1964FOX Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 For me it is not a case of him having a drink, it is more the public way in which he has done it, getting drunk in public and acting like a bit of a tit when you are a (moderately) high profile footballer is just a bit silly. He must know that any indiscretions, however minor, will get blown out of proportion and be splashed over the papers. Yes I understand what you are saying but from past experience of doing that myself numerous times I can't really condemn him for it personally.
MrSpaM Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Does anybody remeber the days of Walsh, Elliot and co in mosquito coast at the weekends smoking and downing beers like there was no tomorow? ahh those were the days
Matt Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Does anybody remeber the days of Walsh, Elliot and co in mosquito coast at the weekends smoking and downing beers like there was no tomorow? ahh those were the days Was just about the mention this, a majority of arguably our best team (Of my lifetime) in the 90's were borderline alcoholic's, didn't do them much harm!
MrAus Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Fairplay to him, as long as he is fit and ready for sunday who gives a shit, hes a normal person like the rest of us just better at gambling and playing football!
z-layrex Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Was just about the mention this, a majority of arguably our best team (Of my lifetime) in the 90's were borderline alcoholic's, didn't do them much harm! Look at the state of them these days tho.
Unabomber Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 I don't understand people saying there is an over reaction. If anything most people in this thread are saying it's fine, good luck to him I say. As long as he continues to do the job on the pitch, he can drink as many and buy as many people that he wants jagerbombs.
munf1987 Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Hes a pro footballer, As long as he turns up for training on time in an acceptable condition and trains hard and performs well in matches, why should it matter?
Saxondale Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Hes a pro footballer, As long as he turns up for training on time in an acceptable condition and trains hard and performs well in matches, why should it matter? Well he was certainly in training today! Training picture special on OS: http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2662138,00.html
foxile5 Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 The thing I'd like to mention is that he is obviously not shy of the graft. He had a falling out with NP and got his nose down and earnt his place back in the team. Clearly not a shirker. Let the man have a lark around, he's clearly one for putting the work in.
blueredswed Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 That article made me laugh. He can do what he wants on his days off, as long as he plays well on Sunday, then it doesn't matter to me. No he can´t! He got payment or perhaps this is Champions not premiere... Man C. Ballotelli get on a strip club and...... Rooney were out and drink how much was it they pay each? Soo the players have responsibility against the club and the owners or **** off!

This is what we are like Blueredswed we complain and moan that we are not good enough for the Premiership but when our players don't take their fitness as seriously as Premiership players then we wonder why we are not good enough
The Padster Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 when our players don't take their fitness as seriously as Premiership players then we wonder why we are not good enough I think that's more of a talent thing.
Soar Fox Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Look at the state of them these days tho. I've just been down St Andrews football club with Steve Walsh & Muzzy Izzet, both pacing themselves with bottles of Budweiser.
Kitchandro Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 I've just been down St Andrews football club with Steve Walsh & Muzzy Izzet, both pacing themselves with bottles of Budweiser. That's disappointing. Budweiser? I thought they'd have better taste than that.
blueredswed Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 I've just been down St Andrews football club with Steve Walsh & Muzzy Izzet, both pacing themselves with bottles of Budweiser. And Nigel with a softdrink ?
I am Rod Hull Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 An Irish lad who likes horse racing and a drink? What next? Yuki Abe killing whales and invading China? Bruno Berner caught eating a toblerone whilst yodeling? Kasper Schmiechel growing a moustache and doing 1970`s porn movies? I though stereotyping was dead
Raw Dykes Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 And Nigel with a softdrink ? Are you telling me Budweiser isn't a soft drink? Q. What do Budweiser and sex in a boat have in common? A. They're both fvcking close to water.

katieakita Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 Believe everything you read in the Daily Mail, now that is funny.
clare Posted 16 March 2012 Posted 16 March 2012 I've no idea if this is true or not. If it is, then I'm sure NP will be having words with SSL and will deal with it the way he sees fit. If it isn't true, then well, it's just the usual tabloid bullcrap.
