Mack Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 I would wager the linesman and ref have conjured something up between them that will satisfy the FA their decision can stand. Cover your backs and all that.
Yojoe36 Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpS_7nO76A4&feature=youtu.be Shit quality I know. But you can get the idea. Notice how the Brighton player doesnt even react to getting tapped. He just stands up and walks off... WOW!! ACTUALLY WOW AHAHAHAHAHA lol
Corky Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 ****ing hell, it should be overturned every day of the week with a covering apology note for the incompetency of the officials.

Maybes Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Seeing it live I was absolute bemused. Seeing it for a second time on video and I'm still none the clearer. Farce.
Craig Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Just showed an ex-referee that works at our place that. He says it looks like a foul originally, but he can't believe that he's sent him off for the tap. Laughable.
Bluefoxtim Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 On 9 seconds, Beckford's leg has a slightly odd movement. Clutching at straws though.
Babylon Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Go on, I dare someone to try and defend that decision... The give away is the complete lack of any reaction from thier player. Beckfords leg definitely does a flick, but he could be just walking over the guys outstretched arm. Difficult to tell from that one angle.
Maybes Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 On 9 seconds, Beckford's leg has a slightly odd movement. Clutching at straws though. True. However from being at the game, there was no reaction from the crowd or even the player. Bizarre. Added together with the fact it took the linesman 2-3 seconds to wave his flag.

Need to see it from the opposite angle, it is on the Brighton website I believe, I'm going to take another look.......
Larry_LCFC Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Here is angle number 2 showing the foot of beckford. For me he is simply stepping over his fat head.
Lcfcman2010 Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Andy woolmers a thief anyway. FACT! I worked at bookers cash and carry where he used to shop for his mum and dad that owned a newsagents in kettering. He got caught putting sweets and knifes into boxes of walkers crisps and taping box back up. Hes a right ****ing bellend at the best of times, this just highlights the fact even more. Tosser of the highest kind!!
The Doctor Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Seriously? He got a red card for that? Absolutely ridiculous, Wouldn't be surprised if the FA upheld the ban in order to avoid having to admit the referee was wrong though.
Maybes Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 You can see Beckford is obviously enraged with the fact that he doesn't even touch the player and he goes down like a sack of shit. Little tap on his ribs -----> linesman waving his flag. Joke. Nothing in this at all. The FA should overturn the decision and question the linesman. Obviously the later will not happen. 'He made a mistake' Almost as bad as Attwell seeing the imaginary goal!
marbelladave Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 The tap on the back was nothing, the linesman is going to say that Beckford caught the fullback with his boot, which had it actually happened would have ellicited some kind of reaction. No reaction at all from Dunk which i think says it all.....
Corky Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 I'm still none the wiser as to why he was sent off.
lcfcadam Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Well at least our ref against Cardiff can't possibly be as bad as the ones we've had in the previous two matches...
StanSP Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Fvck me than linesman is one incompetent bastard. I don't know about the lipreading part, I'm pretty shit at that. I wonder if the linesman thinks Beckford has spat on him the way he's knelt down in a quick fashion? I don't even see the slight movement of his foot to suggest he's kicked out . I'd be livid, absolutely raging if this isn't overturned. Even the Brighton commentators were surprised the red card was brought out.

jonlcfc1990 Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Look at Beckford's right leg/foot on 8 seconds in. Comes across very quick.... ... Yes it's a foot?
Alexikokopops Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Look at Beckford's right leg/foot on 8 seconds in. Comes across very quick.... If you look at the second video linked it looks like he's just stepping over his head. It could, if you were really looking for something, be interpreted as a tap with the boot. The reaction of the player suggests there was nothing in it though.

I agree if that player had just had a quick swipe in the face from a boot he wouldn't be getting up and looking for the ball. The most shocking thing in all of this? As the clip shows Beckfords Tackled him he's gone down like a sack of spuds trying to con the ref, It hasn't worked plays carried on and Beckfords tapped him to say "better luck next time" or along those lines he's got up sharpishly hoping not to be booked for theatrics and then... THE FAT FCUKIN LINO WAVES HIS FLAG LIKE A STUCK UP MUMMYS BOY! ITS SHOCKING. This video is along the same lines Cahills gone down looking for a challenge Ferdinand has raised his hands on him around the neck but he's shown to be pulling a fast one. Does Rio get sent off? No
