gazfox9 Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 This is whats eating at me- why Leeds?? I mean, surely a prem side would be more than happy to take a punt on him, especially if were paying a large portion of his wages. Take Blackburn for example, sold Samba yesterday for £12m. They'd prob take him in a heartbeat. I'd guess sides like Bolton, Wigan maybe Everton etc would be more than willing to take him. Best case scenario fof me is he goes to a prem club for a bit, then comes back and starts again from scratch.
SpanishFanLCFC Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Bad news, Mills should continue in the LCFC, he's the captain, and Jack Hobbs should return.
accessory Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Bamba? I didn't think Mills should of been captain but aparently that if he came he got made captain, no player who has just come to a club he doesn't really know deserves to be captain, IMO it should of been Wellens from the start. Because Wellens, apart from the last two games, has had such an immaculate record as captain, hasn't he? Who can forget his inspirational, dynamic performances against Bristol City, Millwall and Doncaster? And as Sousa and Eriksson will testify, he's always been so supportive of his managers... I can't see Mills playing for the club again if he goes out on loan, SSL apologized and made up and that's what Mills has to do. It's gone beyond that stage. Pearson is so desperate to get rid he'll offload MIlls to another club just to keep him away from the training ground, even though we'll still be paying his wages. Once again, the club is viewed as a laughing stock by the rest of the league.. This is whats eating at me- why Leeds?? speedwayson Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 The shower of shit that won us league 1 and got us into the playoffs what i am saying reading have change there team around they are 4th in championship when you look who they got rid off and who they brought in and we have to get better players and not players that have gone over
ozleicester Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 I love Leicester... evry week some incomprehensible decision is made. He is a quality player who has had a down season, it happens to everyone. We have given him to Leeds... i mean Leeds... FFS, if it was Donny, or Portsmouth ok... if he had to go, then go there.. but LEEDS?????? Im beginning to wonder about NP's reaction to being challenged, the man must have a serious inferiority complex?
dave the caveman Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 People may have had reason to complain when we let Fernandes go as he was potentially the best player in the league, but Matt Mills is just a half decent championship centre back with all sorts of personal and professional problems. Much like MONs teams, NP's teams work as a strong unit with team spirit at the core, there is no room for anyone who hasn't got the right attitude. I can't believe people are doubting this philosophy when we've just suffered two years of abject misery while in the hands of more 'liberal' managers Sousa and Sven.
Schlupp Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Tbh this proves my point about Pearson he's a fvcking idoit,A club around the same area as us in the table and we loan them supposedly our best CB?

Im beginning to wonder about NP's reaction to being challenged, the man must have a serious inferiority complex? Pearson came back, assessed the players that were now at his disposal and it appears that Mills is not someone he likes. Whether thats an attitude problem, playing style issue it doesnt really matter. It was clear from the signing of Morgan one would go and it appears to be Mills. Many people on here excuse a poor performance from Mills with, 'its not his fault he cost so much'. Well its not NP's fault either and its certainly not his fault he was made captain.
ealingfox Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 I can only see this ending badly for us. I was planning to stick quite a large sum on Leeds to get promoted next season in the summer anyway.

