Collymore Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 I see Ghana have progress in TACON after beating Tunisia. Anyone been following Paintsil in this? That new BBC site is terrible to find team line ups for the comp. I wonder if he'll have a chance when he returns under Pearson... I think Pelts could do with some decent competition.
80footgiraffe Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 I'd love him to play more for city, think its well known im a fan. Pelts is weak is certain areas, can get run around quite easily but he's staying at least until the end of the season now so hopefully we can use him
davieG Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 He signed a 3 year contract http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2405433,00.html?
accessory Posted 5 February 2012 Posted 5 February 2012 Peltier has occasionally looked off the pace in recent games (including yesterday). Wouldn't do him any harm to be rotated with Pantsil after the African Cup of Nations, especially with the busy schedule of games coming up.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 I reckon when Pantsil returns Peltier will have some competition! He has looked edgy in the past couple of games defensively was he at fault for there goal saturday? Everytime they crossed it in far post he never marked the player and Kasper pointed that out but it happened most of the game still. I like Pantsil and would love to see him get in the team, St. Ledger can play RB aswell can't he? Maybe he might go on the right and that was the reason Morgan is here
Dan Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Can see Pearson favouring Moore over Pantsil personally.
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 I think I read on Twitter that Pantsil was dropped for Ghana's Quarter-Final win. Bamba's been an ever-present from what I've seen.
FuriousFox46 Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Pantsil is a 74 on Fifa. Peltier is a 68. /thread

Fox92 Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 I'd rather us get a brand new right back, or at least give Moore another chance before Paintsil plays. I agree a lot of goals come down Peltier's side, but I don't rate Paintsil, and never have. I have seen him a couple of times for Leicester, and he hasn't impressed me too much.
Simmo86 Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Wasn't Peltiers fault for the goal Saturday he had to cover in the middle, no midfielders bothered to track Buckleys run into the box!
Steve Agnew Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Lets get Pantsil back in the team. I remember watching an interview when he first arrived, stating he was a team player and would play in whatever way the team needed him to. He seemed like a happy chap, and maybe his experience, pace and energy is what we need to deal with Readings wingers today. And we need to see more of those victory laps around the pitch when we win!

ACF Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 He had his chance and wasn't very good. Neither was Wellens, and he's playing well now. John hasn't played under Pearson, so hasn't been given a chance.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 I'd put him back in. Peltier has been solid, but I think fullbacks (apart from Konch) are areas we need to strengthen
gazfox9 Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 I'd be more than happy to see him given another go, NP doesn't seem to rate him tho. Hasn't even made the bench yet has he for NP?
Drift Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Was looking forward to seeing one of his laps of honour.
Mack Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Neither was Wellens, and he's playing well now. John hasn't played under Pearson, so hasn't been given a chance. But Pearson sees him in training everyday, so I think we can safely say he hasn't done anything to depose Peltier. Wellens might have had some average games by his own standards at the start of this season, but I think his many high class performances both before and after that prove he is a man worth sticking with.
Jay Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Has he actually turned up back at the club yet? Sure I heard that at the time Pearson took over he hadn't been seen for a while, back home with Malaria or something then 6-7 weeks away for cup of nations, then didn't return due to family issues etc. seems a bit of an odd one really bound to be on a big wedge of cash no talk of loans etc and never gets mentioned
Guesty Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 He looked awful when he got his chance earlier in the season but now we're out of the play-off race I wouldn't mind seeing him get another go. We have nothing to lose. If only to put him in the shop window. If he has been away for ages and isn't coming back I can't understand why we are still paying his wages.

He has been a good player throughout his career, you dont just lose that
Guesty Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 I wouldnt have said awful. He has been a good player throughout his career, you dont just lose that I see what you're saying. I was excited when we signed him. But he looked so poor in the games I saw. There was 1 game where everytime a winger went near him he slipped over and the winger just went round him or put in a cross unopposed. He seemed to be out of position a lot. I couldn't understand why he looked so bad. You're mostly right tho, you don't become a bad player over night which is why I'd like to see him given a couple of games now. But then of course there are exceptions like Shevchenco and Torres. Who seem to just lose what they once had. (of course Torres could very well come good again but Shevchenko never really did.)

We have to remember that this was under Sven's style of play. I wonder how he'd cope under Pearson's.
