Ricey Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 http://www.lcfc.com/...2601513,00.html The Club has this morning (Monday) received notification from the Football Association, confirming the grounds for Jermaine Beckford's dismissal in Saturday's npower Championship fixture at Brighton & Hove Albion. The Club has notified the FA of its intention to appeal and will submit its case later today. Also, if you have FoxesPlayer account you can go on the Brighton equivalent using the same login and watch extended highlights, it shows the Beckford incident from several angles and you can see Beckford taps him on the back as if to say 'get up!' and that is when the Linesman flags. I know someone who works at Brighton and the backroom staff were told he was sent off for kicking out, you can also lip read the Linesman and he seems to say the same thing. From the video, it's pretty clear he didn't kick out in any way shape or form! It'll be over turned but the damage is done. http://www.seagulls....2601081,00.html
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 He wont win the appeal, we're Leicester.
davieG Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 So even the club wont (or can't) reveal exactly what it was for, fans are still down to second guessing the circumstances I feel like I've gone back in time and living in communist USSR or China
jonlcfc1990 Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 It's funny how we now have to appeal this so soon after NP said he would be appealing the referee on Wednesday. I'm truly let down and disappointed by the low quality of refereeing in our league at the moment over the last 3 years officiating has just gone from bad to worse and whats the FA's response? Respect? Even if they get it wrong! Especially if they get it horribly wrong we have to clap and show "Respect" Yeah I respect the ref for not being able to see that went out for a corner, I respect the ref can't see the player holding his face wasn't touched. Fcuk Respect and Fcuk referees its a total joke.
Simmo86 Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 What minute in the highlights does the incident happen?
gazfox9 Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 I actually expect this appeal to be successfull, based on the grounds that the reason for the sending off hasn't been released to ease the embarressment on the officials. Its extremeley rare to sit here two days after the game and still not know the reasons for a dismissal.
burni Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 if that was the case the ref was clearly match fixing and should lose his job. unacceptable, no way can the ref justify what he did.
Ricey Posted 6 February 2012 Author Posted 6 February 2012 What minute in the highlights does the incident happen? About 11.50 mins in, but the replay that proves he didn't do anything is the last replay they show at about 13.45.
Simmo86 Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 About 11.50 mins in, but the replay that proves he didn't do anything is the last replay they show at about 13.45. Seen it now, joke really. Wouldn't surprise me if it didn't get overturned though!
Larry_LCFC Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 ****ing referees! Tackle was barely even a foul. The tap on the ribs was most definately not agressive and not a even a yellow. Some players who foul others help them back up to their feet, others just give a friendly tap which is what it was. Absolutely appalling decision that cost us.
Dan Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 You could argue even if it's over-turned, we've still been unfairly punished having to play a game at a handicap for a long time. Seriously, everyone claims refs are against them, but at our ground - how many times have you seen things happen to the opposition on this scale of ridiculousness? It just doesn't happen, ever. The recent standout of course is Konchesky v Swindon, but how many more have we got away with? Big decisions? Nowhere near as we've been penalised for. If they don't over-turn it then the 0.1% faith I have in the authorities can wave goodbye.
Larry_LCFC Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpS_7nO76A4&feature=youtu.be Shit quality I know. But you can get the idea. Notice how the Brighton player doesnt even react to getting tapped. He just stands up and walks off...
leicesterisme Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Absolutely pathetic decision from the linesman that is seeing what he's actually done. Wouldn't honestly surprise me though if the FA didn't overturn it.
Dan Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Fvcking lol lol A red card for that, seriously no one can get as much shit as we do. That linesman needs a ban not fvcking Beckford.

Fcuk Respect and Fcuk referees its a total joke. Wrong, wrong, wrong. The problems lies with the fact the FA are confusing, quite deliberately, "top flight" referees and those that turn out for local teams on a Sturday or Sunday. The average park referee deserves total respect for just turning out and should not be subject to any recriminations no matter how bad they are as referees. The so called "top flight" is a different beast altogether. They need to demonstrate that they deserve respect every time they step on to the pitch. Thjey does this by handling the game in a fair manner that favours no team, by having a feel for the game rather than just the rules and by applying the rules correctly.

Libertine Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Wow. It takes him ages to even start flagging. Bizarre.
accessory Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 So even the club wont (or can't) reveal exactly what it was for, fans are still down to second guessing the circumstances I feel like I've gone back in time and living in communist USSR or China Some of us who saw the incident were reminded of the deep south, and I don't mean Sussex..
Jiggers the Fox Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Surely it can't have been for foul or abusive language then, the linesman doesnt react at all when Beckfords comments to him. He only starts waving like a ponce after he touces the player!
FoxyMusic Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 That is ridiculous. You can just tell the linesman has never played football in his life, these kind of things happen 10 times a game.
darko2k7 Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Wow that as got to be the softest red card ever . That as made my blood boil how the linesman can see that as aggressive is amazing . The fact the player does not even react is proof enough that there was no force involved in the tap . The guy in voicing the highlights made me laugh " He gave him a dig in the ribs , I think " Give over.
darbs Posted 6 February 2012 Posted 6 February 2012 Does he kick him in the head as he taps him on the back? He seems to kick out slightly but the Brighton player doesn't react.
