Simmo86 Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Be interesting to see if the FA go to Dunk and ask if there was any contact. Wonder whether he'd tell the truth or not.....
Maybes Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 We wont win the appeal and we've lost now so lets just look forward to next season. This season I cant remember getting any luck or much going our way hopefully things will change soon. Erh no. There are 18 games with 54 points up for grabs. What's the point of writing off the next 3/4months. A good run of results and we would be right back in the mix, however unlikely that might be. Be interesting to see if the FA go to Dunk and ask if there was any contact. Wonder whether he'd tell the truth or not..... You would hope he would to help a fellow professional.
Captain... Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Be interesting to see if the FA go to Dunk and ask if there was any contact. Wonder whether he'd tell the truth or not..... But why didn't the ref do that, that is what is pissing me off, having seen the incident, the lino starts flagging, the ref comes over, this from my lip reading expert: Lino: He kicked 'im in the 'ed! Send 'im orf! Ref: Who got kicked in the head? (looking round for a player lying on the floor in a pool of blood) Lino: 'im over there trying to get on with the game. Ref: Doesn't look like he was kicked in the head. Lino: 'e was it was well visciouos. Prolly brain damaged thats why he is not rollin' around in pain. Ref: Makes sense, are you sure, or should I ask him? Lino: Don't ask 'im 'e's pretty much unconcious, don't you trust me or summink? Ref: No, no Barry, I must learn to trust you again, I'm still hurt after finding you shacked up with that female lino, but we must be professional about this. True story,
EcclesallOwl Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 The ref should be the one getting the suspension after a decision like that.
Maybes Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 The ref should be the one getting the suspension after a decision like that. Linesman. He is the joker, although the ref wasn't particularly great anyhow.
CupidStunt Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 Heres my view on it, the Brighton player has taken a dive of sorts, he does down after, then looks up, then decides to put his fat head back down and and fool the officials. Seems to me, he has hit beckfords shin in the first place when clearing the ball, then it can be seen beckford scuffs his laces on the side of his head.Could he avoided it? probably, however, how the Linesman deems it as a kick is baffling. The Linesman has got it wrong big time, and whatever your name is, you sir are a dick.
robbieLOVESthealmightylcfc Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 i thought it was for abusive language???
davieG Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 So even the club wont (or can't) reveal exactly what it was for, fans are still down to second guessing the circumstances I feel like I've gone back in time and living in communist USSR or China According to the Merc Beckford was sent off for an aggressive act towards Brighton defender Lewis Dunk at the start of the second half of Saturday's 1-0 defeat at the Amex Stadium.

Dan Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 It's got to be in the next day or two because the games on Saturday. I have never seen a red card like that. I know I'm biased but even watching MOTD/FLS most weeks, I don't see any other team getting such soft reds as those.
StanSP Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 i thought it was for abusive language??? That's what SS and BBC's videprinters led you to believe. But if the referee has told Stringer it was for kicking out, then the referee could get disciplined too for discussing the matters publicly. I know it wasn't on air when Stringer spoke to the referee, but I don't think Stringer would stoop that low to lie about it or to instigate something.

That is what the BBC and SS people believed because they didn't see any violent conduct, (which there wasn't) and only saw Beckford say something, put 2 and 2 together and got 4. Whereas the ref and linesman managed to get -78.43522
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 i thought it was for abusive language??? It was " get your fing head off of my boot"
Callabinho Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 I think the contrasting reports prove he did **** all, foul language, then a kick? Well im sorry but you would have to be blind deaf and dumb to mistake those two.

_Fatboyslow_ Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 I think the contrasting reports prove he did **** all, foul language, then a kick? Well im sorry but you would have to be blind deaf and dumb tomistake those two Are we not talking about refs then , if this wasn't so serious then it would be very very funny. You can just also claim that he bent over and patted Dunk as a gesture to say sorry mate did mean anything with the foot, i was looking at the linesman
Corky Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 I do wonder what constitutes foul and abusive language, given some of the stuff said to officials that is easily identifiable and audible on cameras and microphones yet nothing is done about it.
goose2010 Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 I do wonder what constitutes foul and abusive language, given some of the stuff said to officials that is easily identifiable and audible on cameras and microphones yet nothing is done about it. I think (it might be wrong but was told by a ref) F&A abusive language is when it is directed at one of the officals so if you give a free kick away and say "oh for **** sake" that isnt but if you said "oh for **** sake ref, you're a f&cking joke" that is.
StanSP Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 Just as an example, I saw Andy Carroll yesterday mouth 'fvck off' to the ref after a free-kick was given against him. What's to be done there? Countless players do it, not just Carroll. Is it because the referee can't hear it due to the noise of the crowd? That'd explain why things get heard at the KP
Brooksy Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 If this appeal isn't a success it'll be absolutely laughable. It's quite obvious nothing happens and that poor excuse for a linesman needs shooting flagging like that.
Bert Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 . Was on a wind up. Think we'll hear the out come tomorrow.
