Took us to the League 1 title and on the brink of the Championship play-off final in his 2 years in charge! And he has the greatest win ratio of any permanent Leicester manager! I'm not sure he does now. Even if he does, the stat is meaningless because he is the only manager we had in League 1.

The difference is, the progress would have been much slower with little forward planning and a revolving door signings policy. I think its legitimate to say that we could have been promoted in spite of sven and not because of him

You're saying a manager gets NO credit for picking up a decent midfielder and probably our best player (bar Schmeichel who he also got for a bargain £1m)? You say it like they would have joined us no matter what, like he didn't choose to approach them in particular. Jesus, people try so hard to take credit from him, this is just laughable.

He had the makings of a quality side, we played some lovely football and we wouldve been "in contention" but no way a guarantee. In the same way, that stupid people make statements like "Pearson would've won that game" or "We would've lost if Sven had been in charge" the assumption of promotion is bollocks. Oh and as an aside... if you really wanted us to play Chelski rather than Brum... (other than for the away day experience)... are you really thinking clearly?

Tom17LCFC Posted 7 March 2012 Posted 7 March 2012 I'm still a big fan of Sven and think he went too early. Under him we were guilty of inconsistency, something we're still guilty of under NFP. Something tells me though, that his reign at the club isn't over. I think he'll be back. I've nothing to substantiate this and his return would mean that we've either been unsuccessful under NP or that he's been poached, but I do think we'll see him again. Interesting view, what makes you think that? I'm unsure how we'd be doing if he was still here. We seemed toothless away from home with no real bite and no real sense of what we were doing. He really was a true gent though.

How can you say this! Sven spent Millions on underperforming players who thought they could walk this league. He lost the dressing room, and failed to motivate such players/ change their radiculous big man, over confident personalities. Pearson has been sweaping up the mess Sven left behind, and has only just managed to start making us look like a football club again rather than a circuis show!

Bought well mainly (most of the quality we have now are Svenners) and the chairboy panicked and sacked him. Huge mistake from which we will take a couple of years to recover. We won't get a manager of his quality for years now and with the total fear exhibited when we actually bought some players by most on here, we will be happy with the same mid table mediocre crap we have had for years. His points average was playoff standard while he was here (actually add the points up fellas) andhe at least had ambition. Our board is crap and we will remain anonymous for a few more years. That unfortunately, is the Leicester I support.

You don't need maths for that, that's just a fact. We were NEVER in the play-offs under Sven. And ambition? Explain what ambition he had? All I saw was millions spent and negative tactics. At Coventry we were playing one up front and 9 men behind the ball! At Coventry! At Birmingham and Boro and Barnsley the same, amongst others. I'd like to hear which players you consider quality in our side, cos I'd could name you twice as many average or poor players he has bought. You and Dangerous Tiger are completely clueless. Completely.
