Libertine Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 And we'll get a nice compensation package when we're sacked. I'm in That should buy us a nice few crates of lemonade.
Steve Agnew Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Tom Kennedy, not good enough. I can see him going back to Peterborough in the summer.
Dan Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Weare all so surprised to be where we are now, we expected to be in the playoffs, if you predicted at the beginning of the season anything other than the playoffs then you must have no faith in Sven or Leicester at all. When we make predictions they will always be influenced by hope! Even being realistic we were expected to reach playoffs at the beginning of the season. What kind of fan would predict worse than any of the pundits? I try to be realistic and optimistic at the same time. If you don't think we have the ingredients to make the top six, then don't let your bias towards Leicester cloud what you think will happen, like me and tonnes of others clearly did do.
The People's Hero Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Schlupp is on the bench isn't he? He's gone for Howard? I wonder if he'll get himself sent off.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 go on bamba! fvck off howard! Howard, FVCKING HOWARD!!!!! Pearsons answer - Howard Lolz STEEEEEEEEVVVVVEEEEEE
Dan Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 When we're being forced into hoofball, then Howard's a more useful option than Beckford. Simple as that.
Karljohn Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 He's older and more experienced, probably good vocally on the pitch through the dying stages of a game! Also he wins ball which helps to keep posession with Leicester and if we're winning, retain our lead, or if we're losing or drawing help push for another goal! 45 minutes for Big Steve then LCFCBaby!.....
acooling08 Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Just got it. Not surprised to see us down, I could never see us getting anything from this game.
The People's Hero Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Tom Kennedy, not good enough. I can see him going back to Peterborough in the summer. The odd thing is, NP has a decent eye for a defender and it was NP who signed him. Whenever I've seen him he's looked steady, but he do seem to be missing Konchesky judging by others' comments and downturn in results.
Dan Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 The atmosphere there is always absolutely terrible. I think the madejski is the most soulless ground I've ever been to. Been twice on foxtravel or whatever and just been dumped there about 2 hours before kick off, there is no pubs within miles since its in the middle of nowhere, but you can go in the ground and drink £4 a bottle fosters or whatever then be shepherded to your seat where you have to sit quietly. Reading don't seem to even have a noisy minority. Its just file in, sit quietly, clap now and then, file out. One of the worst away days - I won't go there again (and I was offered a free ticket today, courtesy of a friend who works for Waitrose - for those that don't know, they give away a LOT of tickets) Last year was my first visit and as long as there are no crucial games there, it was my last too.
ScouseFox Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Super, Super Steve! This really is disappointing. We've resulted to this. Oh my.
EnderbyFox Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 "A foul by Steve Howard" getting ready to hear that alot this half.
ScouseFox Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Howard stats: Fouls committed - 1 Touches of the ball - 0. More Howard stats later, x.
MarkHowieLCFC Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Last year was my first visit and as long as there are no crucial games there, it was my last too. It's like going to a library...
Langston Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 I thank Christ I don't have to listen to Alan Young given I can't get RL down here during games. "BEG FRANKEH HOWID!"
Tom17LCFC Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Who's Bamba come on for? Just heard Howard's name and my heart sank slightly.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Hate to bring some impartiality but 0-2 down at West ham Howard changed the game. He gave us an option to aim at and set up both goals with his Head of god... We have been non existant 0 shots on target it can only get better from 0
Guest Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 At least Nigel's trying to change things rather than just letting the game get away from us without putting up a struggle. Schlupp the future or Howard the past Great choice Nigel, I don't want to start doubting you but...
The People's Hero Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Last year was my first visit and as long as there are no crucial games there, it was my last too. I went once with a Reading fan and sat in the home end as he promised me it would be an absolute cracking atmosphere. It was absolutely dire. There was maybe one or two chants all game, very half hearted. The best thing about the day was the food he insisted I try at half time. Afterwards he insisted it was a good atmosphere. Absolutely appalling. I know people moan about the atmosphere at the KP at times and yeah it can be a bit dead from time to time, but there are far, far worse HOME atmospheres in this division. I've actually been about 5 or 6 times, but I won't go again.
cc_star Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Tom Kennedy, not good enough. I can see him going back to Peterborough in the summer. Against the team with the best wide men in the division? Really... Who'd have thought Did you say the same thing after his MotM performance away at Palace?
Callabinho Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 We were winning nothing in the air, Howard surely had to come on, Schlupp isn't exactly going to hold the ball up is he?
lcfcbaby Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 I dont mean to come across as crass but Can you blame them for "getting our hopes up"? would you rather they came out at the start of the season and said "Right chaps nothing guaranteed this season the squad is mediocre and we might not win many games this season" How many home tickets would that sell? How many shirts? how much merchandise? It's just ridiculous they got our hopes up? i think we are all guilty of getting carried away and not to mention They were hopeful themselves! They thought they had given Sven the tools to challenge promotion. Money to buy players, one of the best playing surfaces in our league, new training facilities and new coaches for away trips? "IF" We would of Kept Pearson and not have gone through the Paulo and Sven mess we would of had a much better season. On paper we look promising but is it the "Owners" Fault Matt Mills is a joke? that we have had some torrid refereeing displays? And that Wellens has only just started this season now? No it's not their fault. I know exactly what you mean but my main point was that the Owners don't understand the championship at all and that they are trying to buy promotion. Obviously we'd expect to do well, and obviously they want our hopes to be raised but they went about it the wrong way. They don't really know what they are doing. It's the players I have the problem with. Between Sven and the Owners we've gone horribly wrong, both thinking that buying great individual players will do the trick, but to get promoted you need to play as a team that is why Southampton are where they are.
lcfcbaby Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 The Thai's are as much to blame? What, by backing the man they employed and entrusting him with their money? I don't think so. They acted precisely how they should quite frankly. Also, look at the money spent by QPR, it was nowhere near the amount we've spent, Warnock, although a t*at, will never pay over the odds. Unlike Sven.... So you think we can just go any buy the league? Then you know nothing about the championship. It may work in the Premier League but in the championship it doesn't work like that. Sven was given too much freedom and money to spend!
Walker Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 Really angry he's broken the massively effective Beckford and Nugent partnership!! Can't believe he's brought on Howard the only player who can actually hold the ball up.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 10 March 2012 Posted 10 March 2012 i still cant understand the championship it's one of the most unpredicatable leagues in the world
