davieG Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 We've never been a 'team' in any sense of the word we just have a 'group' of players Group - a group is basically a collection of individuals, contributing to some common aim under the direction of a leader and who share a sense of common identity. Team - a team is more than just a group with a common aim. It is a group in which the contributions of individuals are seen as complimentary
Legend_in_blue Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 The refereeing has cost us 10 points. If this classes as being unlucky, then yes, in part we have been. But it's not all down to the officials. We simply haven't been good enough against opposition that hasn't been particularly good either. Doing the double over Southampton speaks volumes.
Burmesefox Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 The refereeing has cost us 10 points. Sorry mate you're deluded. Look also at decisions that have gone our way eg Knoch not getting sent off..
foxfanazer Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 We have, at times, but we're 12th for a reason, and luck isn't the main reason. This!

What games where these then? Don't say Forest. That was Kasper's fault.
Kitchandro Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 What games where these then? Don't say Forest. That was Kasper's fault. Fvck off. His first booking was needless, his second a disgrace. The penalty was an awful decision and changed the game. The referee most definitely cost us 2 points at Forest, no doubt about it.
NewburyFox Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 And another thing...... Can anyone remember the last time we scored a deflected goal, like the Watford one against us? Seem to let a few in but never get luck like that! I'm pretty sure Nugent's curler vs Southampton got a slight deflection. Obviously not as blatent as the Watford goal, but it wouldn't have ended up just inside the post without it.
Captain... Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Didn't Danns against Blackpool take a big deflection, and I'm sure Beckford has scuffed one in, like I said it is not the random factors (or luck as you mortals call it) that define our season but how we deal with them. Lets not forget Findley's miss of the season in the Forest match.

No, even after Kasper was sent off we still had the chance to see out the game and we simply couldn't due to poor goalkeeping from Weale.
Kitchandro Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 No, even after Kasper was sent off we still had the chance to see out the game and we simply couldn't due to poor goalkeeping from Weale. Who had to come on because Kasper was unjustly sent off At 2-0 we were holding them fine, without the penalty I'm convinced we would have won
acooling08 Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 No, even after Kasper was sent off we still had the chance to see out the game and we simply couldn't due to poor goalkeeping from Weale. Well take away the 2 shocking decisions and Weale wouldn't have needed to be on the pitch at all.
jamesmilner Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 I really do not believe the 'luck evens out' argument at all. Some teams this season including us will probably have been cost around 10 points due to referees, whereas others have probably gained 10. But I must say that dispite being unlucky with refs, we haven't been good enough this season to get promoted anyway. but if we had the 10 points you say we have been robbed of , we would be in a playoff spot !!!!
dannythefox Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 we've been as lucky and unlucky as every other team. No chance when your doing well and your well up there you get a lot more decisions go your way.
dannythefox Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 What games where these then? Don't say Forest. That was Kasper's fault. Kasper was unaware of the first yellow and the ref didn't show him it to his face he was facing the other way. He wouldn't of throw the ball away otherwise so it was the ref's fault.
acooling08 Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Just watching the goals back against Watford, there was a BLATANT foul on Morgan in the buildup. Iwelumo shoves him out of the way like the big sack of shit he is. Another point cost by the officials?

Another point cost by the officials? I don't think Morgan is getting there anyway tbh
purpleronnie Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 I love the fact poeople seem to think were the only team where a decision by the ref might have cost points.
leicesterisme Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Jesus christ, actually suggesting the referee robbed us of a point against Watford is embarassing.
acooling08 Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Jesus christ, actually suggesting the referee robbed us of a point against Watford is embarassing. If the referee sees the off-the-ball foul by Iwelumo on Morgan who was running back to tackle/block the ball then he gives a FK, Watford don't score, we could get a point or 3. It doesn't matter whether Morgan would have got back or not, as soon as the foul was committed the whistle should have gone. As for the Beckford penalty shout, I think the ref got it right and it was outside the area.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 I really don't believe that. With some of the refs we have had. Many other club supporters are doubtless saying the same thing,
Legend_in_blue Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Sorry mate you're deluded. Look also at decisions that have gone our way eg Knoch not getting sent off.. If you think that then clearly you haven't been to many home games this season. We've lost out on at least half of the ten in home games. As for PK, if you're refering to that challenge in the Swindon game, then I'm surprised it wasn't given considering the number of poor decisions made against us this season. What games where these then? Don't say Forest. That was Kasper's fault. One could highlight the handball on Mills' part - but I won't go there. As for KS, twice he was done over in that game, so don't go blaming him either.
Kitchandro Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 I love the fact poeople seem to think were the only team where a decision by the ref might have cost points. We're not the only ones but we've had it happen to us quite a lot of times, I'd suggest more so than most. That goes for our relegation season too, as well as Sousa's reign. We're not talking about one-off occassions here, we're talking about a lot, certainly more big decisions go unfairly against us than unfairly for us.
Corky Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 The referee played far too big a part in the Forest comeback, but other times we've only ourselves to blame.
Guest ttfn Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 The referee played far too big a part in the Forest comeback, but other times we've only ourselves to blame. The penalty award in that game was absurd. The referee showed a blatant disregard for the rules.