Im beginning to wonder about NP's reaction to being challenged, the man must have a serious inferiority complex? Why? Put yourself in NP's shoes. If what we've heard is true, what would you do? Let the players walk all over you? Could you seriously consider picking a player, the captain, no less, who's mouthed off at you in front of the rest of the squad? What sort of message does that send out? You're supposed to be in charge, but the players can get whatever they want if they shout at you loud enough? I think NP was left with no choice but to get rid. Mills hasn't played very well since he's joined - certainly not worth his price tag, so I say good riddance. As someone else here stated, this is just another mistake by a former manager that's being sorted by NP. The manager knows what he's doing.
Guest Col city fan Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Seems you are displaying a similar attitude to that of the player - decision not to your liking = toys out of the pram. Gutted you are not coming to anymore away games as the support shown in the last couple of games has been inspiring in my opinion - if you were at the Watford game you might have drawn the same conclusion as me that the first half was dominated by Watfords centre forward Iwelumo with Mills struggling to keep with him or win any ball in the air, second half was transformed with Morgan replacing Mills and completely removing the threat of Iwelumo from the game. For me this made my mind up about Mills, forget the sending off's and conceded penalties his distribution generally is poor and if he is now providing a disruptive influence in training/dressing room then Pearson has to make a decision and for me shipping him out to another club, although I accept Leeds is not ideal, is probably in everyone's best interest. Leeds will certainly be contributing to his wages and if he is going in the summer then it's best he is in the shop window now for others to consider their bids. Our challenge for promotion is still in our hands, with our form this season it is highly inprobable that we can put the sort of run together that we need to put a serious challenge together but lets see what happens, if the last couple of performances are indicative of our end of season run then who knows - anything is possible. As for Mills wanting to play for the club and being a big Leicester fan, well you could say the same about Roy Cropper but you wouldn't want him in your first team would you? Super post mate..
Kitchandro Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Don't go to any away games then if you're going to have that attitude. FFS, I don't want any disrupting player at the club, regardless of how good he is supposed to be. Don't blame Pearson in any way, I wouldn't stand for it if I was manager. This. People on here are fvcking embarrassing. First Fernandes, now Mills is more important than the manager. If Mills has kicked off we don't want him. He's been average at best anyway. I can't see why anyone would feel any attachment to the arrogant tosser.
Kitchandro Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 So for the sake of three months wages and the need to maintain the market value of an over-priced centre-back we're prepared to help finance Leeds' promotion push? Couldn't you just see Leeds finishing sixth, City seventh, Mills shoring up Leeds defence and Bates' boys winning the play-offs...all cos we wanted to save the price of one player. No I seriously don't see that happening.
ozleicester Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Why? Put yourself in NP's shoes. If what we've heard is true, what would you do? Let the players walk all over you? You slap (metaphorically) the player down, put them in their place and have the rest of the team see how you make the player behave how you want. see rooney vs fergie. you dont get your knickers in a knot and send the player away... ner ner ner see im the boss :P :P stil my point remains.. Leeds?... LEEDS????????
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Why are people moaning at Pearson? Mills has been poor for a while, when you play poor you get dropped but Mills didn't like it and had a row with Pearson and we always know who wins, the same happened with St. Ledger and now look at him! He knuckled down and fought for his place and now he is always in the starting 11 for me. Mills however doesn't really show that he wants to fight for his place and he is one of those "delusions of grandeur" thinking he is bigger than the club so Pearson is making an example out of him, just like DJ Campbell. Most people on here said that Mills needed to be dropped because he has had numerous of poor performances, but now that he is going on loan after being dropped and a row with Pearson you're all saying he's good and it's Pearson's fault, Jesus make up your minds!
21st Century Fox Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Whats to say he won't go and sour the Leeds dressing room. It could humble him a bit. Who knows. I can't see how everyone's instantly making him the saviour of Leeds' season, he was hardly a linchpin here.

sphericalfox Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 This. People on here are fvcking embarrassing. First Fernandes, now Mills is more important than the manager. If Mills has kicked off we don't want him. He's been average at best anyway. I can't see why anyone would feel any attachment to the arrogant tosser. Yet the vitriol and disdain for Mills is repetitious of the exact situation with SSL. Everyone has short-term memories around here. SSL has turned himself into a 1st teamer by hard work and graft. Pearson laid the gauntlet down by putting him on the transfer list, after SSL had the gall to claim that he shouldn't have been dropped for Mills. How the worm has turned for Mills. Whilst I understand why he might be aggrieved, I think there is something more to this.
Happy Fox Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Leeds 48 points Leicester 45 points 3 Points difference?, the season aint over yet who is to say we won't finish above Leeds?, but that is not the point what is, is getting rid of an ego which seems to be harming or disrupting team sprit.
Raw Dykes Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Leeds 48 points Leicester 45 points Leeds are one of very few clubs, if not the only club, who can take him off our hands at the mo. PL clubs can't use this Football League loan window, and most clubs in the Football League can't afford him. Obviously, it'd be better if he was at a club near the foot of the table, but that's not an option. It's not like we picked a promotion rival to send him out to, out of all the clubs in the country - NP decided it's better that Mills isn't around the club, ruining the dressing room harmony - where he ends up is really a non-issue. The question isn't, "where can we send him?" - it's, "can we get rid of him?"
NewburyFox Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 If Pearson is planning on selling him in the summer, which he probably is, surely it's better that he's playing every week than sitting in our reserves? We're likely to get a bigger sum this way. He's been average at best, Morgan and St Ledger seem more than capable of forming a strong partnership, we have Bamba (and maybe Tunchev) as a back-up, we're getting a disruptive and egotistical player away from the club, seems like the right thing to do in my opinion.
Tielemans63 Posted 25 February 2012 Posted 25 February 2012 Mixed feelings about this. I'd hoped that the situation could be resolved a la SSL but if it's going to cause friction in the squad then it's right to let him go. It's not like we've really missed him and if he's kicked off for some reason then it's no good having him here ruining the vibe. Shame he's going to Leeds though, not ideal him going to a rival. A guy I work with is delighted about the idea, appraently they ship lots of goals aerially because they play 3 relatively short players across the back and Darren O'Dea can't head to save his life. He reckons MM is exactly what they're missing.

The 'Sven Legacy' has left the club with a couple of signings it's probably gonna be hard to get rid of even if we want to. Given their overall performances this season, I can't see many clubs sniffing after the likes of Mills and Beckford, given the transfer fees we paid for them and the ridiculous wages they are purportedly on. This could prove a major headache for Nige if he wishes to change the composition of the squad. Which I believe he will want to do. It's a good job we got money at present.. Allegedly...
