fox Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Remember your scarves tomorrow boys and girls I'll use mine to hang myself
Babylon Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 This whole age thing is Ridiculous my mum is 50 and my dad is 67 they both Poznan shout abuse at away fans wave their scarves and go mental when we score. Your as old as you feel and support never gets old It's not ridiculous, people change with age. Just because your Dad has decided he wants to be doing the Poznan at 67 doesn't mean other people do. Does your dad still watch childrens tv, play football on the park until it's dark, spend his pocket money on sweets. Or has he decided he would rather not.
Narborough_fox Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 I'll use mine to hang myself (I'm joking I'd never, ever wish death on anyone no matter how much I hated them)
jonlcfc1990 Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 Finally looking forward to a home games atmosphere
LCFC FOX Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 if its like the last game it will be good hope we can keep going. Nice to see the family stand get involved but lets face it they are better than the boring KOP! pull you finger out guys

LCFC BEAST Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 I'm actually looking forward to the game just for the atmosphere! Hopefully it's worth it
The Year Of The Fox Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 You lot should all be in bed then even though its not a school night
Maybes Posted 10 February 2012 Posted 10 February 2012 People moan when the atmosphere is shit. People moan when we copy chants. People moan/stare at people like they're are sub-human when new chants are sung. Complete no win situation.

Couldn't put it better.Even the manager and players responded and commented on the fans after the game(middlesbro), surly it's a good thing? Ok then, maybe not.

Ok then, maybe not. The players aren't leicester fans. They dont care what noise is coming out from the stand. Whether its WYS or the latest generic chant. It's the fans that should care about the traditions. If this song carries on, there will be one positive to come from it. I'll have an easy decision on whether to renew next season or not! Id like to think in a few years time you'll look back on this song and cringe. A bit like when you remembered what your done pissed up the night before. But you won't, cos you know no better.

You are probably right, the players probably dont care what particular songs are sung in the stands. I would imagine though, that a good few hundred fans making a lot of noise singing this song rallies them up alot more than seven or eight people droning out when your smiling.
flowwolf Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Sorry to burst anyone's self important bubble but the fans at the K. P stadium really do not give a flying fvck what anyone on here thinks either way. End of.
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 I still spend my money on sweets so I have something to eat when I watch my Mary , Mungo and Midge DVD I favour 'pipkins' myself, with Hartley Hare and 'Topov'...
Jimbo Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 This is my first home game this calender year, due to the missus popping out a sprog, and I'm looking forward to seeing what this chant is all about. It's being made out that the whole stadium will be bouncing, but I think I'm expecting to much

Don't you feel embarassed being surrounded by fans who do this chant because they think its cool (when really we've missed that boat by 18months) yet can't learn the words to WYS? Imagine how the Liverpool kop fans would react if a bunch of teenagers came and started singing this instead of YNWA. Believe me, I'm not trying to knock the fans or take the piss out of the song. There's more to it than that. These generic chants slowly erode any tradition that clubs have left nowadays

There's more to it than that. These generic chants slowly erode any tradition that clubs have left nowadays While I agree with you on the tradition part of your post, I think the point is that the players don't listen to the words of the chant, they respond to the noise being created and the positive atmosphere. It doesn't matter what we chant as long as we do. The actual chant is more for the fans than it is the players. Anyone who sings any football chant thinking they look cool is sadly mistaken! But thats what is wrong with our atmosphere, we have those thinking they look cool and we have those who think it's all cringeworthy. There a few too little of those like myself (yes I am bigging myself up ) who actually don't care. I don't sing or jump around thinking I'm looking good and I don't care if other people think I'm being a prat. I go to enjoy myself and have a laugh. As I've said in an earlier post, there a far too many people who are quick to criticise others whether it for singing or vice versa. Why can't we just join in and find a common ground.
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 I love this 'tune'... It sounds great and can be sung constantly ( ie it don't end)... Keep at it boys Sounds great IMO.
