Mills on loan to leeds / whu or who?

i wonder what Leeds fans make of Mills possibly going there?

Vital Leeds

Leicester City defender Matt Mills could be new manager Neil Warnock`s first signing at Leeds United.

Reports suggest that the Leicester club captain, who joined Leicester from Reading last summer for a fee in excess of £3 million is no longer in the plans of foxes manager Nigel Pearson.

Mills hasn`t played in Leicester`s last two games, since their loss at Watford and he was not named in the clubs 16 for the win at Derby County on Thursday night.

Warnock has stated that he is desperate to add to Leeds defensively with the club having conceded 48 goals in 32 games already this season.

The 25 year old is an experienced central defender having played over 200 games since making his debut in 2004.

Mills started his career at Southampton but was snapped up by Premier

League

side Manchester City in 2006 for £250,000 after just twenty senior appearances.

He made just two appearances for City before signing for Doncaster Rovers in 2007 on loan. He spent most of the season with Doncaster, making 40 appearances and helping them to promotion from League One.

He signed a permanent deal at the Keepmoat the following summer and was an almost ever present as he helped them establish themselves in the championship.

His form for Doncaster saw fellow championship side Reading pay £2 million for the defender in the summer of 2009.

Mills was the talisman in the Reading defence as they reach the play off final last season. He scored in the defeat at Wembley in the final against Swansea.

Sven Goran Eriksson moved for the defender in the summer and he had been an almost ever present at the Walker Stadium this season, making 31 appearances before his recent exclusion from the squad.

Mills has also represented England at both under 18 and 19 levels.

His disciplinary

record

is a major flaw with him receiving 41 yellow cards and 7 reds since the start of the 2007/08 season.

Our defence has looked sound, organised and solid with St Ledger and Morgan. Both of which are better defenders than Mills in my opinion. If he has had a bust up with the manager, and he is a negative influence, then he should leave.

To be fair hes been crap, if he goes to leeds and becomes the player he used to be then im sure we have a place for him here, but until he does, we have no need for him, he is currently 4th in the pecking order on current form

Take the fact that he wound a load of ****s into Pearson and disrespected the gaffer out of the equation.... We are a better defence without him in the side.

The only reason a lot of people dont see it yet is that the two games since have both been away.

You'll see when we next play at home, we wont miss him one bit.

I think he is bad news to have around the other players also, so it's a win win.

and if he goes to leeds and has a blinder, that could stop us getting play-offs. the only reason why i dont like this deal is cause of the position we are in compared to leeds

I would be disappointed to see Mills leave. But the lad does need to pull his finger out of his arse. Instead of throwing his toys out of the pram he should start improving his game and try forcing his way back in. He has been a disapointment and his 5 million price tag doesnt help that.

Why the hell should we loan him to Leeds and pay most of his wages?

Leeds will be getting the presumed benefit, why shouldn't they pay for it? Pearson's had already virtually given Leeds a freescoring winger in Gradel and now he's providing Mills as little more than a charitable donation?

Why? Leeds remain one of our rivals for the play-off spots and, for all his limitations, Mills can point to a commendable record of clean sheets.

No I don't criticise Pearson for shipping Mills out quickly. Pearson's the manager and if he believes we will do better using others then I understand him getting rid. But if he does Leeds any more favours they'll be calling for a Pearson statue outside Elland Road. lol

If he cant take a rocket off Pearson then god help him with Warnock

they are all on twitter saying its a great signing. Which it is. I'm gutted :(

People on here said the same until they saw him play. Do you like him because he "supports leicester" because it can't be down to his average performances.

It's a shame it's not worked out for him but at the end of the day he as not been good enough most of the time . NP must have a good reason to do this because it was only a couple of games ago he was first choice .

I'll stick by NP and the club on this one .

Leicester may sell in the summer and it is better he plays, gets good press and moves on. We would pay his wages if he was with us and probably see his value drop. He needs to improve to get into the Leeds team.

Because he doesn't rate him.

Pearson doesn't want Mills about. The only way to get him away is loan him and pay his wages. No other club in the champ can afford to do so.

Can anyone point me in the direction of an interview, be it video or otherwise where Mills has stated he has been a life-long LCFC fan? I'm taking this with a pinch of salt, because when he signed I don't remember, other than forum and media speculation that he is 'of leicestershire', and this being tenuous links to say the least.

I'm not lambasting the lad, but it seems to me if he has only recently proclaimed his love-affair for our club, he's clutching at the metaphorical.

if you look at it reading where in play-off semis last year and they are up there now if he was that good they would want him to stay but they sold him and they are still in the play-offs what dose this say.

Now hes gone out on loan lets see if we pick up or if we stay as we are look when dennis wise came good player but didnot cut it plus the lad from arsnal he was the same you need players to get on if they dont you stand no chance i now that and i have seen that in junior football 1 bad egg and you can piss in the wind so lets see what happons

:scarf: come on leicester :scarf:

So for the sake of three months wages and the need to maintain the market value of an over-priced centre-back we're prepared to help finance Leeds' promotion push? Couldn't you just see Leeds finishing sixth, City seventh, Mills shoring up Leeds defence and Bates' boys winning the play-offs...all cos we wanted to save the price of one player.
